A proposed Washington class action alleges Meta used urgent email subject lines to promote AI-glasses discounts that remained available after the advertised deadlines. The complaint, as described in published reports, centers on a May 25, 2026 email reading “Ends today: AI glasses from $224.” The allegations have not been established in court, and the available reporting does not show that a class has been certified or that Meta has been found liable.
What does the lawsuit allege?
The case is reported as Camilleri v. Meta Platforms Inc., No. 2:26-cv-03300, in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. The named plaintiff is Washington consumer Michael Camilleri. According to Top Class Actions’ October 11, 2026 account of the complaint, he seeks to represent Washington residents who received Meta promotional emails advertising time-limited sales.
The reported example is an email sent on May 25, 2026 to Camilleri and other Washington residents. Its subject line said, “Ends today: AI glasses from $224,” and the email reportedly advertised discounts of up to 25%. The complaint allegedly claims that the $224 starting price remained on Meta’s website two weeks later; some pairs were presented as 25% off a stated regular price of $299.

Why does the advertised deadline matter?
The central dispute is whether the “Ends today” and similar urgency language accurately described when the discount would end. If a promotion is presented as expiring but the same offer allegedly remains available afterward, that could matter to consumers deciding whether to buy immediately. The reports describe the plaintiff’s position; they do not establish that Meta’s emails were unlawful or that any customer relied on them to make a purchase.
Top Class Actions says the complaint invokes Washington’s Commercial Electronic Mail Act and Consumer Protection Act. The reporting does not provide a court ruling interpreting those claims in this case, so the legal allegations should not be treated as a determination that either statute was violated.

What is the plaintiff seeking?
Top Class Actions reports that the complaint seeks actual or statutory damages and describes a request for $100 in statutory damages per allegedly unlawful email. That is a requested remedy, not money awarded by a court. The same report says the complaint estimates at least thousands of potential class members; that estimate is reported as the complaint’s claim, not a certified class size.

What is known about the case’s status?
The available case coverage identifies the Washington lawsuit and summarizes its allegations, but it does not establish Meta’s response, any motion ruling, class certification, settlement, or final outcome. A class action is not automatically a class proceeding: certification is a separate step, and the reporting cited here does not show that it has occurred.

A September 24, 2026 order in In re Meta AI Glasses Litigation, No. 26-cv-01897-EMC, set an initial case management conference for October 13, 2026. That is a separate case in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, not a procedural update in Camilleri’s Washington lawsuit.

The reported $224 starting price and up-to-25% discount describe the historical promotion, not a verified current price or an assurance that the offer is available now. The lawsuit is about alleged email marketing practices for Meta AI glasses, including the Ray-Ban Meta line; the reports do not establish that every promotion or product listing used the same terms.

For now, the accurate answer to “Did the ‘Ends today’ sale really end?” is that the plaintiff alleges it did not: he says the advertised price persisted beyond the deadline, including throughout counsel’s reported 33-day audit. Whether that allegation is accurate, legally actionable, or representative of other customers remains unresolved in the available reporting.
