There is no random weapon-stat reroll documented in the official mo.co material reviewed. The progression system described by Supercell uses Upgrade Cores: you equip a core to boost a weapon, fuse lower-tier cores into higher tiers, and replace an equipped core only with a higher-tier core. To improve your gear without wasting resources, choose the effect that fits your weapon, check the tier cost before fusing, and verify the live beta client before committing anything.

What “weapon rerolling” means in mo.co

Players often use “reroll” to mean spending a currency to randomize a weapon’s secondary stats until a better combination appears. Supercell’s accessible mo.co documentation does not describe that feature. Its published system is deterministic core progression rather than a random-stat reroll: Upgrade Cores provide a listed effect, can be fused into higher tiers, and follow a one-way replacement rule once equipped.

That distinction matters because a reroll strategy encourages you to spend resources repeatedly for a lucky outcome. The documented system rewards a different approach: decide which combat attribute your weapon needs, accumulate the appropriate core type, and fuse only when the resulting tier is useful for your build.

The important beta warning before you spend anything

Mo.co has returned to a beta development stage with low-maintenance updates. Supercell says new weapons will not be released in following seasons, and seasonal passes will not include a premium track or weapons. More importantly for progression, the team says non-cosmetic progress—including Weapons and Cores—remains under evaluation because a future version may use a different progression loop.

  • Refined bumpers and D-pad. Light but tactile.

The announcement does not confirm the date of the next update; it says the team is aiming to launch it before the end of 2026. The page displays “September 24” without a year in its body, so that date should not be treated as a dated version marker.

“We’ll only reset progress if absolutely necessary, as future versions of the game may have a very different progression loop.”

How the documented Upgrade Core system works

Core boosts are attached to a weapon

Supercell’s release notes state that an Upgrade Core gives a weapon a power boost of up to 20%. The notes do not present this as a randomized roll. Each core belongs to a named effect category, so the decision is about selecting an effect and tier rather than gambling for an invisible stat line.

Core replacement is tier-gated

Once a core is equipped, the release notes say it can be replaced only by an Upgrade Core of a higher tier. A same-tier core is not described as an acceptable swap. This makes premature equipment costly: putting a core on a weapon can lock that slot until you obtain a stronger tier, even if you later prefer a different effect.

Fusion creates higher tiers

Lower-tier cores are consumed to produce one core at the next named tier. The published conversion ratios are:

Inputs Result What the ratio means
20 Semi-Charged cores 1 Charged core Twenty lower-tier items are consumed for one next-tier core.
10 Charged cores 1 Overcharged core Ten Charged cores are consumed for one Overcharged core.
5 Overcharged cores 1 Megacharged core Five Overcharged cores are consumed for one Megacharged core.

Viewed from the bottom tier, a single Megacharged core requires 5 × 10 × 20 = 1,000 Semi-Charged cores if every step uses the published ratios. That is a conversion calculation, not a claim about drop rates or the fastest farming route. The practical lesson is to count the inventory you will consume before pressing Fuse.

Choosing the core type

The notes list eight effect categories:

Core effect Usually helps when your weapon needs…
Damage More direct damage per attack or ability.
Critical damage A build that already creates frequent critical hits.
Attack speed Faster basic attacks or a weapon whose output scales with hit frequency.
Cooldown More frequent ability use.
Healing More healing produced by your own effects.
Healing received Greater benefit from incoming heals or team support.
Maximum health A larger health pool for surviving burst damage.
Dodge More value from avoiding attacks rather than absorbing them.

The table describes the categories named in the release notes; it does not establish the exact percentage, scaling formula, or priority for every weapon. Read the current in-game description for those details.

Understanding the fusion bill before committing

The ratios are easiest to underestimate when you look only at the next step. One Charged core costs 20 Semi-Charged cores. One Overcharged core costs 10 Charged cores, or 200 Semi-Charged cores if you build it entirely from the bottom tier. One Megacharged core costs five Overcharged cores: 50 Charged cores or 1,000 Semi-Charged cores. This multiplication is why a “small” upgrade can consume the inventory built over many activities.

Write down the target tier, the core effect, and the number of lower-tier items required before opening the fusion confirmation. If you are short, keep the lower-tier items rather than fusing partial batches with no immediate use. The notes do not promise that a failed or unwanted fusion can be undone, and the higher-tier replacement rule makes an accidental equip particularly difficult to correct.

Also separate cores by purpose in your planning. A damage core for your main weapon, a cooldown core for an ability-focused backup, and a health core for a survival loadout are different goals even if they use the same tier names. Do not count every core in your inventory as available for one project when some are reserved for another weapon.

