The Moto G45 5G is a sensible India-market budget phone if you value responsive everyday use, smooth scrolling and a distinctive vegan-leather finish more than a sharp display or reliable heavy-game performance. Its 120Hz screen is only HD+, its cameras struggle more in low light, and reviewers found battery life broadly a one-day proposition. Check the price of the exact RAM variant and confirm Motorola’s current update policy before buying.
What are the Moto G45 5G’s specifications?
Motorola announced the phone in India on 21 August 2024, with first sale scheduled for 28 August. Its launch prices were ₹10,999 for 4GB RAM/128GB storage and ₹12,999 for 8GB/128GB, with a conditional ₹1,000 launch offer. These are historical launch prices, not current offers.

Motorola lists the model’s processor, memory, storage expansion, operating system, battery and charging details on its India support site. The company’s launch announcement describes a vegan-leather finish offered in three colors. Features and box contents can vary by market or configuration; check the product listing for the version you are considering.
How good is the display and build?
120Hz scrolling, but an HD+ picture
The 120Hz refresh rate helps scrolling and supported animations look smoother than on a standard-refresh display. It does not make the image more detailed: the 6.5-inch panel is HD+, rather than Full HD+. If you read small text, watch a lot of video or are accustomed to a sharper screen, that resolution is a noticeable trade-off.

Digit measured 482 nits under direct sunlight and reported that the screen was difficult to read outdoors in bright conditions. That is one reviewer’s measurement and observation, not a guarantee of every unit’s performance, but it is a reason to compare the screen in person if outdoor visibility matters to you.
A more distinctive finish than the price suggests
Digit found the vegan-leather rear and available colors distinctive for the price. Motorola also specifies Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the display and IP52 water resistance. IP52 should not be read as waterproofing: take care around water and follow the device’s care guidance.

Is performance good for daily use and gaming?
For routine tasks, the G45 5G is one of the phone’s stronger points. 91mobiles found it handled everyday use and multitasking smoothly. Digit also reported good benchmark performance, while noting slower storage behavior than a comparison phone in its own testing. These are review observations from particular units and methods, not a promise that every workload will feel identical.
More demanding games expose the limits. Digit reported frame drops in titles such as BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile. The G45 is therefore a better fit for messaging, browsing, video and casual play than for someone who expects consistently smooth performance in intensive games.

- NEW built-in stylus. Jot notes, edit photos, sketch artwork, and navigate effortlessly with an improved stylus and updated software.
- 6.7" pOLED display and Dolby Atmos. Experience cinema-quality entertainment with over a billion shades of color and multidimensional sound*.
- 50MP Ultra Pixel camera + OIS. Capture sharper low-light photos and smoother videos with an unshakable camera system featuring Optical Image Stabilization.
- 30W TurboPower charging + over a day battery. Get hours of power in just minutes of charging, then work and play with unbelievable battery life**.
- Standout design. Make a statement with its stunning look, modern color, and soft, vegan leather finish.
How good are the cameras?
The 50MP main camera can produce appealing daylight pictures, and reviewers found daylight and portrait results useful for the price. Results are less consistent in difficult conditions: Digit noted missed shadow detail and low-light noise, while 91mobiles flagged inaccurate skin tones and weak low-light performance. The main camera also lacks optical image stabilization, which can make steady shots harder in dim light or when the phone moves.
That makes the camera system adequate for casual daylight photography, but not a dependable choice if night shots, natural skin tones or stabilization are priorities. The 2MP macro camera is an additional lens, not a substitute for a versatile camera system.
Rank #4
- Fluid 120Hz Display: Features a large 6.7-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for smooth scrolling and added durability.
How long does the battery last, and how fast does it charge?
Motorola specifies a 5,000mAh battery and 18W charging. In Digit’s review, the phone lasted 13 hours 42 minutes in PCMark’s battery test; the reviewer also reported roughly a day with medium use and a 1 hour 36 minute charge from empty. 91mobiles reported 94 minutes to charge from 20% to full, but said its use required charging by the end of the day. The reviewers used different conditions, so their figures are not directly comparable.
Digit said its review unit came with a 20W TurboPower adapter in the box, even though Motorola’s listed charging specification is 18W. Do not assume the same adapter is included with every regional or retail version; verify the box contents for the specific listing.

What software and updates should buyers expect?
The phone launched with Android 14, and Motorola promised an Android 15 upgrade. Reviewers described the software as relatively clean, but also noted suggested-app folders or promotional prompts. Gadgets 360 says Glance and MotoHub prompts can be disabled; Digit describes suggested GamesHub, Entertainment and Shopping folders.
Published reviews disagree about the security-update commitment: Gadgets 360 reports two years of updates delivered every two months, while Digit reports three years. Because those accounts conflict, do not rely on either duration as settled policy or infer a support end date from it. Check Motorola’s current model-specific policy before purchase.

Should you buy the Moto G45 5G?
Consider it if you want a budget 5G phone for everyday tasks, appreciate a smooth 120Hz interface and like the finish, and can accept an HD+ screen. It is less compelling for heavy gaming, frequent low-light photography, or a buyer who prioritizes a sharp, bright display or a clearly documented long update commitment.
