To make content appear smaller on a supported Samsung Galaxy tablet, open Settings > Display > Screen zoom and move the slider toward the minus side. This reduces the apparent size of interface text and images; it does not change the tablet’s physical screen dimensions.
Reduce screen zoom on a Samsung tablet
- Open Settings.
- Tap Display.
- Tap Screen zoom.
- Move the slider toward minus to make text and images appear smaller. Move it toward plus to make them larger.

Choose the control that matches what you want to change

Samsung documents the separate text controls in its display settings guidance, split-screen and pop-up sizing in its Galaxy tablet multitasking guide, and DeX-specific options in its external display troubleshooting guide and DeX overview. These window and DeX controls are not substitutes for Screen zoom in the standard tablet interface.

If Screen zoom is missing
Samsung notes that available display settings and their labels can vary by model and software. Search Settings for Screen zoom; if it still does not appear, consult the manual for your specific tablet or Samsung Support’s model-aware display settings guidance. The exact menu path is not guaranteed to be identical across all Galaxy tablets.

Why one-handed mode is not the tablet screen-size setting
One-handed mode temporarily shrinks the display on Galaxy phones, according to Samsung’s phone instructions. It is not the general tablet setting for making interface content smaller.