A safe procedure for improving a weapon

  1. Inspect the live weapon screen. Confirm that the weapon has a core slot, note the core currently equipped, and read the client’s displayed effect and tier. If your build or menu differs from older guides, trust the current client over historical screenshots.
  2. Define the combat problem. Decide whether you are dying before an ability cycle, missing damage checks, waiting too long for cooldowns, or failing to capitalize on critical hits. Pick the category that addresses that problem instead of choosing the rarest-looking core.
  3. Compare the available tier with the equipped tier. If a core is already installed, replacement is documented as requiring a higher tier. Do not fuse a pile merely to obtain a different same-tier effect; the published rule does not say that this will replace the equipped one.
  4. Calculate the fusion bill. Use the 20-to-1, 10-to-1, and 5-to-1 ratios. Keep enough lower-tier cores for another weapon or for a future balance change unless the upgrade is immediately useful.
  5. Check the effect type before confirming fusion. The notes say players can fuse for the same core type or choose a random type. Select same-type fusion when preserving a known build is more important than taking a chance on a different category; choose a random type only when you accept the uncertainty and have a reason to broaden your options.
  6. Equip only after the decision is final. Because the documented replacement rule is higher-tier-only, treat equipping as a commitment. Verify the target weapon and core one more time before confirming.
  7. Test the result in the activities you actually play. Compare survivability, ability frequency, or damage feel in representative missions. Do not infer a precise percentage from a single fight; the published 20% figure is a stated maximum boost, not a guarantee that every core or weapon reaches it.

Comparing core choices without a reroll mindset

Comparison Question to ask Resource implication
Damage vs. attack speed Is each hit powerful, or does the weapon scale with repeated hits and on-hit effects? Choose the category that improves the weapon’s normal rotation; neither is universally best.
Damage vs. cooldown Do abilities decide clear speed, crowd control, or emergency defense? Cooldown may produce more value over a long encounter, while damage may help every attack.
Offense vs. defense Are failures caused by a damage check or by being defeated first? Survival effects can save a run even when their sheet value looks less exciting.
Known type vs. random type Do you need a specific effect or are you exploring options? Same-type fusion protects a plan; random type trades certainty for variety.
Current weapon vs. backup Which weapon will remain in your regular loadout? Spend scarce high-tier inputs on the weapon you actually expect to use.

This comparison is a decision aid, not a ranking. The official notes do not publish a universal formula that makes one effect superior on every weapon, mission, or team composition.

Where Upgrade Cores came from in the documented version

Defeated monsters

Supercell’s release notes name defeated monsters as one source of Upgrade Cores. The notes do not provide a universal drop rate, so no reliable number of missions can be promised. Use the reward display in your current client to determine whether a particular activity still pays cores.

Weapon Sprints

Weapon Sprints were documented as a source of cores. A seasonal announcement also described weapons being unlocked in Weapon Sprints, with P.E.R.K.s and Upgrade Core Bundles among the possible rewards. Those details describe a historical seasonal setup. The later beta announcement’s low-maintenance plan means a sprint, bundle, or weapon reward may not be active in the current build.

P.E.R.K.s

P.E.R.K.s were described as random-reward items earned from Weapon Sprints, with rarer rewards having lower drop rates. They are therefore not a dependable substitute for a specific core type: even when the activity exists, the reward pool and rarity determine what you receive.

Weapon Mastery and Elite Contracts

Mastery update notes said Weapon Mastery progress did not reset with seasons and that Elite Contract milestones rewarded Upgrade Cores. This gives you a route to check if the current client still exposes those milestones. It should not be treated as a permanent guarantee, because the beta announcement explicitly places weapon and core progression under evaluation.

How to avoid the most expensive mistakes

Do not fuse toward a tier you cannot use

A Megacharged target consumes 1,000 Semi-Charged inputs under the published chain. If the resulting effect is not appropriate for your weapon, the opportunity cost is enormous. Reserve high-tier fusion for a weapon you expect to keep using and an effect you can explain in terms of your build.

Do not confuse rarity with suitability

A higher tier is stronger within the documented progression, but a defensive effect can outperform a damage effect when a mission’s failure point is survival. Conversely, maximum health does not solve a cooldown bottleneck. Start with the failure condition, then choose the category.

Do not equip a temporary core casually

The higher-tier-only replacement rule means a same-tier upgrade is not documented as a legal swap. If you are still testing weapons, keep the core in inventory until you know which weapon and effect you want to commit to.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Do not assume old seasonal rewards are still live

Older guides may list a specific Weapon Sprint, bundle, or mastery payout as if it were permanent. The beta transition makes those instructions time-sensitive. Look for the activity in the current event and reward screens before planning a farming session around it.

Do not spend based on a missing or renamed menu

If your client does not show a reroll control, a listed core type, or a familiar fusion option, stop rather than substituting another currency. The official beta notice says progression may change; a missing control can indicate a redesign, not a hidden prerequisite.

Choosing between core effects by playstyle

Damage versus attack speed

Damage is the straightforward choice when each hit or ability is already valuable. Attack speed is more attractive when the weapon’s output depends on repeated attacks, on-hit effects, or quickly building a resource. Without a published weapon-by-weapon formula, compare both in the actual client rather than assuming one category always wins.

