Five heroes of one type provide the highest current Attribute Resonance bonus: +25% HP and +25% Attack. That is not automatically the best team, however. A 3+2 formation can win more often when the second type supplies the tank, healer, control, energy support, or damage profile your first five lack. Build the strongest role-balanced lineup your account can actually upgrade, then confirm the active Resonance in the in-game panel after every balance patch.
What faction bonuses do in Mobile Legends: Adventure
Mobile Legends: Adventure uses hero types (often called factions by players) to reward particular combinations in a five-hero formation. The bonus is called Attribute Resonance in the current Hero Type reference. It increases team statistics when enough heroes share a type, so the type pattern matters before combat begins.
The official store description presents the game as a mobile idle RPG with “100+ heroes of 7 types” and says that team compositions and strategy are key. That scale is why there is no permanently correct five-hero lineup: a campaign stage, tower floor, boss, and player-versus-player fight can each favor a different mix of damage, control, durability, and sustain.
Resonance is therefore a starting framework, not a substitute for team construction. A perfectly matching group of weak or poorly developed heroes can perform worse than a mixed group built around your strongest tank and support. Treat the percentage as one part of the decision and role coverage as the other.

Current Attribute Resonance thresholds
The live Hero Type table lists four standard thresholds. These are the values to use when comparing current teams; older guides may use a different system or different numbers.

The percentages are team-wide attributes shown by the current reference. They do not mean that every hero in the group must be equally strong, nor do they guarantee a win against a countering enemy lineup. A five-type formation wins on raw resonance, while a 3+2 formation gives up some of that statistical ceiling to gain access to a better skill package.
Is five of one type better than a 3+2 team?
Use five of one type when your roster contains five heroes who cover the essential jobs and are close enough in development to fight together. It gives the largest HP and Attack increase and is easy to understand when the same-type heroes are already your account’s deepest group.
Choose 3+2 when the fifth same-type slot would force a major role loss. Typical examples include a main damage dealer whose type does not match your front line, a healer needed to survive a long campaign battle, or a control hero that prevents an enemy ultimate. The mixed formation still grants +15% HP and +18% Attack, so it is not giving up resonance entirely.

The practical rule is simple: compare the complete formations, not the bonus in isolation. If replacing one support with a same-type attacker causes the team to die before it can deal damage, the extra resonance is theoretical value rather than useful power.
How to build a five-hero team around resonance
1. Start with the job the stage is asking for
Identify the failure that is stopping progress. If your frontline collapses immediately, begin with a durable anchor. If enemies survive while your group remains healthy, begin with sustained or burst damage. If a dangerous enemy casts first, prioritize control or energy support. If battles reach a timer or late phase, add healing, shielding, or another form of sustain.

Do this before sorting by type. A resonance screen cannot tell you whether your formation has enough protection or control for a particular encounter.

A five-hero team needs a hero who can occupy the frontline long enough for the rest of the formation to use its skills. The anchor may be a dedicated tank or a durable hybrid, depending on your roster. Do not remove a proven frontliner solely to reach five matching heroes if the replacement causes immediate defeats.
3. Add a primary damage source
Choose the hero that converts survival time into progress. Some stages reward sustained damage, while others require a burst window or area control. The damage dealer’s type determines whether a 5-of-one-type or 3+2 pattern is realistic, but the hero’s actual development and matchup remain more important than a nominally perfect pattern.
4. Fill sustain and control needs
Healing, shielding, energy assistance, disabling effects, and secondary damage all compete for the remaining slots. A support from a second type can be the correct fifth member even when four heroes already match. Conversely, if your same-type group contains a strong healer and control specialist, five matching heroes become much more attractive.
5. Check the active pattern in the Resonance panel
Place the five candidates in the formation and open the game’s Resonance or Hero Type information panel. Confirm the displayed HP and Attack values rather than relying on a memory of an old guide. This also catches hybrid and special-type interactions that are easy to miscount manually.
6. Test the formation, then change one variable at a time
When a team loses, replace only one hero or move one role at a time. You can then identify whether the problem was insufficient damage, missing control, a fragile frontline, or a resonance trade-off. Changing several heroes simultaneously hides the cause and makes upgrade decisions harder.

Order heroes: flexible resonance fillers
Order heroes can form Resonance with heroes of any other type. That makes them useful when you are one slot short of a desired structure. An Order hero can help complete a 3+2 or 4+1 arrangement without demanding that the rest of your roster be rebuilt around a narrow type.
Use the in-game panel to see which eligible pattern produces the strongest result for the exact five heroes you selected. The flexibility does not make every Order hero interchangeable: role, level, evolution, and skill utility still determine whether the slot improves the battle.
Chaos heroes: evaluate their separate bonuses
Chaos heroes cannot form Attribute Resonance. Do not count one as an ordinary same-type member when you are trying to reach three, four, or five matching heroes. Instead, Chaos contributes a separate lineup bonus once enough Chaos heroes are present.

The wording “more than” is important: the first listed effect requires at least two Chaos heroes, the next at least three, and so on. Because a normal formation has five positions, only the thresholds that your lineup can physically reach are relevant. A Chaos-heavy formation should be judged by the value of these effects and the heroes’ individual skills, not by an Attribute Resonance number it cannot activate.
Hybrids and mixed-type calculations
Hybrid heroes use the type that produces the strongest eligible Resonance. Their presence can change which pattern the game recognizes, so manual counting may give the wrong answer. If a hybrid appears to be missing from the expected total, open the Resonance panel with the final five heroes placed; the displayed result is the authoritative one for that lineup.
Hybrids are especially useful when you are deciding between a four-hero core and a mixed 3+2 team. They may preserve a higher resonance while also supplying a role that the single-type roster lacks. That advantage is conditional on the game’s current classification and can change with updates, which is another reason to verify the live panel.

