The Marshall Bromley 150 is a 200W portable party speaker that puts unusually deep bass, convincing 360-degree sound and stage-style lighting into a 13.9-pound (6.3kg) cube. Its 40-hour battery, replaceable components and microphone/instrument inputs make it more versatile than a typical living-room Bluetooth speaker. At $499.99 / £399.99 / AU$699, however, you are paying a substantial premium for Marshall styling, construction and impact rather than maximum power or the lowest price.
What the Marshall Bromley 150 is
The Bromley 150 is the smallest model in Marshall’s Bromley party-speaker range, scheduled for release in October 2026. Its cabinet combines faux leather, gold-colored detailing, physical bass and treble knobs, and stage-inspired LED lighting. A built-in handle makes it practical to carry between rooms, to a backyard or to a small gathering, while the robust enclosure is rated IP55.
IP55 means protection from dust and water jets. It is suitable for a splash-prone outdoor setup, but it is not an immersion rating; do not submerge the speaker or leave it exposed to heavy rain. The battery and several other parts are replaceable, an unusual advantage in this category for owners planning to keep the speaker for years.

Sound quality: bass first, with genuine 360-degree coverage
Power and low end
The system is rated at 200W and uses one 6.5-inch woofer plus two 2-inch full-range drivers. TechRadar’s 2026 review measured low-frequency extension to 42Hz and described the result as “the sort of bass that you feel in your soul.” In practical use, kick drums and electronic bass arrive with force but remain controlled rather than turning into a loose, one-note rumble.

How the 360-degree output behaves
Marshall’s True Stereophonic design keeps the bass and high frequencies audible from the sides and rear, so listeners around a table or dance area hear a more consistent balance than they would from a forward-firing box. Vocals and treble stay clear at party volume. The compromise is refinement: compared with similarly priced competitors, midrange texture and the separation of guitars can sound less finely resolved.
Codec limitation
Bluetooth 5.3 is included, but the Bromley 150 does not support LDAC. Listeners seeking a high-resolution Bluetooth codec therefore have fewer wireless options, even though ordinary streaming services and standard Bluetooth playback work normally.

Battery life
Marshall rates the battery for up to 40 hours. Actual runtime varies with volume, lighting and source content, so the figure should be treated as a manufacturer rating rather than a guaranteed playing time at maximum output. It is still one of the speaker’s strongest practical advantages for weekend events or repeated outdoor use.

Lighting and physical controls
The front lighting is deliberately stage-like rather than subtle ambient illumination. Physical bass and treble controls let you make quick adjustments without opening an app, which is useful when the speaker is being passed around or used outdoors.
The Marshall Bluetooth app is basic
The companion app can tune into Auracast, assign the speaker’s M-button and set an automatic power-off timer. It cannot provide remote equalizer adjustment or change karaoke and instrument effects. If you want to reshape the sound while standing away from the speaker, you must use the physical controls instead. That limitation matters more for performers and hosts than for listeners who set the tone once and leave it alone.

The Sony ULT Tower 5 is the value-and-power choice if size and carrying weight are secondary. The JBL Xtreme 5 is the better fit for a lower-cost, lighter speaker that may face harsher weather. The Bromley 150 occupies the middle ground: more portable than a tower, more feature-rich for microphones and instruments than many compact models, and more polished in appearance than either alternative.

Who should buy the Bromley 150?
- Buy it if you want a transportable party speaker with deep, room-filling bass, consistent sound around the cabinet, long battery life, distinctive lighting and a premium physical design.
- Choose something else if maximum watts per dollar, remote EQ, LDAC, RCA connectivity or IP68-level waterproofing is more important than styling and replaceable parts.
The price is easiest to justify when the speaker will serve several roles—music playback, small acoustic performances, karaoke-style microphone use and outdoor parties—and when its design and repairability matter as much as raw output. For a simple Bluetooth speaker used indoors, less expensive models provide a stronger value.
