Magic: The Gathering is set to have at least four Commander decks for each of its six 2027 sets, according to a Mark Rosewater reply reproduced in a Reddit post that links to Blogatog. That means a minimum of 24 decks—not a confirmed final total. The original Tumblr post could not be independently inspected, so the wording should be treated as a reported confirmation.
What Rosewater reportedly confirmed
The Reddit post reproduces a reply attributed to Mark Rosewater, identified there as “markrosewater”: “I’m not sure what was said at MagicCon Amsterdam, but I can confirm that all six sets of 2027 will have at least four Commander decks.” The post links to the original Blogatog exchange, but the Tumblr page was inaccessible for independent inspection. Why the number is at least 24
Applying the statement’s minimum to all six sets gives six multiplied by four, or 24 Commander decks. Because Rosewater’s reported wording is “at least four” per set, 24 is a floor; the final count could be higher. It does not establish an exact total.

Popverse’s report on the 2027 sets and Commander decks provides this slate and describes the lineup as 24 decks. The reproduced Rosewater wording supports a minimum, rather than an exact total.

The reproduced reply does not name individual decks or provide their themes, card lists, prices, preorder dates, or availability. It confirms a per-set minimum as reported, not product-specific details. While Commander preconstructed decks are an established Magic product category, existing listings do not show that 2027 decks are currently on sale. Popverse’s Magic release-schedule article links to existing Commander products, not verified 2027 inventory.
