There is no reliable universal ranking of the five mesh Wi-Fi systems with the longest security updates: their manufacturers count support differently, and some commitments apply only in specific markets. The shortlist below shows what each vendor publishes and what to check before comparing dates. These policies concern security updates—not new features, Wi-Fi performance, or how long the hardware will remain useful.

How to compare mesh Wi-Fi security-update policies

A date is meaningful only alongside its model, region, and starting point. For example, eero counts a minimum period from a qualifying purchase, while Google counts from the product’s first sale on the US Google Store. ASUS’s cited schedule applies to UK PSTI-compliant networking products, and TP-Link’s cited table applies to Singapore. Those clocks and scopes cannot be treated as equivalent.

  • Find the exact model and, where relevant, hardware revision on the manufacturer’s support page.
  • Check which country or market the policy covers.
  • Note whether the vendor states a minimum duration from a starting date or a date through which updates are listed.
  • Keep the claim limited to security updates; it does not establish a promise of new features or a hardware lifespan.

Five mesh Wi-Fi systems with published security-update information

This is a policy-based shortlist, not a longest-to-shortest ranking. The available commitments differ in scope and timing, so the dates should not be read as a direct comparison.

System or product family What the vendor publishes Scope and comparison note
Amazon eero At least five years of security updates from purchase through eero.com or Amazon.com, or until a later date listed for the model. The current policy page lists several models, including eero 6, eero 6+, eero Pro 6E, eero Max 7, eero 7, and eero Pro 7, with listed dates extending through October 31, 2031. The model-specific dates are stated as “at least through”; eero says support may continue afterward, subject to limitations. Check the policy page for the exact model and its date. eero Software Security Updates
Google Nest Wifi Google says its connected-home devices receive automatic security updates for at least five years from the date Google starts selling them on the US Google Store. The policy establishes a duration, but the cited page does not give a Nest Wifi Pro-specific endpoint. The exact first-sale date is needed to calculate one. Google Nest security updates and validation results
ASUS ZenWiFi ASUS’s UK table lists ZenWiFi BQ16, BT8, and BT10 through December 31, 2028; ZenWiFi BD4 through December 31, 2029; and XT8, XT9, XD5, and ET12 through December 31, 2026. These are endpoints in a UK PSTI-specific support schedule, not worldwide guarantees. ASUS says extended support may be provided after the listed date. ASUS UK security-update duration table
TP-Link Deco TP-Link’s Singapore table gives model-specific security-support dates. The cited listing gives Deco BE22 an endpoint of June 16, 2028. The table applies to Singapore, and the model and hardware revision should be checked against the current listing. TP-Link says extended support may be provided after the stated date. TP-Link Singapore security-support duration table
NETGEAR Orbi NETGEAR security advisories identify fixes and mark some products End of Support (EoS). Its June 2026 advisory says models marked EoS have no security updates planned. The advisory is useful for checking status, but it does not provide a comparable forward-looking support-duration promise across current Orbi systems. NETGEAR June 2026 Security Advisory

What the policies mean for a buyer

A listed date is not necessarily a minimum duration

eero combines a purchase-based minimum with model-specific dates. Google publishes a minimum duration tied to first sale on the US Google Store. ASUS and TP-Link publish dated tables for particular markets, and both note that support may be extended beyond listed dates. Keep these distinctions attached to any date you use; an endpoint in one table cannot be compared directly with a minimum in another.

Security support is not the same as continued operation

eero says a device can continue to provide Wi-Fi after software security updates end. That does not mean it will continue to receive fixes, nor does ongoing Wi-Fi service establish that it remains secure or suitable for every use.

Vendor support lists can change and are model-specific. The ASUS and TP-Link pages carry 2026 table updates; confirm the live listing before buying, particularly where a hardware revision or country-specific policy matters.

How to check the support promise for a specific mesh system

  1. Open the manufacturer’s security-update or product-support page for the exact system and hardware revision.
  2. Confirm that the policy applies to your country; do not assume a UK or Singapore table applies elsewhere.
  3. Record the policy’s starting point—such as qualifying purchase or first sale on a named store—and the model’s stated endpoint, if one is given.
  4. Identify whether the vendor promises a minimum period, lists an “at least through” date, or only marks an end-of-support status.
  5. Use security-update coverage as one buying factor, not as a proxy for performance, privacy, reliability, or total useful life.
