No—not as an iPhone-hosted texting service. MightyText’s documented setup requires an Android phone, and messages are sent and received through that phone and its number. If you want to text from a computer or tablet using an iPhone, Apple’s Messages features are the more relevant place to start.
Can you use an iPhone as the MightyText host phone?
MightyText’s published setup instructions say to install its Android phone app first. Its Chrome Web Store listing describes an Android phone running Android 4.4 or later and says messages route through that phone. The setup also uses the Android phone’s number. That means an iPhone is not the documented host device for MightyText. The available information does not establish whether a particular iOS app listing exists or supports any part of the service; it does not change the Android-host requirement described in MightyText’s setup flow.
Does the iPad beta mean MightyText works on iPhone?
No. A MightyText comparison article modified December 16, 2021 mentions an iPad app in beta for messaging from an iPad. That historical reference does not show that an iPhone can act as the host phone, and it does not establish that the iPad app is currently available. What happens when you use MightyText with an Android phone?
The Android phone remains central: MightyText routes SMS through it, so it must be on, connected to a cellular network, and have a working data connection. MightyText Help & Support states this in an article modified December 15, 2021. If the phone is off or lacks the required connectivity, you should not expect the service to relay messages normally. How can you text from another device when your phone is an iPhone?
Start with Apple’s Messages settings and its guidance for Text Message Forwarding. Apple describes iMessage for communication among Apple devices and forwarding for sending and receiving text messages on other Apple devices. The exact behavior depends on your device setup, Apple Account, software versions, and carrier support; check Apple’s current instructions for your configuration at Apple Support’s Messages and Text Message Forwarding guide.

Apple distinguishes iMessage from carrier-based messaging: messages outside iMessage use RCS, SMS, or MMS and require a text-messaging plan. Carrier support and settings can affect which options work. See Apple’s messaging guidance.
