The MacLaren T-01 Twin is a discontinued side-by-side double stroller. CHOICE’s public listing gives its core specifications, but hides the product’s Expert Rating, detailed test outcomes, recommendations, and full pros and cons behind membership. The available public information therefore supports a specification-based overview—not a verdict on how it performed in CHOICE’s tests.
What the public review establishes
CHOICE lists the T-01 Twin as discontinued. Its page shows a price of $499, but does not establish that the stroller is currently sold, in stock, or available at that price. Treat that amount as a figure shown on the review listing, not a current offer. CHOICE’s MacLaren T-01 Twin listing identifies Kim Gilmour as a senior project officer who manages product tests; the public page does not disclose this model’s detailed results.

What CHOICE’s public page does not reveal
The public view does not show the T-01 Twin’s Expert Rating, performance or ease-of-use scores, safety and durability test outcomes, recommendations, or detailed pros and cons. Those items are member-only. Safety and recall information: check the exact stroller
A manual available for the Maclaren Twin Techno advises keeping children clear during folding and unfolding, using the harness, applying the brakes when parked, and avoiding overload. However, the sources reviewed do not establish that the T-01 Twin is the Twin Techno. The manual’s region-specific load limits—15 kg per child for European standards, 20 kg per child for AU/NZ products, and 25 kg per child plus a 110 cm height limit for US testing—must not be treated as T-01 Twin specifications. Read the Twin Techno operating instructions only if you have that model.
Product Safety Australia reported on 13 November 2009 that Maclaren recalls related to children’s fingers entering an elbow hinge while a stroller was being unfolded. The report cited at least 80,000 recalled units in Australia and one million in the United States; these are historical, brand-level figures, not a T-01 Twin-specific recall count. The Australian report quoted Consumer Affairs Director Dr Claire Noone advising consumers to read nursery-equipment instructions carefully.

In a 9 May 2011 update, Maclaren USA said a voluntary recall had been announced with the CPSC in November 2009 and that hinge covers remained available for older umbrella strollers. That update discusses Maclaren umbrella strollers generally and does not establish whether the T-01 Twin was included. Read the Maclaren USA safety update. For a used stroller, verify its model, date, hinge design, and applicable official recall or corrective-action record before relying on general brand history.

Because the model is discontinued and a current seller or compatible replacement parts have not been established, identify the specific stroller before buying or using it. Use the model label and any available documentation to confirm what you have, then check the relevant official recall information for that exact product. Do not assume that instructions or parts for another Maclaren model apply.

For a practical comparison with another double stroller, check the measurements and limits that affect your routine: width for doorways and storage, folded dimensions, stroller weight, child weight capacity, newborn suitability, basket capacity, brakes, recline, and current availability. The T-01 Twin’s listed 86 cm width and 13.9 kg weight are useful points of comparison, but the listing does not provide a folded measurement.
