Running a modpack with friends? Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks (CurseForge, FTB, Technic) and free DDoS protection.
Lucky World Invasion is a Minecraft 1.20.1 modpack built for Forge. Install the same release on every client and on the server: the current listed release is 2.7.2 (July 26, 2025). Download the client pack and the separate server-files archive from the project’s CurseForge files page, then choose between self-hosting for maximum control or managed hosting for a panel-driven installation and updates.
What Lucky World Invasion is
Lucky World Invasion combines lucky-block randomness with survival, combat and invasion mechanics. The pack’s official description presents a world that becomes more dangerous as players open lucky blocks, while invasions threaten players during sleepless nights. The Ender Dragon is also substantially stronger than in an unmodified game.

It is categorized as a modpack, mini game, combat/PvP, multiplayer and hardcore experience. The project page listed 2,206,472 downloads when checked in 2026; that counter changes over time, so it should be treated as a snapshot rather than a permanent popularity figure. See the official project page for the current release and description.

What you need before installing
Version matching is the most important requirement. Use Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge, install release 2.7.2 on the client, and use the matching 2.7.2 server files. A different Minecraft version, loader, pack release or modified file set can prevent the server from starting or disconnect players because their installed mods do not match.
#1 Best Overall
- DELUXE COLLECTION — Includes Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition, three Bedrock add-ons, three exclusive Character Creator items, and 700 Minecoins.
- CREATE YOUR WORLD — Build whatever you imagine in an infinite world that’s unique in every playthrough.
- EXPLORE AND CRAFT — Discover biomes, resources, and mobs, then craft your way through a sandbox world filled with surprises.
- SURVIVE THE ADVENTURE — Face mysterious foes, travel across exciting landscapes, and venture into perilous dimensions.
- PLAY TOGETHER — Play cross-platform with friends in Bedrock Edition on console, mobile, and PC, or join community servers in Java Edition on PC, Mac, and Linux. Online console multiplayer requires a platform-specific subscription (sold separately).
- A launcher that can install or import CurseForge Forge modpacks.
- A Minecraft account that can run Java Edition 1.20.1.
- The official 2.7.2 client archive and, if hosting, the matching server-files archive.
- Enough disk space for the pack, the generated world and backups. The published 58.6 MB figure applies only to the listed client archive, not to the eventual world or server directory.
- For multiplayer, a host machine or provider that can accept incoming connections and keep the server running.
No authoritative RAM or maximum-player benchmark is published in the project information used for this guide. Do not treat a generic memory recommendation as an official requirement; monitor actual memory use after creating your world and adjust resources when the server reports out-of-memory errors or severe lag.
Install the client pack
- Open the Lucky World Invasion files index.
- Locate release 2.7.2 and confirm that its metadata identifies Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge.
- Use a launcher that supports CurseForge packs, then import or install the client pack. Let the launcher create a separate profile rather than adding the mods to an unrelated instance.
- Start the profile once. This allows the launcher and Forge to create the instance directories and exposes any missing-file or loader error before you try multiplayer.
- Close the game and check that the selected profile still says Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge and Lucky World Invasion 2.7.2. Do not update individual mods unless the pack author publishes an updated release that includes those changes.
The client installation is distinct from the server installation. The client archive contains what a player needs to launch the game; the server-files ZIP is the artifact intended to create a dedicated server. Do not assume that copying a client profile directory is equivalent to installing the server package.
Start a single-player world and select a race map
The pack includes pre-built skyblock race maps. You do not need to find and download a map manually when using the world-creation option supplied by the pack.
- From the main menu, choose Create World.
- Set World Type to Skyblock.
- Choose Customize.
- Use Select Race Map to pick one of the available race layouts.
- Create the world and confirm that the selected map loads before inviting other players.
Creating a test world first is useful for checking that the profile loaded correctly, that the map selector is available and that your launcher has not omitted a required configuration file.

