The reported “infinite money” method in Mortal Shell II is an apparent Gloom-and-material reset involving chests in the late-game Hidden Nave. It is anecdotal, and player reports say a PC patch may have stopped it. Official patch notes confirm that some infinite-resource exploits have been fixed, but do not establish whether this particular chest behavior is patched on every platform.
What the Hidden Nave farm reportedly does
A player described opening more than 60 chests in the Hidden Nave, collecting Gloom and materials including Futilium, leaving to spend the Gloom, and returning to find the chests and materials replenished. The Hidden Nave is described as a late-game area near the final boss. That account is one player’s experience, not a verified yield or a repeatable result for every save.
Replies to the report suggest different ways of leaving and returning: some mention exiting to the main menu and continuing at the Beacon, while others describe using a dungeon door or teleporter. The accounts do not establish one tested sequence, so treat these as reported possibilities rather than guaranteed instructions. Read the player discussion.

It may depend on the build and platform. A commenter in the discussion says a recent PC patch fixed the chest reset. Separately, official update notes confirm fixes for an infinite Ossinite farm and a Grisha that respawned indefinitely in a dungeon. Those notes do not specifically confirm whether the Hidden Nave chest behavior was fixed on every platform.
Because the reports conflict and the official notes do not settle this exact case, there is no reliable universal “infinite Gloom” sequence to promise. If you want to check your own build, note your platform and version, try the reported exit-and-return behavior only if you are comfortable with an exploit-like route, and verify whether the chests actually refill before investing time in it. Do not rely on the reported chest count or assume the same behavior will occur on another platform.

- THEIR FLESH IS YOUR WEAPON: The corpses of exceptional warriors are scattered throughout Mortal Shell 2’s destroyed world. Once discovered, each warrior can be possessed, awakening their innate strengths and mastered abilities. Evolve your own style of combat by harnessing the unique abilities of each warrior and unlock their secrets through the discovery of lost memories.
- CLEANSE A RAVAGED WORLD: Mortal Shell 2’s compact open world connects over winding footpaths guarded by desperate and fanatical adversaries. Players who wander are rewarded with new warriors to possess, additional story elements, powerful and strange weaponry, upgrades, curiosities and more. Step through derelict temples of ancient deities, across forbidden forests and icy graves, into citadels carved out of bone. Scattered between these lost landmarks are more than 60 dungeons, each providing a challenging test of the talents and weaponry you have collected on your journey.
- DETHRONE FALSE GODS: You control the Harbinger, a being that must reclaim the Undermether’s stolen eggs that are now ruthlessly guarded by grotesque, dangerous creatures. Mortal Shell 2’s combat system is agile and expressive. Stamina gauges are removed, and execution options have been enhanced, delivering a kinetic and chaotic dark power fantasy. Precision meets intensity in high-stakes combat.
If it no longer works, farm with less risk
Use a repeatable route close to a Beacon rather than making a long run with a large amount of unbanked Gloom. If you die and drop Gloom, prioritize recovering it before taking another risky route. Pick a route whose enemies and hazards you can handle consistently, then spend the currency on an upgrade that addresses your next obstacle.
- Set a concrete goal: choose a Shell or weapon upgrade you intend to buy, instead of farming indefinitely without a spending target.
- Keep the return trip manageable: favor a route near a Beacon so you can recover dropped Gloom without repeating a difficult stretch.
- Consider the risk before increasing difficulty: a third-party guide recommends Night Mode as a way to raise drops, but also notes that mistakes become more costly. It does not provide a guaranteed Gloom rate. See the guide’s early-game advice.
Mortal Shell II is a standalone single-player action RPG from Cold Symmetry, published by Playstack. Its official listing describes weapon upgrades, eight warrior Shells, and an interconnected world; the Hidden Nave chest reset remains a player-reported behavior rather than a documented farming feature.
