The Maxi-Cosi Lila Duo Kit adds a second, forward-facing seat to the Maxi-Cosi Lila stroller, but it is a specialized accessory rather than a universal Maxi-Cosi upgrade. It is intended for children from 6 months to about 3.5 years, up to 15 kg. The seat does not recline, and you must remove it before folding the stroller. Those limits make compatibility and everyday setup more important than a simple seat-count comparison.
What is included in the Maxi-Cosi Lila Duo Kit?
Maxi-Cosi describes the kit as a way to convert the Lila into a duo stroller. The UK product listing says it includes the second seat, a pedal, a raincover and adapters; confirm the contents for your region because listings may differ. The Duo seat weighs 3.9 kg according to the manufacturer’s product information.
The seat’s own adapters are attached, so you do not need extra adapters just to connect it to the Lila chassis. The kit’s long adapters are for specified configurations involving the main seat, a carrycot or a car seat. Follow the instructions for the exact arrangement rather than assuming every combination uses the same fittings.
What age can use the Lila Duo seat?
The UK manufacturer listing gives an age range of 6 months to approximately 3.5 years and a maximum child weight of 15 kg. Use both limits as stated: a child should meet the age guidance and remain within the weight limit. The Duo seat faces forward and does not recline, so it is not a substitute for a seat with a lie-flat or reclining position.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Does the Lila Duo seat fit other Maxi-Cosi strollers?
No. Maxi-Cosi says the Lila Duo Kit is compatible only with the Maxi-Cosi Lila stroller. Do not assume it fits another Maxi-Cosi chassis or the separately listed Lila CP. The official compatibility statement is on the Lila Duo Kit product page.
Check the model name on your stroller before buying. The Lila CP is a distinct model: its support page lists a 6-month-to-4-year range, a 22 kg maximum, an 11 kg product weight, and folding with its seat attached. Those specifications describe the Lila CP, not the Lila Duo Kit or a Lila configured with the second seat. See the Lila CP product page for that model’s details.

Can you fold the Lila stroller with the Duo seat attached?
No. Remove the second seat before folding the Lila. Maxi-Cosi says the adapters and pedal may remain on the stroller, but the Duo seat itself cannot stay attached. This means folding requires an extra removal and reattachment step when you use the two-seat setup.

Which car seats or carrycots work with the Lila Duo Kit?
The manufacturer describes Duo configurations that use a carrycot or car seat, but compatibility depends on the exact model and arrangement. The available product information does not establish a complete model-by-model list here, so do not infer compatibility from the Maxi-Cosi brand alone. Check the current instructions and regional product information for both the Duo Kit and the specific car seat or carrycot before combining them.
Maxi-Cosi lists the Lila child tray, Lila cup holder, Maxi-Cosi Footmuff and Maxi-Cosi 2-in-1 Footmuff as accessories for the Duo Seat. Confirm fit for the exact accessory version and local market, as availability and listings can vary.

Is the Maxi-Cosi Lila Duo Seat worth it?
It may suit a family that already owns a Lila and needs a manufacturer-supported second-seat option for an older infant or toddler within the stated limits. It is a less straightforward fit if you need a reclining second seat, want to fold without removing it, or need an accessory that works across different stroller models.

There is not enough evidence here to judge ride quality, maneuverability, durability or comfort against other double strollers: the available information establishes specifications and operating constraints, not hands-on performance results. Treat this as a compatibility and feature assessment rather than an independent performance verdict.

Availability also needs checking locally. The official UK page showed the Duo Kit out of stock when checked. CHOICE’s listing labels the product “Single + extra seat double stroller” and displays A$1,548, but that is a displayed listing price, not a verified current retail offer or an accessible test result. See the CHOICE listing and verify stock and price with a local seller before making a purchase decision.
