The Marshall Acton III is a $299.99 mains-powered Bluetooth speaker, but the advertised $110 saving is not confirmed by the available price evidence. Sweetwater listed it at $199.99 (a $100 reduction), while a SoundGuys deal report said Amazon had it at $179.99 on July 2, 2026. Those are different, time-sensitive prices, so check the live listing, seller and stock before buying.
What the Acton III deal actually shows
Marshall’s US product page lists the Acton III at $299.99. Sweetwater displayed a $199.99 price with an advertised $100 instant saving. Separately, SoundGuys reported an Amazon price of $179.99 on July 2, 2026. The latter is $120 below Marshall’s list price, not $110, and it may have been a short-lived promotion. No dated listing in the available evidence proves a $110 discount, so treat that headline as unverified rather than as a guaranteed checkout price.

What kind of speaker is it?
The Acton III is Marshall’s most compact Home Line III model. It is designed for a shelf, sideboard or media area and must remain connected to mains power; it is not a battery-powered portable speaker. Marshall describes it as fitting anywhere while delivering prominent sound. Its 260 × 170 × 150 mm cabinet (10.24 × 6.69 × 5.91 inches) and 2.85 kg (6.28 lb) weight are small enough for ordinary furniture, but substantial enough that placement and a stable surface matter.
#1 Best Overall
- ROOM-FILLING SOUND: Acton III has an even wider soundstage than its predecessor, delivering immersive, room-filling Marshall signature sound.
- PAIR, PLAY AND TURN IT UP: Acton III is straight to business, so you can just pair and play without the hassle of a complex set-up
- NEXT-GENERATION BLUETOOTH: Acton III is ready for the future of Bluetooth technology and has been built to deliver next-generation Bluetooth features the moment they are available
- ICONIC DESIGN THAT STANDS APART: Marshall has taken its signature rock ’n’ roll home speaker line-up and given it a stripped-back look that makes a loud statement
- A MORE SUSTAINABLE APPROACH: While staying true to the iconic design that speaks to the brand’s heritage, Acton III has a PVC-free build that comprises 70% recycled plastic and only vegan materials.
Bluetooth 5.2 provides the wireless connection, with readiness for Bluetooth LE Audio. Playback is stereo, and a 3.5 mm analogue input lets you connect a source with an aux cable. You do not need Wi‑Fi, a microphone system, voice commands or the Marshall app to play music.
Sound and hardware specifications
| Specification | Acton III |

| Frequency range | 45–20,000 Hz (Marshall, 2026) |
| Amplification | One 30 W Class D woofer amplifier and two 15 W Class D tweeter amplifiers |

| Wired connection | 3.5 mm input |
| Controls | Analogue bass and treble controls |
| Power and size | Mains-powered; 260 × 170 × 150 mm; 2.85 kg |
The amplifier layout uses a 30 W channel for the woofer and two 15 W channels for the tweeters. The stated 95 dB maximum SPL is measured at 1 m; it is not a promise that every room will reach that level evenly. Room dimensions, furniture, listening distance and the recording itself affect perceived loudness and bass.

Living room or party speaker?
For everyday living-room listening
Its compact cabinet, stereo playback and adjustable bass and treble suit a living room, office or bedroom where you want a dedicated speaker without a multi-box system. Place it on a solid shelf with clearance around the cabinet rather than inside a tightly enclosed cubby, and use the analogue controls to compensate for a bright or bass-heavy room.

The Acton III can provide strong near-field and small-room volume, but it is still the smallest Home Line III model. A large, crowded room or an outdoor event demands more acoustic output and wider coverage than this cabinet is intended to provide. Marshall identifies the larger Stanmore III and Woburn III as the bigger alternatives, with differences centered on cabinet size and driver/amplifier configuration. Exact comparative prices, dimensions and power figures are not stated in the cited product information, so choose them only when you have confirmed current specifications for your market.

- WIDER SOUNDSTAGE: Improved tweeters and waveguides disperse sound to cover a bigger area.
- ENHANCED BASS: A redesigned bass port that creates a cleaner and more powerful bass with tighter sound at higher volumes. Now it’s also easier to place it flush against the wall without affecting audio performance.
- DYNAMIC LOUDNESS: Get a consistent and balanced sound at all volumes.
- NEW CUSTOMIZABLE M-BUTTON: The fourth edition of Acton now features the M-button. One press to get to your music or adjust sound or dive straight into your favorite music via Spotify Tap.
- UPDATED TACTILE CONTROLS: Heritage amp-inspired design for intuitive interactions. The classic brass top panel includes an improved media control and the signature power switch.
Connectivity: Bluetooth, aux and the app
Bluetooth setup
- Connect the speaker to mains power and switch it on.
- Open Bluetooth settings on your phone, tablet or computer.
- Select the Acton III from the available device list and start playback.
Bluetooth is the primary wireless method. Because the speaker has no Wi‑Fi, it cannot join a home network for network streaming, and it has no built-in voice assistant or microphone-based commands.
Using an aux cable
Run a 3.5 mm cable from the source’s headphone or line output to the Acton III’s 3.5 mm input, select the corresponding input on the speaker, then control source volume and the speaker’s bass and treble. This is useful for a computer, turntable with the appropriate preamp, or another device that should not use Bluetooth.
Rank #4
- 50+ HOURS OF PORTABLE PLAYTIME: Portable playtime for over two days.
- TRUE STEREOPHONIC: 360° sound you can hear wherever you stand.
- DUST & WATER-RESISTANT: IP54 rated, resistant to dust and water splashes.
- DYNAMIC LOUDNESS: Perfect audio at every volume.
- TACTILE CONTROLS: Intuitive controls in Marshall’s signature style.
Do you need Marshall’s app?
No. Basic playback works without it. Marshall recommends its Bluetooth app for the best experience, such as managing supported speaker settings and updates, but the app is not a prerequisite for sound.

What the Acton III does not provide
- No Wi‑Fi or network-streaming connection.
- No microphone system or voice-command support.
- No battery operation; it must be plugged in.
- No stated water-resistance rating, so keep it away from rain, splashes and humid outdoor conditions.
Should you buy at the current price?
At $199.99, the Sweetwater listing represented a $100 reduction from Marshall’s $299.99 US list price. The $179.99 Amazon price reported by SoundGuys would be lower still, but it was specifically reported on July 2, 2026 and may no longer exist. A purchase makes the most sense when you want a compact, mains-powered Bluetooth speaker with an aux input and physical tone controls, and the live price is meaningfully below list. If you need battery portability, Wi‑Fi streaming, voice control or weather resistance, the Acton III’s feature set does not meet those requirements regardless of the discount.
