The MediaTek Helio G25 is an entry-level 4G smartphone platform built around eight Cortex-A53 CPU cores and a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. MediaTek specifies a maximum CPU frequency of 2.0 GHz, a maximum GPU frequency of 650 MHz, and support for displays up to 1600 × 720. A benchmark score, however, belongs to a particular phone and test—not to every Helio G25 device.
What is the MediaTek Helio G25?
MediaTek announced the Helio G25 on June 30, 2020, positioning it alongside the G35 for mainstream gaming smartphones. The company promoted HyperEngine optimizations and described the chips as offering power efficiency, performance, gameplay and photography benefits. Those are vendor positioning claims, not results established by a controlled independent test. MediaTek’s launch announcement provides the announcement date and positioning.
In practical terms, the G25 is an older, entry-level platform: it provides 4G connectivity and modest CPU and GPU specifications rather than high-end processing hardware. A phone’s actual speed and features also depend on its memory, storage, software, cooling, display and model configuration.

What the specifications mean in a phone
CPU and graphics
The eight Cortex-A53 cores and their 2.0 GHz maximum frequency define the CPU design and peak clock capability. The PowerVR GE8320 is the graphics processor, with a stated maximum frequency of 650 MHz. These figures alone do not predict how quickly a specific phone will open apps or sustain a game: software, thermal limits, memory and the workload matter too.
Memory and storage
The memory figures are alternatives supported by the platform, not a single configuration included in every G25 phone. A handset maker selects the memory type and capacity. Storage is specified as eMMC 5.1, but the chip specification does not state a phone’s storage capacity or how much space remains available to the user.
Display and media
The platform supports displays up to 1600 × 720 and video playback up to 1080p at 30 fps for H.264 and H.265. A phone maker chooses the installed panel, so the maximum supported resolution should not be mistaken for the resolution of every G25 handset.

Connectivity
The platform’s 4G and wireless capabilities do not establish which LTE bands, SIM arrangements or service features a particular phone supports. Those depend on the exact handset model and the market where it is sold. Check the manufacturer’s specifications for the model variant you intend to use.
Helio G25 benchmark: how to read the reported score
91mobiles reports an AnTuTu score of 115,616 as the highest score it recorded among devices running the Helio G25. The site says its figures come from real-world device tests. This is a reported result for tested hardware, not a guaranteed score for every G25 phone. The page does not establish in the available report a benchmark version and testing context that would make the figure a universal or directly comparable baseline. See 91mobiles’ Helio G25 page for its current details.
A benchmark is useful only with its context. AnTuTu versions can differ, and an overall score is not interchangeable with a CPU-only or GPU-only result. A phone’s RAM, storage, firmware, temperature and background activity can also affect a run. Notebookcheck maintains a Helio G25 specification and benchmark page; use a specific test, version and sample basis when comparing any values there.

How to compare two Helio G25 phones
There is no controlled, same-lab comparison across multiple G25 handsets established here, so the available score does not support ranking all models quantitatively. For a useful comparison, line up the same test and version, then account for the handset differences that can influence performance.
Recommended Free Tools
- Benchmark: Match the app and version, and compare like with like—overall, CPU or GPU results.
- Configuration: Note RAM type and capacity, storage, firmware and background workload.
- Sustained performance: Consider temperature and performance over time, not just a short peak run.
- Workload: For games or graphics tests, account for the phone’s display resolution and the settings used.
- Network: Check the exact model variant and its LTE bands if cellular compatibility matters.
Example handset: Xiaomi Redmi 9A
A benchmark video listing identifies a Xiaomi Redmi 9A with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage as a Helio G25 phone. That makes it a concrete example of a handset using the platform, but the listing alone does not establish test settings, software build, ambient conditions or repeatability. Its results should not be treated as representative of every G25 phone.