Critical damage

Critical damage has the greatest logical value when your weapon or build already produces critical hits consistently. If critical events are rare, a general damage or attack-speed effect may contribute more often. The release notes identify the category but do not publish a universal critical-hit rate for every weapon.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Cooldown

Cooldown is useful when your ability cycle determines clear speed, crowd control, or emergency defense. It is less valuable if your mission plan is dominated by basic attacks and you routinely finish encounters before the ability becomes available again.

Healing, healing received, health, and dodge

These are not interchangeable defenses. Healing improves the amount your effects restore; healing received improves the benefit of incoming support; maximum health increases the damage you can take before defeat; dodge helps you avoid damage entirely. Choose according to whether your losses come from insufficient recovery, a small health buffer, or failed movement.

What to do if an expected reroll or upgrade option is missing

  1. Check the build and mode. Confirm that you are viewing the weapon’s progression panel rather than a cosmetic or loadout screen.
  2. Read the current core tooltip. Names, tiers, and effect labels may have changed during beta development.
  3. Verify the replacement condition. If the installed core is higher tier than the one in your inventory, the documented system would not allow that replacement.
  4. Check whether the activity is currently scheduled. Weapon Sprints and seasonal rewards were time-dependent in the documented version.
  5. Do not infer a bug from an old guide. The official team has warned that the progression loop may change and has not confirmed every future update detail.

What is established—and what is not

Established in Supercell’s published material is the existence of Upgrade Cores, a maximum stated boost of 20%, the named effect categories, the three fusion ratios, and higher-tier-only replacement. The same material identifies monsters, Weapon Sprints, and P.E.R.K.s as core sources, while the mastery notes identify Elite Contract milestones as a reward route in that update.

Not established by those pages is a current universal reroll button, exact live drop rates, a permanent schedule for Weapon Sprints, a guaranteed core type from a particular activity, or a weapon-specific ranking of effects. Those details require confirmation in the current beta client. Planning around unsupported assumptions is precisely how a large core inventory gets wasted.

Practical decision checklist

  • Is the desired weapon and its progression screen present in the current beta?
  • Which combat problem are you solving: damage, attack frequency, cooldown, recovery, health, or avoidance?
  • Is the candidate core a higher tier than the one equipped?
  • How many lower-tier cores will the fusion consume?
  • Are you preserving enough inventory for another weapon or a future progression change?
  • Does the current activity still list the reward route you planned to use?
  • Have you read the final effect and target weapon before confirming?

If you can answer those questions, you are using the documented mo.co progression system as efficiently as the available information allows. If you cannot, keep the cores unspent until the client makes the missing condition clear.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I reroll a weapon in mo.co?

No random weapon-stat reroll button is described in Supercell’s accessible mo.co notes. The documented path is to equip an Upgrade Core, fuse cores into higher tiers, and replace an equipped core only with a higher-tier core. Check the current beta client in case that system has changed.

What is the maximum Upgrade Core boost?

The release notes state that Upgrade Cores can provide a weapon power boost of up to 20%. That is a published maximum, not a promise that every weapon or core reaches 20%.

How many Semi-Charged cores make a Megacharged core?

Using the published ratios, 20 Semi-Charged make one Charged, 10 Charged make one Overcharged, and five Overcharged make one Megacharged. The full chain therefore consumes 1,000 Semi-Charged cores.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Can I replace an equipped core with another core of the same tier?

The documented rule says an equipped core can be replaced only by a higher-tier Upgrade Core. A same-tier replacement is not described as valid, so avoid equipping a temporary core while you are still deciding.

Should I fuse for the same core type or choose a random type?

Use same-type fusion when you need a known effect for a specific build. Choose a random type only when you accept uncertainty and want to expand your options. The notes describe both choices but do not identify one as universally more efficient.

Where can I get Upgrade Cores?

The documented sources are defeated monsters, Weapon Sprints, and P.E.R.K.s. Mastery update notes also described Upgrade Cores from Elite Contract milestones. These routes are historical guidance; the beta transition means you must confirm that each activity and reward still exists.

Why is my Weapon Sprint or core bundle missing?

Weapon Sprints and seasonal bundles were time-dependent rewards. Supercell says mo.co is operating in beta with low-maintenance seasonal content, so an older sprint or bundle may no longer be active rather than being locked behind an undiscovered requirement.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What should I do before fusing a large core stockpile?

Open the current weapon and core screens, identify the combat problem, confirm the target effect and tier, calculate the 20-to-1, 10-to-1, or 5-to-1 cost, and reserve enough inventory for other weapons or future changes. Do not confirm until the target and effect are correct.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: Treat mo.co gear improvement as Upgrade Core planning, not a slot-machine reroll. Match the effect to your weapon, calculate the fusion cost, remember that replacement requires a higher tier, and verify every reward route in the live beta before spending.
