Find Strange Remnant by defeating the optional Strange Grisha miniboss on an island in Withered Shoals. Follow the area’s main path along the right side until a Bone Gate launches you to the island. The reward is a Tarstone ability that costs 15 Resolve and fires projectiles that chain between targets. The cited guides do not establish a separate material recipe for upgrading Strange Remnant.
Where to find Strange Remnant
- Enter Withered Shoals and follow the main path, keeping to the right.
- Continue until you reach a Bone Gate. It launches you to an isolated island; Strange Grisha is there.
- Defeat Strange Grisha to earn Strange Remnant. This is an optional encounter, not a required step in the area’s main progression.
PowerPyx identifies Strange Grisha as the source of the item, and the walkthrough from the route guide places the encounter before the Hexapod section. The Bone Gate route and miniboss reward are also described by PowerPyx.
What Strange Remnant does
Strange Remnant is a Tarstone ability. Using it spends 15 Resolve to unleash projectiles that chain between multiple targets. Gamer Guides lists the following rank effects:

Does Strange Remnant need upgrade materials?
The available item and route guides do not document a material recipe or a separate material-based upgrade path for Strange Remnant. In particular, do not treat Ventrium, Laterite, or Dorsalite as a confirmed Strange Remnant upgrade cost.
Keep the Dorsalite pickup separate
The walkthrough notes a loose Dorsalite pickup in the arena and describes Dorsalite as a weapon-upgrade material. It is a separate pickup, not a stated cost to improve Strange Remnant. If you want it, collect it before leaving the island.
