Short answer: GrowLux is a feature-rich at-home cap on paper, but the available information does not establish that it regrows hair or outperforms Megelin’s cheaper LED caps. Megelin lists 70 VCSEL lasers, 405 LEDs and five wavelengths; its published outcome percentages are company-reported claims without enough accessible study detail to assess independently. Consider it only if its fit, power options and price suit you—and weigh that uncertainty before buying.
What the Megelin GrowLux cap is
GrowLux is a wearable at-home scalp cap that Megelin describes as combining VCSEL lasers and LEDs. The specifications below are from Megelin’s product listing; they have not been independently measured for this review.

Megelin says the light is intended to stimulate follicles and improve scalp circulation and scalp environment. Those are the manufacturer’s claims, not independently verified findings. What evidence supports Megelin’s results claims?
Megelin’s product page attributes several percentages to SGS laboratory testing and reports from more than 100 users. The claims refer to different outcomes and time periods:

These figures should be read as Megelin-reported claims, not as independently established clinical estimates. The page does not provide a study title, protocol, participant characteristics, control group, outcome definitions or an accessible report sufficient to judge the claims. Without those details, the percentages cannot tell a buyer how likely GrowLux is to help them.
Is the GrowLux FDA-cleared?
The FDA record identified for a laser hair-growth cap, K253231, is for a separately named system—not Megelin GrowLux. The FDA decision for that system is dated June 16, 2026, and its summary discusses that device and named predicate products. It does not establish clearance for GrowLux. Read the K253231 FDA summary.

The FDA also describes a broader Class II laser hair-growth product category, including a laser-comb method of use. Category information is not a device-specific clearance record. On the basis of these records, it would be inaccurate to call GrowLux “FDA-approved” or “FDA-cleared.” See the FDA product-code information.

How GrowLux compares with Megelin’s LED caps
Megelin lists two less expensive LED-only options alongside GrowLux. The table reflects the company’s listed prices and specifications, not an independent performance comparison.

- Fit: Compare your head measurement with Megelin’s listed 64–68 cm range. A mismatch could make a wearable cap impractical.
- Power routine: Decide whether you would use it plugged in or with a powerbank. The listing does not establish battery capacity or treatment duration per charge.
- Evidence quality: Ask what the reported percentages measure and whether a full report with methods and results is available. A promotional percentage without those details is not a reliable estimate of your likely result.
- Total cost and terms: Confirm the current price, availability, warranty and return conditions directly before purchase; the cited listing does not establish the terms for your order.
- Hair-loss cause: Hair loss has different causes, and a light cap is not a diagnosis. Consider discussing your symptoms and treatment options with a qualified clinician, particularly if hair loss is sudden, patchy or accompanied by scalp symptoms.
