Russian authorities reportedly arrested three alleged members of the DataSuckers data-extortion group after attacks linked in public reporting to companies in both Russia and Ukraine. Moscow’s Tverskoy District Court publicly identified only 19-year-old Denis Alekseevich Friedman, placing him under house arrest through December 8, 2026. The order is a pretrial measure, not a conviction, and the identities and roles of the other alleged detainees remain unconfirmed.
What Moscow’s court actually ordered
The Tverskoy District Court placed Friedman under house arrest on October 14, 2026, under Article 272.1(3)(a,c) of the Russian Criminal Code. House arrest limits a suspect while investigators pursue a case; it does not establish guilt.
Risky Business reported that authorities arrested three alleged DataSuckers members and described the broader group as having four members operating across Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. Only Friedman has been named in the reviewed court reporting. Syndicate said the court notice confirms Friedman’s name and status but does not establish who the other alleged participants are or what each person supposedly did.
No public indictment naming the other alleged detainees has been identified. The next concrete date in the public record is December 8, when Friedman’s reported house-arrest order is due to expire unless a court changes it.

How DataSuckers allegedly operated
Reporting describes DataSuckers as financially motivated rather than politically aligned. The group allegedly broke into corporate networks, copied data, disrupted or destroyed systems where possible, and demanded money while threatening to sell the stolen files. That characterization comes from the group’s public posture and its reported targets, not from a judicial finding about the operators’ motives.
Kommersant reported allegations that credentials exposed on GitHub provided a route into connected corporate systems, cloud storage and databases. Investigators reportedly traced Friedman after a home IP address appeared while stolen data was being accessed. These are media-reported allegations; no independent forensic report has publicly verified the intrusion path.

What is known about the ATB Market claim?
Hacker Posts reported that ATB confirmed an attack on October 5, 2026. DataSuckers reportedly sought $400,000 and claimed data from 7.9 million customers. ATB disputed the loss of customer data, so the number is an attacker-supplied claim rather than an established breach total.
The incident is significant because it places a Ukrainian retailer alongside the Russian companies named in reporting about DataSuckers. It does not, by itself, show that the group was state-sponsored or pursuing a political objective. The available accounts support a cross-border victim list, while the extent of the Ukrainian data loss remains unresolved.
Did the group target Ukraine or Russia?
Public reporting links DataSuckers to alleged victims in both countries. Dodo Pizza and Tez Tour are Russian companies; ATB Market is Ukrainian. The group reportedly communicated mainly in Russian and claimed victims on both sides of the border. That geography and language are observable characteristics of the reported campaigns, not proof of nationality, allegiance or state direction.

- ATB confirmed an attack but disputed that customer data was lost, leaving the 7.9-million figure contested.
What happened after the arrests?
Friedman’s reported house arrest is the only publicly documented court measure. There is no reported conviction, and the public record reviewed does not identify the other two alleged detainees or describe charges against them individually.
An account identified by Syndicate as @latcert said: «Никаких комментариев по этому поводу давать не будем, Datasuckers как бренд закончил свое существование еще 11 октября до задержания.» In context, the statement says the DataSuckers brand ended on October 11, before the arrests. Syndicate cautioned that this addresses the name or branding and does not prove every alleged participant stopped operating.
