The MediaTek Helio G81 is an entry-level 4G smartphone processor with two Cortex-A75 performance cores, six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores and Mali-G52 MC2 graphics. One named handset result—406 single-core and 1,360 multi-core in Geekbench 6.7.1 on a Motorola Moto G05—offers a useful reference, not a score every G81 phone is guaranteed to reach.
MediaTek Helio G81 specifications
MediaTek’s specification table describes an octa-core, 64-bit chip with heterogeneous multiprocessing. Its core and platform limits are:
| Component | MediaTek-listed specification |
|---|---|
| CPU | 2 Cortex-A75 cores up to 2 GHz; 6 Cortex-A55 cores up to 1.7 GHz |
| GPU | Arm Mali-G52 MC2, up to 820 MHz |
| Memory | Up to 8 GB LPDDR4x at 1,800 MHz |
| Storage | eMMC 5.1 |
| Maximum display resolution | 2,520 × 1,080 |
| Mobile connectivity | 4G, including LTE Cat-4 downlink |
| Wireless and location | Wi-Fi 5 (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, Galileo, GLONASS and BeiDou; FM radio is also listed |
| Video | Encoding and playback up to 2K at 30 fps or 1080p at 60 fps |
| Camera ISP configurations | Up to 48 MP or dual 16 MP + 16 MP configurations, with additional modes described by MediaTek |
These are platform capabilities, not a promise about a finished phone. The manufacturer chooses the actual RAM, storage, screen, camera sensors, supported network bands and other components. For example, a phone may have a lower-resolution display or less memory than the chip’s listed maximums.

There is a small inconsistency in MediaTek’s own G81 page: its introductory text says the six Cortex-A55 cores run up to 1.8 GHz, while the specification table gives 1.7 GHz. The table’s 1.7 GHz figure is the clearer specification to use.

Helio G81 benchmark scores
A dated Geekbench result from a named phone
A Geekbench Browser entry for the Motorola Moto G05 records 406 single-core and 1,360 multi-core in Geekbench 6.7.1 for Android AArch64. It was uploaded on September 7, 2026, and lists Android 15 and 7.54 GB of memory for the tested device. The record identifies the processor string as MT6769V/CB; Motorola markets the phone’s processor as Helio G81 Extreme.
This is one result from one phone, not a controlled average across all G81 models. Device configuration, software, temperature and test conditions can change the outcome. In particular, the memory listed in the benchmark record belongs to that Moto G05 and should not be read as the G81’s universal configuration.
Third-party summary figures
NanoReview reports an AnTuTu 11 score of 358,608 and Geekbench 6 scores of 432 single-core and 1,416 multi-core for the Helio G81. These are the site’s summary figures, not results published by MediaTek. They are not identical to the Moto G05 Geekbench record, which is another reason to treat any score as a reference point rather than a handset guarantee. AnTuTu and Geekbench scores also cannot be compared directly with scores from different generations of the same benchmark.
What the specifications mean in a phone
CPU and everyday performance
The two Cortex-A75 cores handle performance-oriented work, while six Cortex-A55 cores are designed for more efficiency-focused tasks. The core layout and listed clocks explain the processor’s basic design, but they do not establish how quickly a particular phone will open apps or sustain demanding workloads. Software, cooling, memory and the phone maker’s implementation also matter.
Graphics and gaming claims
The listed GPU is an Arm Mali-G52 MC2 clocked up to 820 MHz. MediaTek says its HyperEngine feature dynamically manages CPU, GPU and memory according to active power, thermal and gameplay factors. That is the manufacturer’s description of the feature; it does not establish a particular frame rate or sustained gaming performance in every handset.
Display, camera and video capabilities
The maximum display resolution and camera configurations in the table are ceilings supported by the platform. They do not tell you which screen or camera sensors a phone actually includes, or whether its manufacturer enables every listed mode. Likewise, the listed video limits describe platform encoding and playback capabilities rather than the full recording experience of a specific device.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.G81 and G81 Extreme: check the exact phone variant
Manufacturers may use a suffix or product label rather than the plain chipset name. Motorola calls the Moto G05 processor “MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme” and lists two A75 cores at 2.0 GHz, six A55 cores at 1.7 GHz and Mali-G52 MC2 graphics at 820 MHz. A benchmark attributed to that phone should retain its handset and variant context.

The same page describes a 6.67-inch 120 Hz display at 720 × 1,600 and multiple memory and storage configurations. Those are Spark 40 product details—not universal Helio G81 specifications—and illustrate why the exact regional and model variant matters.
How to compare a G81 phone with another phone
Use the benchmark as one piece of evidence, then compare the phones themselves. Check:
Quick Recap
- Exact model and region: Confirm the full model number or regional SKU and whether its processor is labeled G81, G81 Extreme or something else.
- Memory and storage: Compare the phone’s actual RAM and storage capacity, not just the chipset’s maximum supported configuration.
- Benchmark details: Match the test suite and version, and note the device used. A score without those details is difficult to interpret.
- Whole-phone fit: Consider display, battery, software, support and price alongside processor performance. The chipset name alone cannot determine whether a phone is good value.
