These eight mini gadgets take very different approaches to retro gaming: some attach to a keyring, some are tiny handhelds, one is a programming-oriented pocket console, and one is a tabletop arcade cabinet. Several are licensed-game miniatures; others focus on a broader platform or development angle. Availability also varies, so an announced product or past preorder should not be mistaken for confirmed stock.
How the eight mini gadgets differ

| Asteroids Super Micro Keychain Gamer | Small keychain gamer | Asteroids, Gravitar, and Yars’ Revenge, according to Hyper Mega Tech! | Current stock is not established by the product page |

These are not directly comparable performance options: the official product descriptions do not provide a common basis for judging screen quality, controls, battery life, or emulation performance. Choose by format and stated content rather than assuming one is objectively better.
Keychain gadgets for quick, simple play
Thumby: a tiny handheld with a game-library angle
TinyCircuits describes Thumby as its tiniest handheld and a keychain accessory. The company says it ships with five retro games, has six tactile buttons, and can access additional games through its library. That makes it the clearest pick in this group for someone who wants a very small standalone play device with more than one named built-in game. The product page does not establish current stock or independently measured play quality.
Centipede Super Micro Keychain Gamer: three named Atari games
Atari describes this keychain device as featuring Centipede, Millipede, and Crystal Castles. Its appeal is specific licensed content in a miniature format, rather than a broad platform library. Atari’s description does not establish screen quality, battery life, control feel, or present-day availability.

Asteroids Super Micro Keychain Gamer: another licensed mini
Hyper Mega Tech! lists Asteroids, Gravitar, and Yars’ Revenge for its small keychain gamer. It is a second option for buyers drawn to a particular set of classic titles. The product listing does not support a performance comparison with Atari’s keychain device.
Tiny consoles that invite more than playing
Game Bird: a pocket console and mini game studio
Game Bird’s official site presents the device as a keychain-sized retro console with a detachable keychain, and also as a mini game studio. That development angle distinguishes it from the licensed-title keychain gadgets above. The maker lists accessories including a manual, USB hub, HDMI adapter, and charger cable; confirm which items are included with the configuration being offered, since an accessory listing alone does not establish package contents.

FunKey S: a foldable handheld for platform variety
The FunKey Project describes the FunKey S as a foldable, keychain-sized retro handheld and lists support for several historical platforms. That makes it a better fit for someone seeking a tiny folding device organized around platform support than a miniature dedicated to a short list of licensed games. The platform list is the maker’s claim; it does not establish that game files come bundled or that every platform has been independently tested.

EGRET II mini: an arcade cabinet for a tabletop
TAITO describes the EGRET II mini as a tabletop, arcade-cabinet-style game system for titles spanning 1978 through the 1990s. It is a display-friendly mini arcade, not a pocket or keychain gadget. TAITO’s product page lists Arcade Collection Part 1 with a December 18, 2025 release date and Part 2 as planned for March 25, 2027. Vectrex Mini: an announced miniature with a built-in display
Vectrex’s details page describes a built-in 5-inch display and an ESP32-based system. The maker forecast availability toward the end of 2026. These are maker-provided specifications and a forecast, not independent test results or confirmation of current stock. It is the one to watch if you want a miniature system with its own display rather than a keychain gamer, but the availability estimate may change.
Pocket AIR Mini × Arcade Home Limited Edition: check preorder status
In an article dated May 21, 2026, AYANEO described the Pocket AIR Mini × Arcade Home Limited Edition as featuring licensed IGS game content and said preorders were available at that time.
