Phoenix Cyclops is the first confirmed Year 1 DLC character for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, launching November 2, 2026. The announced Year 1 lineup also includes Venom, Jane Foster’s Thor, and Jubilee. However, only Cyclops has an official release date so far; no verified order or dates have been published for the other three characters.

The Year 1 Characters & Stage Pass covers four additional playable characters and one additional stage. It also includes battle-result poses for the game’s 20 base-roster characters. This guide separates confirmed information from details that remain unannounced, so you can understand what the roadmap actually promises without treating speculation as a schedule.

Confirmed MARVEL Tōkon DLC roadmap at a glance

Character or content What is confirmed Release date or order
Phoenix Cyclops First Year 1 DLC character; Classic and Legacy costumes announced November 2, 2026
Venom Named as a Year 1 DLC character in GamesRadar’s report Date and order not announced in the cited official material
Jane Foster’s Thor Named as a Year 1 DLC character in GamesRadar’s report Date and order not announced in the cited official material
Jubilee Named as a Year 1 DLC character in GamesRadar’s report Date and order not announced in the cited official material
Additional stage Included in the Year 1 Characters & Stage Pass Timing not separately announced

The Cyclops date comes from producer Takeshi Yamanaka’s October 7, 2026 PlayStation Blog announcement: Phoenix Cyclops joins MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls on November 2. GamesRadar identified the other three names in its October 11 report, but that report does not establish a release sequence.

Phoenix Cyclops is the only dated Year 1 character

Phoenix Cyclops arrives on November 2, 2026. The announcement also confirms two costumes, called “Classic” and “Legacy,” for the same day. This is the first concrete milestone in the Year 1 plan and the only character date currently stated in the official release announcement reviewed for this roadmap.

Yamanaka describes this version of Cyclops as an all-rounder designed to present the character differently from his established fighting-game history. His toolkit combines ranged Optic Blasts with close-range attacks, while Phoenix Force techniques help him control space. That description suggests a character who can contest distance and still function when opponents get close, but it is not a complete move list or balance specification.

How Cyclops’s Phoenix mechanic works

Using Optic Blasts builds Solar Shards. When four shards have been collected, Cyclops can enter a Dark Phoenix transformation. The transformation temporarily increases his power, but it also carries a health-depletion risk. The trade-off is central to understanding the character: the resource rewards active use of his ranged tools, while the transformation asks the player to convert that setup into a high-impact window before the health cost becomes decisive.

These mechanics are character information, not evidence of a broader DLC cadence. The announcement does not say how frequently later fighters will arrive, whether every character will receive alternate costumes at launch, or whether the stage will release alongside a particular fighter.

Who is in the Year 1 lineup?

Venom

Venom is one of the four names reported for Year One. No official date, release month, trailer schedule, gameplay description, or position in the launch sequence is established by the cited sources. The name confirms planned inclusion in the announced lineup, not a promised second release after Cyclops.

Jane Foster’s Thor

Jane Foster’s Thor is also listed for Year One. The available announcement material does not specify whether this character will use a particular fighting style, how her moves differ from other Thor interpretations, or when she will become playable. Treat any proposed role or date as unconfirmed until an official character post provides it.

Jubilee

Jubilee completes the three reported names beyond Cyclops. Her inclusion is established by the October 11 GamesRadar report, but no official release order or date appears in the cited PlayStation announcement. There is therefore no reliable basis for calling her the final Year 1 character or assigning her to a particular season.

Why the names do not establish an order

Secondary coverage lists Phoenix Cyclops, Venom, Jane Foster’s Thor, and Jubilee, but a list of names is not a release schedule. The official October 7 post dates Cyclops and does not date the others. Until the publisher or platform announcement gives additional milestones, the responsible roadmap is “Cyclops on November 2; Venom, Thor, and Jubilee TBA.”

What the Year 1 Characters & Stage Pass includes

The official FAQ says the pass includes four additional DLC characters and one additional stage, with each item becoming available upon release. It also lists battle-result poses for the game’s 20 base-roster characters. Those poses are a cosmetic bonus for the launch roster; they are not additional playable fighters.

  • AI enhanced movement makes it easier for your team to execute your gameplan with ball carrier pathfinding and QB and DB awareness.
  • Skill-based Passing 2.0 has improved accuracy, DB behavior, and catching for more intuitive throwing and defensive actions.
  • Hit Everything 2.0 gives your teammates greater situational awareness, allowing them to push the pile and gain ground to attack the football more effectively.
Pass component Confirmed scope What is not specified
DLC fighters Four additional playable characters: the reported Year 1 lineup Release dates and order for Venom, Jane Foster’s Thor, and Jubilee
Stage One additional stage Stage name, setting, launch date, and whether it arrives with a particular character
Battle-result poses Poses for 20 base-roster characters Specific pose designs and whether they are delivered all at once

The pass is not described as a bundle of every future update. Yamanaka wrote that the team planned “a variety of updates, including new characters, new stages, and more” after launch, but that broad statement is not a dated commitment beyond the announced Year 1 pass. It should not be read as confirmation of a second character pass, a fixed number of post-Year 1 stages, or a permanent release schedule.

