The game described in the supplied title is being reported as Jantar Mantar Chalo, not “Mission Dharna.” It is a satirical 3D web game in which players either organize a procession to Delhi’s Jantar Mantar and hold a dharna, or play a Delhi Police officer trying to stop them. Its central joke is simple: the friction of reaching a protest site is turned into a full game system, complete with barricades, detention buses, closed metro gates, potholes, cows and snack breaks.
What is Jantar Mantar Chalo?
Jantar Mantar Chalo is a two-sided protest simulation built around a familiar Delhi political scenario: people attempting to reach the designated protest area at Jantar Mantar while authorities deploy barriers and police operations. The demonstrator, or andolankari, must gather people into a moving kafila, navigate obstacles and arrive at the protest ground before beginning a dharna. The police player has the opposite objective—prevent the procession from reaching its destination.
The title “Mission Dharna” appears to be an editorial framing label rather than a confirmed official or alternate name. Current reporting identifies the game as Jantar Mantar Chalo, so searches for the project should use that name.

| Role | Objective | Movement and tools | Failure state |
|---|---|---|---|
| Andolankari (protester) | Recruit participants, move the kafila through the city, reach the designated protest area and hold a dharna. | Navigate barricades and street hazards; stop at tea stalls; eat golgappas to restore stamina; use a gamchha to evade CCTV. | The march is delayed, dispersed or detained before it reaches Jantar Mantar. |
| Delhi Police | Stop demonstrators from arriving at the protest site. | Deploy lathis and tear gas, detain protesters and transport them in police buses. | Demonstrators get through the defenses and establish the protest. |
This structure makes the game more than a one-directional obstacle course. One side treats public mobilization as a logistics problem; the other treats crowd control as a timed interception problem. The opposing goals also let players see the same route from two political and operational perspectives.

Why the satire depends on ordinary Delhi problems
The comedy comes from placing recognizable civic inconveniences inside a high-stakes mission. Closed metro gates can become a strategic detour. Internet-disruption pop-ups interrupt progress. Potholes, overflowing garbage bins and cows in the road function like hazards in an arcade game, even though they are mundane parts of navigating the city.
Detention is treated with the same exaggerated game logic. Protesters may be taken to Narela or the Kapashera border, while Burari and Kapashera grounds appear as temporary detention centres. The result is deliberately absurd: a player can be trying to reach a nationally significant protest site one moment and dealing with a blocked route or a cow the next.

Food and clothing items sharpen that contrast. Tea stalls provide a pause in the journey, golgappas restore stamina and a gamchha can help the protester evade CCTV. These are not generic power-ups transplanted into an anonymous game world; they are locally legible details that make the joke work for anyone familiar with Delhi’s streets, public services and protest culture.
Who made the game?

Kushwah said AI tools, including Claude, assisted with parts of the coding, while other tools helped with artwork. He has described the central concept and gameplay design as his own, distinguishing the use of automation for production tasks from the idea that gives the game its identity.
Explaining the concept to NDTV, Kushwah said: “I was inspired by news coverage of recent calls for marches towards Jantar Mantar and wanted to create a 3D game in which players would have to navigate police deployments and find their way to the protest site. I was quite worried about the current situation in the national capital. It’s causing a lot of discomfort for a lot of people.”

Release date and early audience
Reuters reported that Jantar Mantar Chalo was released on October 14, 2026. The report also quoted Kushwah saying that at least 2,000 people were playing at any point in time. That figure is the creator’s estimate, not an independently audited player count, so it should be read as an early signal of interest rather than an official active-user measurement.

Is it a realistic protest simulator?
Not in the conventional simulation-game sense. The premise draws on real reporting about people being detained while attempting to reach Jantar Mantar, and the route is built from recognizable protest controls and city infrastructure. But the design intentionally exaggerates the everyday obstacles and turns them into comic systems.
That balance is the point. Lathi charges, tear gas and detention buses sit alongside golgappas, tea stalls, garbage and cows. The game does not present a neutral operational model of policing or protest; it uses game mechanics to expose how surreal a politically serious journey can feel when bureaucracy, infrastructure failures and crowd-control measures collide.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsWhat to know before playing
- Search for Jantar Mantar Chalo; “Mission Dharna” has not been confirmed as the official title.
- Choose between the andolankari and Delhi Police roles, which have opposing objectives rather than different difficulty settings for the same campaign.
- Expect satire built from Delhi-specific references, not a historically comprehensive account of protest law or police procedure.
- Treat the reported 2,000-player figure as a creator-reported estimate tied to the game’s early release period.
The Bottom Line
Jantar Mantar Chalo turns the journey to a protest site into a two-sided, darkly comic game. Its strongest material comes from the collision of real political tension with very ordinary Delhi chaos—and from a creator who used AI-assisted production tools without surrendering the game’s central idea.
