The modern web is read by people and interpreted by search engines, social platforms, recommendation systems, and AI applications. The practical response is not to write for algorithms instead of readers: make a page easy to understand, navigate, and classify, while keeping the reader’s purpose in charge.
What changed about publishing on the web?
The web is no longer just a collection of pages a person finds and reads in isolation. Content may also be encountered by systems that index, recommend, summarize, or connect it to other material. As MXI.Studio puts it in “How I think around the modern WEB”, “It was not that the Internet got worse; it grew.”
That wider environment changes the practical demands on a page. A reader may arrive from a search result, a social post, a recommendation, or an AI response—and may land on a section deep within the page. The page should make its subject and the relationships among its ideas clear without assuming that everyone starts at the top.
How can a page make its meaning clear?
Use a precise title and descriptive headings
A title should tell readers what the page is about, and headings should describe the ideas that follow. Organize related points together so that someone scanning the page can find the section they need and understand how it fits the subject. Headings are navigation and explanation, not a place to repeat keywords for their own sake.

Give each idea enough context to stand on its own
Readers may enter partway through. Name the subject clearly, explain unfamiliar terms when they matter, and make transitions between related ideas explicit. A section should remain understandable when encountered on its own, but still contribute to the page’s larger explanation.
Make authorship and sourcing visible
Readers need to know who is responsible for a page and where its important claims come from. Visible authorship and sourcing help people assess the material and understand its basis; they are part of clear communication, not a promise that a page will rank or be recommended.
Why connect related pages?
A useful article does not have to function as an isolated destination. Links to genuinely related pages can help readers move from an introduction to a deeper explanation, or from one concept to another. Organizing a set of articles around a coherent topic also gives readers context for how the pages relate.
Make links meaningful: the surrounding text should explain what a reader will find by following one. Add a link because it helps someone navigate or understand—not simply to increase the number of links on the page.

How should discoverability fit into the writing?
Structure and discoverability matter when they serve comprehension. Clear titles, descriptive sections, context, sourcing, and relevant links help communicate what a page contains. They do not guarantee search rankings, recommendations, or inclusion in an AI-generated answer; the source offers editorial guidance, not performance measurements.
Keep the test straightforward: would the page still be useful and clear to the person who came looking for this information? If a title, introduction, word count, or link exists mainly to satisfy a metric and makes the experience worse, it has displaced the purpose of publishing.