How the gameplay systems work
Invasions and the grace period
Invasions are designed to escalate rather than appear at full intensity immediately. The project description documents a 21-day grace period before the invasion pressure begins in the described configuration. Treat 21 days as a release-specific setting, not a guarantee for every future version or a promise that no hostile event can occur during that period.
Because the mechanic is tied to the pack’s configuration and scripts, changing configuration files or KubeJS scripts can alter timing and behavior. Keep an untouched copy of the original server files before making changes so that you can restore the intended setup.

Lucky blocks
The pack expands lucky-block gameplay with named varieties including Pink, Summer, Fire, Among Us, Desert, Elemental, Water, Frost Element, Morbius, Wind Element, Heat Element and Energy Element blocks. It also lists custom Lucky World Invasion and Tacz blocks. Opening blocks is therefore a progression decision: the reward potential is part of the appeal, but the pack explicitly ties increasing danger to block opening.
Combat and hostile mobs
Tacz firearms, adaptive or “smart” AI mobs and rebalanced weapon progression are listed features. The result is not a standard vanilla combat curve: equipment choices and enemy behavior are intended to change as the world becomes more difficult. In a multiplayer group, agree in advance whether the server is cooperative, competitive or mixed, because the pack is tagged for both multiplayer and PvP.

The Ender Dragon
The Ender Dragon is significantly buffed compared with vanilla Minecraft. Plan the final fight as a separate progression milestone rather than assuming that ordinary enchantments and a conventional stock of supplies will be sufficient.
Shaders and invasion visuals
Shaders can run with the pack, but the project states that invasion sky effects are disabled when shaders are enabled. If seeing the invasion sky and its intended atmospheric effects matters to you, play without shaders. If visual customization is more important, enable shaders and accept that those invasion-specific sky effects will not be shown.
Set up a self-hosted server
Self-hosting gives you ownership of the server files and configuration, but it also makes you responsible for network access, backups, updates, troubleshooting and keeping the host machine online. The evidence available for this pack confirms the server-files archive and the version pairing, but does not publish a complete startup-command sequence. Use the instructions and scripts included in the downloaded server package rather than copying a command from a different Forge pack.
- Download Lucky-World-Invasion-Server-Files-2.7.2.zip from the official files index.
- Extract the archive into a new, dedicated server directory. Do not unpack it over another modpack’s directory.
- Read the included documentation and inspect the supplied launch scripts or configuration files. Run the package exactly as supplied first; only then consider changing memory, ports or other settings.
- Complete any first-run acceptance or configuration prompt displayed by the server software, following the files included with this release.
- Start the server and wait for it to finish generating its world and configuration. Stop it cleanly before editing files or making a backup.
- Configure the host machine’s firewall and router so that the listening port is reachable by the intended players. If your internet provider uses carrier-grade NAT, inbound connections may require a different network arrangement or a managed host.
- Give players the server address and require every player to install the same Lucky World Invasion 2.7.2 client profile.
Self-hosting checklist
- Keep the server directory separate from client instances and unrelated worlds.
- Back up the world, configuration files, scripts and the mod list before changing the pack.
- Record which files you changed. KubeJS and other configuration edits can affect invasion timing, recipes and multiplayer behavior.
- Test a fresh world before opening the server to a larger group.
- Schedule manual or automated backups around updates and before major exploration or boss attempts.
Install it through managed hosting
A managed host handles much of the operating-system and network administration through a control panel. The trade-off is less direct control over the underlying machine and a recurring hosting charge. One documented provider workflow is available from VeryGames’ Lucky World Invasion page.