Worked example: an Elemental campaign formation
A community campaign guide illustrates a role-balanced, free-to-play-friendly lineup with Valir, Angela, Hylos, Estes, and Harley. It is an example of construction logic, not a universal tier list.

- Hylos: the solo frontliner, giving the backline time to operate.
- Valir: primary damage with control utility.
- Estes: sustained healing for a campaign fight that lasts long enough for recovery to matter.
- Angela: support that adds sustain or utility around the core.
- Harley: additional control or damage, helping the group handle threats that are not solved by raw durability alone.
The lesson is not that these five names are always optimal. The lesson is that a lineup can be attractive because its jobs fit together and its heroes are obtainable through accessible progression routes. If your account has a stronger tank, a more developed carry, or a stage-specific counter from another type, a 3+2 formation may be the better answer even when this example suggests a different resonance pattern.
Faction cores suggested for free-to-play progression
A free-to-play guide recommends building a limited core rather than spreading evolution resources across every type. Its examples are useful as starting pools, but they are guide opinions and should be checked against current balance and your own copies.

These names do not establish a universal ranking. Hero balance, copies, equipment, and the enemy lineup can change which member deserves a slot. The value of the guide’s faction lists is that they provide a manageable pool from which to form a coherent core.

The same free-to-play guidance recommends actively working on only one or two heroes in a type at a time. Evolution materials spread across too many units slow the point at which any one hero becomes a dependable part of the formation.

Prioritize the roles that are currently blocking progress, not merely the type with the largest theoretical bonus.
- Concentrate copies and evolution materials. Build a limited core so your frontline and main damage source do not lag behind the account’s overall level.
- Use sanctuary or an equivalent system for secondary heroes. Keep situational supports and alternate-type counters usable without diverting the main progression budget.
- Reassess when a new copy changes the power gap. A newly developed hero from a second type may justify moving from five matching heroes to 3+2, or vice versa.
This approach also prevents a common trap: selecting a five-of-one-type team because the percentage looks impressive, then discovering that two members are far below the rest of the account. A smaller resonance bonus attached to developed heroes is usually the more practical investment.

Adapt the five heroes to the game mode
Campaign
Campaign stages often reward a stable frontline, repeatable damage, and enough healing or control to survive multiple enemy skill cycles. The Valir–Angela–Hylos–Estes–Harley example fits that general problem, but stage-specific threats can justify a different type split.
Tower content
Tower floors can punish a formation that lacks a particular answer, such as control against a dangerous caster or extra durability against a burst opener. Preserve the strongest available counter even if it changes a five-type group into 3+2 or 4+1.
Boss encounters
Bosses may value sustained single-target damage and survivability more than broad crowd control. Compare how long your carry remains active and whether your support package keeps the team alive; a higher Attack percentage does not help if the damage dealer is disabled or defeated early.

Player-versus-player fights are matchup-sensitive. Speed of control, burst timing, anti-backline pressure, and defensive layering can outweigh a few percentage points of resonance. Keep alternate heroes available through sanctuary or similar systems so you can change one role without dismantling your main progression team.
Common mistakes and how to correct them
- Counting Chaos as a normal type: remove it from Attribute Resonance calculations and evaluate its separate bonuses instead.
- Ignoring Order flexibility: test an Order hero when you are one slot short of a useful 3+2 or 4+1 pattern.
- Using historical numbers: replace old “Power Resonance” tables with the current Hero Type panel, which lists the thresholds in this article.
- Building every recommended hero at once: limit active investment to a small core so your main five gain power faster.
- Changing the entire team after one loss: swap one hero or role at a time and observe what improves.
- Assuming a guide lineup is a tier list: treat community examples as demonstrations of role balance, then account for your copies, upgrades, and enemy matchup.
- Failing to recheck after a patch: place the final five heroes in the live Resonance panel because classifications and balance can change.
Why older guides show different bonuses
An older Gamer Empire guide calls the system “Power Resonance” and lists historical formations for Light, Dark, Elemental, Tech, Martial, Chaos, Life, Create, Order, and Fuse. Its numerical values differ from the current Hero Type table. Those figures describe an earlier ruleset and should not be used to plan a present-day lineup.
When an old guide conflicts with the game client, use the current in-game Resonance display as the practical authority. Keep the historical terminology only as a search clue when reading older discussions; do not combine its percentages with the current thresholds.
A quick decision checklist
- Do I have five developed heroes of one type that cover frontline, damage, and sustain or control?
- If not, which second-type hero fixes the largest role gap?
- Would the 3+2 pattern’s +15% HP and +18% Attack be more useful than a fragile five-type group?
- Is an Order hero able to complete a stronger eligible pattern?
- Am I evaluating Chaos for its separate bonuses rather than counting it toward Attribute Resonance?
- Are the five heroes close enough in development that the resonance can be converted into actual wins?
- Does this mode require a different damage, control, sustain, or anti-backline profile?
- What does the current in-game Resonance panel show after all five heroes are placed?
Bottom line for choosing your next lineup
Five same-type heroes are the statistical maximum at +25% HP and +25% Attack, so use that formation when the five heroes are genuinely complete and upgradeable. Otherwise, build around the strongest roles your roster can support. A 3+2 team still receives a meaningful +15% HP and +18% Attack and can outperform a nominally perfect group when the second type supplies the tank, healer, control, energy help, or damage your first type lacks. Order is a flexible filler, Chaos follows a separate bonus track, and every final choice should be checked in the live Resonance panel for the mode you are playing.
