Yes. Mint Mobile includes hotspot use with all its plans at no extra feature charge, but the data rules depend on the plan: on metered plans, hotspot use draws from the plan’s data allowance; on Unlimited, hotspot is capped at up to 20GB per 30- or 31-day service period. “Unlimited” does not mean unlimited hotspot data.
How Mint Mobile hotspot data works
Mint’s current plan FAQ lists 6GB, 17GB, 23GB, and Unlimited data tiers, and says every plan includes mobile hotspot. On the metered tiers, hotspot activity counts against the plan’s high-speed data allowance rather than adding a separate bucket. Mint’s data-use help page says usage includes uploads, downloads, and hotspot tethering where available.
Mint’s Unlimited plan details and service terms set a distinct hotspot limit: up to 20GB per applicable 30- or 31-day service period. After that limit, the plan’s “Unlimited” label does not provide additional hotspot data at the same allowance.
What happens when you use your data allowance
Metered plans
When total use exceeds the applicable data amount on a non-Unlimited plan, Mint says data service may be unavailable until the service period ends unless you purchase an add-on. Because hotspot use counts toward the total, tethering can use up that allowance along with data used on the phone itself.

Unlimited plan
The Unlimited plan’s hotspot allowance is separate from its general mobile data description: Mint advertises up to 20GB of hotspot for each 30- or 31-day service period. The terms describe the period-specific cap; they do not establish a guaranteed hotspot speed or a universal number of devices that can connect.
How to add more data
Mint lists these routes for adding data. The text purchase option requires funds in your Mint Mobile wallet.

Mint requires a hotspot-capable phone, but that does not establish that every phone model will work. Before switching or depending on tethering, check compatibility for your exact device and confirm it is unlocked if you are bringing it from another carrier. Mint’s general plan information does not provide model-by-model compatibility confirmation or a hotspot speed guarantee.

Which plan detail matters most?
| Plan type | Hotspot data treatment | What to consider |
|---|---|---|
| Metered tiers (6GB, 17GB, or 23GB) | Hotspot draws from the plan’s data allowance. | Phone use and tethering share the same amount; the listed tiers are from Mint’s current FAQ and can change. |
| Unlimited | Up to 20GB of hotspot per 30- or 31-day service period. | The hotspot cap is separate from the “Unlimited” name; it is not unlimited tethering. |
For the official feature answer, Mint’s FAQ says all plans include the Mobile Hotspot feature at no extra charge. See Mint’s hotspot FAQ for that statement, and its mobile hotspot feature page for the basic explanation of connecting another device.
