Mint is no longer an active Android budgeting app: Intuit announced in October 2023 that it was going away and moving users toward Credit Karma. PocketGuard is a current Android option, but it is a separate product—not a direct continuation of Mint. Former Mint users can import a Mint CSV into PocketGuard, then review the category and account matches before relying on the history.

Mint and PocketGuard are not two current Android apps to compare

Intuit announced on October 31, 2023, “Mint is going away, and we have phased communications and user migration by design.” The announcement pointed users toward Credit Karma; it does not establish that Credit Karma reproduces every Mint feature. Intuit’s Mint-branded feature page now describes functions such as linked accounts, transaction review, spending categories, and net-worth tracking as having a home on Credit Karma, rather than showing that Mint remains available. Intuit’s announcement and Mint’s feature page provide that context.

PocketGuard lists Android among its supported platforms. The useful question is whether its current budgeting, account-tracking, and data-import tools fit your needs—not whether it is an identical replacement. PocketGuard’s feature descriptions are its own claims; they do not prove feature parity with Mint. PocketGuard’s pricing and feature page lists Plus at $74.99 billed yearly, $12.99 monthly, or $149.99 lifetime, in US dollars. The yearly option is billed as $74.99 per year, even though the page also expresses it as $6.25 per month. Offers and prices may change.

What PocketGuard offers for budgeting and account tracking

PocketGuard lists tools for budgets, transactions, bills, goals, and debt planning. Its Plus help page describes additional account and transaction tools. These are documented PocketGuard functions, not a promise that each works like its Mint counterpart.

Yojaro 4Pack Silicone Suction Phone Case Mount, Silicon Adhesive Smartphones Stand Sticky, Hands-Free Phone Accessories Holder for Selfies and Videos (Black & White & Translucent & Light Pink)
  • 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
  • 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
  • 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
  • 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
  • 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)

How to import Mint history into PocketGuard

PocketGuard documents a CSV-based import for Mint history. The process needs review: categories and accounts must be matched, and you choose how to handle transaction priority where records overlap. Keep your Mint export as a backup and check the results rather than assuming every detail transfers automatically.

Apple EarPods Headphones with USB-C Plug, Wired Ear Buds with Built-in Remote to Control Music, Phone Calls, and Volume
  • SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
  • HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
  • BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
  • COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
  • INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
  1. Locate and preserve your Mint CSV export. Keep an unchanged copy in a safe place before importing.
  2. Set up accounts in PocketGuard. Connect or manually add the accounts you want to use, or skip this step if they are already set up.
  3. Upload the CSV. Follow PocketGuard’s import flow to select the Mint file.
  4. Match categories and accounts. Map the categories and accounts in the file to those in PocketGuard. PocketGuard warns that unmatched categories may appear as “Uncategorized.”
  5. Choose transaction priority and import. Select whether Mint or PocketGuard data takes priority for transactions, then complete the import.
  6. Review the imported records. Check the date range, account assignments, categories, and any overlapping transactions. PocketGuard says an import can be deleted from its import details if needed.

These steps follow PocketGuard’s Mint data-transfer instructions, updated September 1, 2026. The company says it developed the feature after feedback from former Mint users in its March 2026 announcement.

Check bank support before relying on automatic updates

PocketGuard says it supports bank and card connections in the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom. Support for an individual financial institution can still vary. Outside those countries, PocketGuard says users can use its web app and manually add accounts and transactions; it also says bank linking is not required to begin budgeting. Check your bank’s availability before choosing PocketGuard for automatic tracking. See PocketGuard’s country-support details, last updated August 31, 2026.

What to consider about security and privacy

PocketGuard says linked-account access is read-only and that it does not store credit or debit account credentials. It also describes using aggregation partners, encryption, PIN or password protection, and optional multifactor authentication from financial institutions. These are PocketGuard’s statements, not an independent audit of its controls or vendors. Review its current account-linking security information and your bank’s connection method if this is a deciding factor.

Which should a former Mint user choose?

  • Consider PocketGuard if it supports your bank, its documented budgeting and tracking tools cover your needs, and you are comfortable reviewing a CSV import and paying for Plus if required.
  • Do not assume it replaces every Mint workflow. Check specifically for the features you relied on, especially historical transaction search, net-worth or investment tracking, bill reminders, and custom reporting.
  • Check the cost against the features you will use. PocketGuard lists a seven-day trial and the Plus options above; confirm the current offer and billing terms on its pricing page before subscribing.

There is no single winner for every former Mint user. An Engadget guide updated January 6, 2026, reports its author found Credit Karma a poor Mint substitute, but that is one editorial experience, not a controlled comparison or a verdict for every user. See Engadget’s account. Your bank compatibility, preferred workflow, and willingness to review imported history are more useful decision points than a claim of one-to-one replacement.