Platforms, launch date, and editions

PlayStation announced MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls for PlayStation 5 and PC, with a launch date of August 6, 2026. The announcement describes Standard, Digital Deluxe, and Ultimate editions. Digital Deluxe includes the Year 1 Characters & Stage Pass, according to the release announcement and the accompanying product information: MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls arrives on PS5 & PC August 6.

The official FAQ is the best place to verify the pass specification as store pages change: MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls FAQ. What players can realistically expect from the roadmap

A first character reveal, followed by separate announcements

Cyclops’s detailed announcement shows the likely information standard for future reveals: a character identity, a release date, and a description of the fighter’s design. It does not guarantee that Venom, Thor, or Jubilee will be announced at equal intervals. A future post may provide all three dates together, or it may reveal them one at a time.

Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls (PS5) - Intense 4v4 combat, anime style, tactical mechanic, voice acting story.
  • GRAPHYC STYLE: The game combines Marvel's iconic characters with a distinctive anime-stylized visual presentation. The colourful and unique graphics offer a new experience for both anime and Marvel fans, making the game stand out in comparison to other titles within the same genre.
  • STRATEGIC GAME: Focusing on 4v4 battles, the game offers in-depth tactical mechanics. Players must use the unique abilities and synergies of their heroes to outlast opponents, which require both strategic thinking and quick decision making to succeed on the battlefield.
  • VERSATILE OF CHARACTERISTICS: A wide selection of Marvel legendary characters are available, giving gamers freedom to pick their favourite heroes and villains. Each character has their own unique abilities and playing styles, which offer variety and customization in each game.
  • STORY MODE: The game includes a full voice-acting story mode available in 10 different languages. This brings a deeper and more engaging experience, where gamers can enjoy a rich and multi-faceted story with their favorite characters.
  • MULTIPLE AVAILABILITY: By offering the story mode in ten different languages, the game has a wide international appeal. This makes it more accessible to a global audience and allows more players to enjoy the game's story and characters in their native language.

No confirmed monthly or quarterly cadence

Nothing in the cited official material establishes a monthly, quarterly, or seasonal rhythm. Do not convert the four-character count into an estimated three-month interval, and do not infer that the order of names in coverage is the order in which they will launch. A cadence becomes reliable only when the publisher publishes dates or a schedule.

The stage is part of the pass, but its timing is unknown

The pass promises one additional stage, yet no separate stage name or delivery date is provided. It could accompany a character release or arrive through a separate update; the available sources do not decide between those possibilities. The only safe expectation is that the stage is included in the pass scope and will be made available when its release is announced.

Cosmetics are not the same as playable content

The 20 battle-result poses belong to the base roster and should not be counted as 20 DLC characters. Likewise, Cyclops’s Classic and Legacy costumes are alternate appearances for one fighter, not separate roster slots. Keeping those categories separate prevents the pass from appearing larger than its confirmed playable content.

How to follow updates without relying on rumor

  1. Anchor your calendar to November 2, 2026. That is the confirmed release date for Phoenix Cyclops.
  2. Use the official character announcement as the authority for dates. The PlayStation Blog post identifies the date, costumes, and gameplay concept for Cyclops.
  3. Check the FAQ for pass scope. It documents the four-character, one-stage structure and the 20 battle-result poses.
  4. Label every other date TBA until an official announcement appears. This applies to Venom, Jane Foster’s Thor, Jubilee, and the additional stage.
  5. Verify your edition and platform entitlement. Digital Deluxe is identified as including the pass, but regional store language and physical bundles can differ.

Should you buy the pass now or wait?

The decision depends on whether the confirmed structure is enough for you without knowing the later dates. Buying an edition that includes the pass gives access to four planned fighters and one stage as they release, while waiting lets you evaluate Cyclops and any subsequent character details before committing. Because the cited sources do not provide current prices or regional terms, compare the live store descriptions rather than an archived announcement.

Waiting is especially sensible if your decision depends on a particular character. Cyclops is dated; Venom, Jane Foster’s Thor, and Jubilee are named but not scheduled. If one of those three is the reason you would purchase, the pass announcement alone cannot tell you when that character will be playable.

The bottom line on the MARVEL Tōkon DLC roadmap

The reliable roadmap has one date: Phoenix Cyclops launches November 2, 2026, with Classic and Legacy costumes. Year One is reported to contain Venom, Jane Foster’s Thor, and Jubilee as the other three playable additions, and the pass includes one additional stage plus battle-result poses for the 20-character base roster. No official release order or dates are established for those remaining fighters, so any detailed calendar beyond Cyclops would be speculation rather than a confirmed roadmap.
