MEXC’s main disclosed risk for bridge-dependent tokens is operational: when a bridge is disrupted or under maintenance, the exchange may suspend related deposits and withdrawals. Sending a deposit while the relevant service is suspended can result in assets being unrecoverable or permanently lost. Check the live status for the exact token and network immediately before sending; this operational warning is not an audit of the bridge’s technical security.

Bridge security and MEXC transfer status are different risks

A cross-chain transfer can depend on several components: the token or project, the source and destination networks, bridge functionality, and the exchange’s wallet and deposit or withdrawal service. A problem or pause in any relevant part of that chain may affect whether a transfer can be completed or credited.

MEXC’s help guidance says bridge disruption or maintenance affecting a multi-chain token may temporarily suspend related deposits and withdrawals. It also names wallet maintenance, project upgrades, and project-requested suspensions as possible causes of service interruptions. This describes an exchange-service dependency; it does not establish that MEXC operates the bridge.

That is separate from whether a bridge is technically secure. General bridge-security research identifies different verification mechanisms, communication models, trust assumptions, and attack surfaces. Those general findings do not establish the safety or vulnerability of a specific asset/network route supported by MEXC.

What MEXC says about suspended deposits

MEXC warns that depositing a token while its deposit function is temporarily disabled may result in “unrecoverable or permanently lost assets.” The warning applies in the context of a suspended service, so treat the current deposit status for the exact asset and network as a prerequisite—not as a formality.

MEXC provides a token status lookup and an abnormal-networks filter. Its guidance also says an alternative network may sometimes be available during maintenance. Do not assume that a token on one network is interchangeable with a token bearing the same name on another: confirm that the exact token and network are supported by both the sending route and the destination.

Pre-transfer checklist

  1. Identify the exact asset and route. Confirm the token, source network, destination network, and transfer direction. A network name alone is not enough to establish that the asset will be accepted.
  2. Check MEXC’s live status for that token and network. Use the token status lookup and inspect any abnormal-network notice. Confirm that the relevant deposit or withdrawal function is open immediately before transferring.
  3. Verify the destination’s requirements. Confirm that the receiving platform supports the same token on the selected network and that its deposit service is open. Follow its address, memo, tag, or other required-field instructions exactly.
  4. Do not substitute a route without checking it. If a status notice points to an alternative network, verify that the exact asset/network pair is supported at both ends and that the route meets the destination’s requirements.
  5. Review any bridge-specific trust information available. If the bridge is identified and its primary documentation is available, examine how cross-chain messages are verified and what trust or validator assumptions the design makes. MEXC’s reviewed public material does not identify a current bridge provider for every supported asset/network.

If a transfer is missing

  1. Check the transaction record. Confirm the transaction details and whether it has completed on the source network. Compare the destination address and any required memo or tag with the receiving platform’s instructions.
  2. Check the receiving platform’s status and crediting requirements. A completed source-chain transaction does not by itself confirm that the destination has credited the deposit.
  3. Contact the relevant platform through its support process. MEXC’s recovery guidance lists situations such as unsupported token deposits, incorrect deposit details, rejected withdrawals, and assets not credited at the destination as issues that may require support.
  4. Do not treat recovery as guaranteed. MEXC says it cannot guarantee recovery in every case. Its recovery process is a possible case-handling route, not a safety net that makes a suspended or unsupported transfer acceptable.

What broader bridge-security research can—and cannot—tell you

The systematic survey SoK: Security of Cross-chain Bridges: Attack Surfaces, Defenses, and Open Problems describes bridge design dimensions such as verification mechanisms and communication models, and identifies 12 potential attack vectors. These are useful questions for evaluating a bridge: how messages are verified, which parties or validators are trusted, where contracts and off-chain components sit, and what response is possible when something fails.

The survey is a general framework, not a current audit of MEXC’s integrations. The public material reviewed here does not establish the underlying bridge provider or design for every MEXC-supported token and network, nor does it identify a current bridge incident affecting a particular route. Without asset-specific documentation, it would be inaccurate to label a named MEXC route safe or vulnerable based on general bridge research alone.

How to interpret MEXC’s dated security figures

MEXC’s reports provide dated platform-published figures about the broader security environment and its reported response activity. They are not bridge-only statistics, independent verification, or a measure of an individual transfer’s safety.

Figure What MEXC reported Scope and qualification
July–August 2026 184 incidents and approximately $535 million in total industry losses Aggregate figures reported by MEXC for that period; not a bridge-only count or loss total. MEXC, 2026
July–August 2026 38% of reported incident count attributed to DeFi, 31% to phishing and scams, and 17% to endpoint and supply-chain security MEXC’s categories for reported incidents during that period; not a bridge-specific breakdown. MEXC, 2026
May–June 2026 812 recovery requests involving erroneous cross-chain deposits and misdirected transfers; assets valued at 343,515 USDT were reported as remediated Platform-reported requests and amount for that period, not an individual recovery guarantee or success rate. MEXC, 2026

In its May–June report, MEXC characterized cross-chain bridges, private-key management, and user endpoints as “the three major weak points in the industry’s security risk landscape during the period.” That is MEXC’s description, not an independent ranking or a claim about a specific MEXC-supported bridge.
