There is no current Mint Android widget to install: Intuit announced on October 31, 2023, that Mint was going away and directed users to Credit Karma. If you want a finance app with an at-a-glance Android home-screen widget, check each candidate app’s widget picker entry and the data it displays before choosing it. The available comparison evidence identifies budgeting apps to investigate, but does not confirm that any one of them currently matches Mint’s old widget experience.
What happened to Mint’s Android widget?
Intuit Credit Karma’s October 31, 2023 transition announcement said “Mint is going away” and invited Mint users to continue their financial journey on Credit Karma. Intuit described Credit Karma as offering spending, transaction, cash-flow, and net-worth tracking, along with financial recommendations. Those are the company’s stated capabilities; the announcement does not establish that every Mint feature or widget transferred unchanged. Read Intuit’s transition announcement.
Android does not supply a Mint finance widget independently. Widgets are app-provided views or actions, and their contents and refresh behavior depend on the app. Google’s documentation explains the Android widget framework, not whether a particular budgeting app offers a widget. See Google’s Android widget instructions.

Are there Mint alternatives with widgets for Android?
Potential alternatives exist, but the comparison source available here does not verify current Android widget availability, contents, or refresh behavior for any of its candidates. Engadget’s comparison, updated January 6, 2026, names Quicken Simplifi as its overall Mint alternative pick and also discusses Monarch Money, NerdWallet, and YNAB. It compares general budgeting services and features; that is not proof of Mint-like Android widgets. Read Engadget’s Mint alternatives comparison.

Use those names as a shortlist to investigate, not as a confirmed widget ranking. Before switching, check the current Google Play listing and the provider’s widget documentation or support pages. A candidate is useful for this specific purpose only if its available widget shows the information you want.
How to check whether an app has an Android widget
- Install the finance app you want to evaluate and sign in if its widgets require an active account.
- Touch and hold an empty area of your Android Home screen, then tap Widgets.
- Find the app in the widget picker and inspect the listed widget sizes or descriptions. If the app is absent, or its listed widgets do not show the information you need, Android’s setup flow cannot add a missing widget.
- Touch and hold the suitable widget, drag it to the Home screen, and release it in the desired position.
- Check the app’s settings and the widget itself for account, category, or display options. Do not assume a refresh interval or immediate update unless the provider documents it.
Google notes that some steps vary by Android version. The picker on your phone is the practical check for what is currently available to you.

What to compare before replacing Mint
Widget support should be the first filter, not an afterthought. A budgeting app may be strong for tracking or planning yet still fail to provide a useful home-screen view. Compare the following details directly in the current app and provider documentation:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Widget presence and contents: Is there an Android Home-screen widget, and does it show balances, recent transactions, budget progress, cash flow, or net worth?
- Controls and updates: Can you choose accounts or categories? What does the provider say about refresh behavior? Android’s general widget framework allows periodic updates but does not guarantee an app-specific schedule.
- Account connections: Does it link the banks, cards, and investment institutions you need?
- Tracking and budgeting style: Does it emphasize an overview dashboard, spending and investment tracking, or a more active plan-based budget?
- Android availability and usability: Confirm the app is available for your device and that the widget is easy to read and configure on your Home screen.
- Current cost: Check the latest pricing and which functions require payment; prices and plan features can change.
For a shortlist, Engadget’s January 6, 2026 comparison discusses Quicken Simplifi, Monarch Money, NerdWallet, and YNAB across general budgeting considerations such as mobile apps, bank linking, spending or investment tracking, and budgeting approach. It does not establish current widget support for these apps, so verify that separately before deciding.

What Credit Karma’s transition means for former Mint users
Credit Karma was Intuit’s named transition destination. The announcement described spending-habit, transaction, cash-flow, and net-worth monitoring, as well as recommendations based on financial data. That makes it relevant to users considering where to continue, but it is not evidence that Credit Karma provides a particular Android widget or reproduces Mint’s old at-a-glance display. Check its current widget listing just as you would for any other candidate.
