A community post dated October 12, 2026 reports that the Metaphor: ReFantazio Prologue Demo is available in the Nintendo Switch 2 eShops for Japan and Australia. SEGA and Nintendo confirmation of that rollout was not found, so availability should be treated as a regional, time-sensitive report—not a confirmed worldwide release. The Switch 2 full game is scheduled for November 12, 2026.
Where is the Switch 2 demo available?
The October 12 community report names the Japan and Australia eShops. SEGA Support says the original Metaphor: ReFantazio Prologue Demo is a free version of the beginning of the game, and that its save data can continue into the full version with the same story and character status. The FAQ also describes an auto-detect option at launch. However, that FAQ was updated October 7, 2024 and does not confirm that the newly reported Switch 2 demo has the same save-transfer feature.
