In iOS 27, choose Siri’s voice at Settings > Siri > Voice. Siri AI users with eligible devices may also find Pace and Expressivity controls there. If you want to change Siri’s general speaking speed, use the separate Speaking Rate slider at Settings > Accessibility > Siri.
Choose a Siri voice or variation
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap Siri, then Voice.
- Under Variations, choose a variation, or choose an option under Voices.
The choices shown depend on your Siri version and settings. Apple does not document one complete voice catalog that applies to every device, language, and region, so use the options displayed on your iPhone rather than expecting a particular voice name.
Apple’s iOS 27 iPhone guide documents voice and variation selection at this settings path.
Use Siri AI Pace and Expressivity
On supported iPhones where Siri AI is enabled, the Settings > Siri > Voice screen can also provide Pace and Expressivity adjustments. Pace changes how quickly Siri speaks; Expressivity changes its vocal delivery. Apple currently documents these adjustments for American and British voices, so they may not appear for other voice varieties.
#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
Siri AI is a beta feature, not a capability available on every iPhone running iOS 27. Availability depends on supported hardware, language settings, and eligible region. Apple says Siri AI is initially available in English and is not initially available in the EU on iOS. Its current requirements list iPhone 15 Pro models and later, iPhone 16 models or later, and iPhone Air for iOS 27 Siri AI; Expressive Voices also have hardware-specific requirements. Check Apple’s Siri AI setup guide and current device and feature requirements for eligibility.
Pick the control that matches what you want to change
| Goal | Setting | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
| Choose a voice or variation | Settings > Siri > Voice | The available voice or variation shown on your device. |
| Tune Siri AI’s pace or expressivity | Settings > Siri > Voice | Speaking pace or vocal delivery; currently documented for American and British voices. |
| Change general speaking speed | Settings > Accessibility > Siri > Speaking Rate | The speaking-rate setting; Apple says it also affects paired Apple Watch and CarPlay. |
| Give Siri more time to wait | Settings > Accessibility > Siri > Siri Pause Time | Choose Default, Longer, or Longest in iOS 27. |
| Make Siri louder or quieter | Device or headphone volume controls while Siri is speaking | Loudness only, not voice choice, pace, or expressivity. |
The Accessibility Speaking Rate and Siri AI Pace are separate controls. For the general rate slider, pause time, and volume guidance, see Apple’s instructions for Siri volume and speaking rate.

If Pace or Expressivity is missing
- Confirm that your iPhone model meets Apple’s current Siri AI requirements.
- Check whether Siri AI is available for your region and language settings; the feature is beta and its availability is limited.
- Check the selected voice variety. Apple currently lists Pace and Expressivity for American and British voices.
- Distinguish Siri AI controls from Accessibility settings: the Speaking Rate and Siri Pause Time options are under Settings > Accessibility > Siri, not the Siri Voice screen.
