The Midea MPPD33H is a portable reverse-cycle air conditioner that cools and heats. Midea lists a standard cooling application area of 16–23 m², while its product page and a public CHOICE listing provide key specifications—but CHOICE restricts its model-specific performance, efficiency and noise results to members. That makes this a specification-led assessment, not a verdict based on independent test results.
What the Midea MPPD33H offers
Midea Australia describes the MPPD33H as a 3.3 kW portable air conditioner with heat-pump heating. Its feature list includes optional Wi-Fi control, an i-Sense remote sensor and an energy-saving standby function. These are manufacturer descriptions; they do not establish how well the unit performs in a particular room.
Midea says i-Sense “Adjusts cooling power based on where the remote is located.” The company also says its intelligent on/off feature reduces standby consumption from 2 W to 0.5 W. Treat both as product claims rather than independently verified results. Midea’s MPPD33H product page

The dimension figures differ slightly, likely because of rounding or measurement conventions; the sources do not explain the difference. Is the 16–23 m² room guidance a good fit?
Midea gives 16–23 m² as the standard cooling application area. Use it as a starting point, not a promise that every room in that range will reach a particular temperature or feel comfortable. Sun exposure, ceiling height, insulation, air leakage and room layout can affect the load on an air conditioner.
The owner’s manual explains that a unit that is too small may not cool adequately, while an oversized unit may remove less humidity and leave a room feeling damp. It recommends calculating floor area by multiplying room length by width. For an irregular room, consider each rectangular section separately and add the areas. The manual’s guidance is available in the Midea MPPD33H owner’s and installation manual.

Heating and cooling: what is established?
The MPPD33H is listed as reverse cycle, and Midea describes its heating as heat-pump operation. Both Midea and CHOICE list 2.81 kW of heating capacity. That confirms the published heating specification, but the open information does not establish real-world heating performance in a particular climate or room.

Installation and ownership considerations
The manual covers connecting the exhaust hose and adaptor, preparing an adjustable window slider, window installation, and a wall-installation option for some models. It also addresses drainage, operation, cleaning, maintenance, storage and troubleshooting.
- Check the exact parts supplied with the unit and the manual for your model before planning installation.
- Measure the opening and compare it with the window slider’s adjustment range; do not assume every window type or size will fit.
- Review the manual’s drainage instructions and decide how condensate will be managed in your intended setup.
- Confirm whether the wall-installation option applies to your model and space before relying on it.
CHOICE lists a window kit and remote control among the included items, but the available listing does not establish every kit dimension or compatibility with a particular window. Midea’s product page directs owners to contact the company about product-specific replacement parts and accessories; current stock and third-party compatibility are not established.

How loud and efficient is the MPPD33H?
The publicly visible CHOICE page does not disclose its expert rating, cooling score, energy-efficiency score, high-fan noise result, noise description, running costs or recommendation. Those results are member-only. Without them, it is not possible to substantiate a claim that this model is quiet, efficient or inexpensive to run.

Who should consider the MPPD33H?
It is worth considering if you need a portable unit with both cooling and heat-pump heating, and the room is within Midea’s stated 16–23 m² standard cooling range. It is a less certain choice if you need proven noise or energy performance, or if the window and drainage arrangements are difficult: the available public evidence does not settle those questions.
Before buying, compare the MPPD33H with alternatives on cooling and heating capacity, independently tested cooling and energy performance, noise, room guidance, installation fit, dimensions and weight, warranty and current local price. The sources cited here do not establish current local pricing or warranty terms, so verify those with the seller and manufacturer.
