MeridianLink says its AI-powered Doc Agent for Mortgage is live with early access customers, with broader general availability expected in late Q4 2026. The October 8 launch release names Credit Union of Colorado as a customer, but does not identify three Doc Agent lenders or confirm that three lenders are using it.
What MeridianLink Doc Agent does
Doc Agent for Mortgage is part of MeridianLink Intelligence, the company’s embedded AI offering within its mortgage workflow. MeridianLink describes it as a task-specific agent intended to help lending teams handle submitted documents and move applications through workflow steps, with people retaining oversight and control.
- Review documents: Assess submitted files for completeness, quality, and relevance.
- Extract data: Pull information from documents to reduce repetitive manual entry and support application updates.
- Prepare borrower requests: Translate lending requirements into clearer requests for documents from borrowers.
- Assist with workflow: Help move applications forward with less manual intervention.
The May 2026 product announcement also described checking documents for currency as part of its review capabilities. The October launch announcement emphasizes completeness, quality, and relevance. These are MeridianLink’s descriptions of intended functionality, not independently verified performance results.
Which lenders are using Doc Agent?
Credit Union of Colorado is the only early access customer named in MeridianLink’s October 8, 2026 launch release. Andrew Kotaska, the credit union’s Director of Mortgage Lending and Member Solutions, said Doc Agent helps fill in application data that the team has not always had time to prioritize. He also said it takes work off mortgage staff and expressed interest in how the team and member experience respond.
#1 Best Overall
Those comments are a customer’s early impression, not a quantified result. The release does not provide a complete customer list, state how many lenders are in early access, or establish that three lenders are using Doc Agent. MeridianLink social content separately mentions Intrepid Credit Union, Essex Mortgage, and Broadway Bank in connection with broader mortgage-lending priorities; it does not identify them as Doc Agent deployments.
Availability and product timeline
MeridianLink announced Doc Agent for Mortgage on October 8, 2026 as live with early access customers. General availability is the company’s expectation for late Q4 2026, not a completed release. Availability may therefore depend on MeridianLink’s rollout and the institution’s access arrangements.
Rank #2
MeridianLink first introduced MeridianLink Intelligence on May 12, 2026, describing Doc Agent as its first task-specific agent and placing Mortgage ahead of Doc Agent for Consumer, which was planned for early 2027. These dates are company-announced plans; the Consumer product is not described as live in the cited announcements.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Does the AI agent replace mortgage underwriters?
MeridianLink presents Doc Agent as assistance for document handling and workflow, with lending professionals in control—not as a replacement for underwriters or a system that independently makes consequential lending decisions. The announced tasks involve reviewing files, extracting information, preparing borrower requests, and helping applications progress. The company’s release says human oversight is built in and that its AI is intended to work alongside people in existing workflows.
Rank #3
That distinction matters: automating data handling or organizing work does not by itself establish that underwriting judgment, approvals, or other lending decisions are automated. MeridianLink’s announcements do not provide a detailed decision-rights matrix or technical description of every point where a human must review or approve an action.
What is known—and not yet established—about results
MeridianLink describes the goal as reducing operational friction and freeing staff capacity. Credit Union of Colorado’s quoted comments offer a favorable early customer perspective, but neither the launch release nor the earlier announcement reports independent testing or measured Doc Agent outcomes.

MeridianLink’s May announcement also reported customer insights on AI priorities: 46% selected accelerating workflows and operational efficiency, 21% selected reducing fraud risk, and 15% selected improving the application experience to help reduce applicant drop-off. These are company-reported customer insights; the cited pages do not give a sample size or methodology, so they should not be read as independent, industry-wide survey findings or as results produced by Doc Agent.
How this fits into MeridianLink’s broader AI plans
MeridianLink describes Intelligence as AI embedded in its existing platform rather than a separate workflow. Its stated approach is to put practical assistance into the tools financial institutions already use while keeping people involved in consequential decisions. The Mortgage agent is the first announced task-specific agent in this roadmap; Consumer was planned to follow in early 2027.
A separate June 12, 2026 announcement from Lorien AI described a planned integration with MeridianLink Mortgage involving conversational AI, document automation, and underwriting support. That is a distinct third-party integration announcement, not evidence that Lorien is part of Doc Agent or that the integration is currently available.
