The Miele DAS 2620 is a 60 cm slimline cooker hood designed to sit beneath a wall-unit cabinet. Its published specifications make it a potentially suitable option when a shallow integrated hood is needed, but they do not establish how well it captures cooking fumes or how quiet it is in a real kitchen. It can operate in extraction or recirculation mode; recirculation requires separate conversion and charcoal-filter accessories.
What kind of cooker hood is the Miele DAS 2620?
The DAS 2620 is a pull-out, wall-unit-integrated hood. Miele lists the body dimensions as 596 × 36 × 273 mm. The 36 mm figure describes the slim canopy body, not the cabinet niche or total installed space required. The regional product information describes three fan settings plus a booster setting, a deflector plate, LED lighting and one dishwasher-safe 10-ply stainless-steel grease filter. Miele also lists a CleanCover interior.
Those details are useful for judging the model on paper, but they are not independent performance findings. Miele’s product information does not establish real-world capture effectiveness, measured noise in a kitchen, durability or general owner satisfaction.

On specifications, it offers a shallow 60 cm format, four operating levels including boost, and a washable metal grease filter. Miele’s UK sheet gives it energy class A and annual energy consumption of 41.7 kWh/year. A separate EU data sheet reports 95.6% grease-filtering efficiency and class A for energy, fluid-dynamic, lighting and grease-filtering efficiency within the labeling framework used there. These are manufacturer-declared figures, not independent test results.

Whether it is a good choice for your kitchen depends especially on cabinet fit, the route for ducting or room for recirculation accessories, and whether its published airflow and noise figures suit your expectations. The available evidence is not enough to rate its everyday performance or reliability against competing hoods.
How loud is the Miele DAS 2620?
Miele’s UK specification distinguishes sound power from sound pressure. They are different measurements and should not be compared as though they were the same. The values below are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements.

These figures are from Miele’s UK DAS 2620 specification sheet. Actual sound in a kitchen can depend on installation and operating conditions; the published values alone do not establish what a particular installation will sound like.
What airflow does it offer?
Airflow figures differ between regional documents, so they should not be collapsed into a single universal range. The UK sheet lists airflow by fan setting, while Miele Hong Kong’s sheet reports separate ranges for extraction and recirculation.

The UK values are from Miele’s UK specification sheet; the extraction and recirculation ranges are from Miele Hong Kong’s DAS 2620 sheet dated 2024-10-02. The regional documents report different figures; check the documentation for the exact market and configuration you are buying rather than assuming one set applies everywhere.
What size cabinet do you need for a DAS 2620?
The published body width is 596 mm, but that is not by itself a cabinet-niche specification. Before buying, check the applicable local installation instructions and measure the cabinet, mounting support, duct path and space needed for any accessories.

Miele’s German product page says the cabinet needs a front underside for attachment; if the hood is positioned farther back, the support panel may need to extend farther. A silencer or recirculation kit can also affect cabinet height and cut-outs. The page lists minimum distances of 450 mm over electric cooktops and 650 mm over gas cooktops within its stated power limits. Those are German-market published values, not a substitute for local requirements, the applicable manual or the cooktop manufacturer’s instructions. See Miele’s German DAS 2620 product page.
- Confirm the niche and mounting arrangement against the local installation documentation.
- Check that the planned duct route and connections work for extraction, or allow room for the recirculation setup.
- Verify required clearances against the hood manual, cooktop instructions and local installation rules.
- Account for the dimensions and cut-outs of any silencer or recirculation accessories.
Can the Miele DAS 2620 be used in recirculation mode?
Yes. In extraction mode, air is routed out through ducting. In recirculation mode, the hood uses a conversion setup and charcoal filtration to return treated air to the room. Miele’s regional documents list DUU 150 or DUU 151 conversion kits and DKFS/DKF charcoal-filter variants, but names and compatibility can vary by market and document. Confirm the exact kit and filter for your model and country with the local Miele documentation or supplier before ordering; the filter type is not enough on its own to establish compatibility.

What are the lighting and filter specifications?
Miele’s UK sheet lists one 3.2 W LED, 310 lx and a color temperature of 3500 K. These are UK-market figures; regional product pages may give different lighting values. The same UK sheet lists a dishwasher-safe 10-ply stainless-steel grease filter. The filter is intended to collect grease, while recirculation also requires charcoal filtration.
How should you compare it with another 60 cm hood?
Compare equivalent specifications and installation conditions rather than relying on headline airflow or a single noise number.
