CorelDRAW’s Print Merge command can place student-specific details—such as names and classes—into repeated school identity card layouts. Prepare a record for each student, add matching merge fields to a reusable card design, then either print the merged cards or create a merged document to review first. The exact interface depends on your CorelDRAW release; the Hindi tutorial linked below dates to 2017.
What Print Merge does for school identity cards
Print Merge combines a drawing’s layout with text from a data source. The drawing is the card form; the data source contains the changing details, with one student’s information in each record. After the fields are placed in the design, CorelDRAW can produce a personalized card for each record. It automates repeated content, but does not design the card itself. The title-matching Hindi video from Desktop Publishing Tips, published June 30, 2017, demonstrates using a database to insert student details into separate school ID cards: Creating School Identity Card with Print Merge Command in CorelDraw. Treat its menu instructions as specific to the release shown, rather than assuming they match a current installation.

Make a consistent data source
Organize the student information in a table with clear, consistent column names, such as StudentName and Class, and one student per record. Corel’s tutorial demonstrates a delimited text file and notes that a CSV exported from Excel can also be imported. Confirm the supported formats and import route in your installed version before building a large batch; older releases may present different choices. Set up the reusable form
Open or create the card layout, associate a data source or create one, and insert the corresponding merge fields where variable text belongs. For example, place the student-name field in the name area and the class field in the class area, then format and position each field as card text. Corel’s current Mac help explains selecting a source column, inserting its field, and dragging it into position: Create a form document. Interface details can differ by platform and release.
Keep fixed artwork—such as a school logo or decorative elements—in the form, and use fields only for details that change from student to student. Long names or other unusually lengthy entries can affect how text fits: Corel’s tutorial notes that text fields expand with their contents. Inspect records with the longest values in the merged result and adjust the layout or text formatting before printing.

Choose how to produce the merged cards

When corrections affect the underlying data or reusable design, make them in the source records or form document and create the merge again. The new document is most useful for checking individualized output and making small final adjustments.

Corel’s Discovery Center says Print Merge was enhanced in the September 2023 Subscriber Update with support for QR codes, images, and .xlsx data. Those capabilities are release-dependent; check the documentation and options available in your installed edition rather than assuming every version includes them.