- Skins! We have biome settlers, city folk, town folk, and more!
- The Nether and all its inhabitants. Fight Ghasts and make friends with Pigmen
- Cross platform play for up to five players between Pocket Edition and Windows 10
- Revamped touch controls, controller support, and a controller mapping screen
- Enhanced Weather effects! Accumulating snow and more
- Open the provider’s control panel.
- Create a new installation.
- Select Lucky World Invasion from the modpack list.
- Choose the required version. The provider lists release 2.7.2 as Minecraft 1.20.1-47.4.4.
- Create the server and wait for the panel to finish installing the pack.
- Install Lucky World Invasion 2.7.2 on each player’s computer and connect only after the server reports that it is ready.
Updating through the documented panel workflow
For the provider’s documented update path, open Addons, choose Lucky World Invasion, select update, and then choose the new version. Back up the world before updating, and make sure every client moves to the same release. A server update without corresponding client updates commonly produces missing-mod or incompatible-version errors.
Self-hosting versus managed hosting
| Decision factor | Self-hosted server | Managed hosting |
|---|---|---|
| Files and configuration | Direct ownership and access to the server directory, scripts and configuration. | Access is mediated by the provider’s panel and policies; file access depends on the service. |
| Maintenance | You handle the operating system, Java/Forge environment, backups, firewall, router and recovery. | The provider handles much of the machine and panel maintenance; you still manage worlds, players and pack settings. |
| Updates | Download the matching server archive, back up, replace or merge files carefully and test. | Use the panel’s Lucky World Invasion update workflow when the selected version is available. |
| Networking | You must provide a reachable address and configure firewall and router rules. | The provider supplies the server endpoint and network infrastructure. |
| Cost model | No provider subscription, but you pay in hardware, electricity, bandwidth and administration time. | Recurring provider fees in exchange for convenience and managed infrastructure; the cited pack page does not establish a universal price. |
| Best fit | Owners who need file-level control, custom scripts or a machine they already operate. | Groups that prefer panel installation, simpler updates and less network administration. |
Neither option has an officially published RAM or player-count benchmark for this pack. Choose capacity based on observed load, world size, simulation distance, number of players and the amount of concurrent combat or invasion activity rather than on an unsupported fixed number.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Keep clients and servers compatible
When a player cannot connect, check the version tuple before changing settings: Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge, Lucky World Invasion 2.7.2 and the same server-side configuration. A player using another pack release may have a different mod list, scripts or configuration even if the Minecraft version appears correct.
Common symptoms and causes
- Forge or loader error: the launcher profile is using the wrong Minecraft or Forge version. Recreate or edit the profile so it targets 1.20.1 and the pack’s Forge build.
- Missing-mod or mismatched-mod error: the client and server are on different pack releases, or one side has had files removed or added manually. Restore the official 2.7.2 files on both sides.
- Server starts but the expected race-map selector is absent: the client may not have loaded the pack correctly, or the required configuration files were changed. Test a clean profile and a new world.
- Invasion sky effects are missing: shaders are enabled. Disable shaders to restore the documented invasion sky effects.
- Players cannot reach a self-hosted server: verify the server is running, the host firewall allows the listening port, the router forwards it correctly and the address given to players is the externally reachable one.
- Lag or crashes under load: inspect the server log, reduce simultaneous load where possible, remove untested customizations and increase available resources only after identifying the limiting component.
Updating, backups and customization
Make a full backup before every update. Include the world directory, server configuration, KubeJS scripts, permissions, player data and any provider-specific settings. Keep the backup outside the live server directory so an update or accidental deletion cannot remove both copies.
Best Value
- Play and share with friends on console, mobile and Windows 10
- discover community creations in the new in-game store
- access new mini games and game modes through servers
Do not mix files from different releases casually. If you want to customize scripts or balance, duplicate the original configuration, document each edit and test in a disposable world. KubeJS event scripting is configurable, and changes can affect progression, invasion pacing and multiplayer quality-of-life behavior.

Licensing and redistribution
The original CurseForge project displays an All Rights Reserved license. That means you should not assume that repackaging, modifying or redistributing the complete modpack is permitted simply because the files are publicly downloadable.
A separate Lucky World Invasion Reloaded repository states that its official releases may be redistributed unmodified with credit, while modified versions or forks published as separate modpacks require permission. Those terms belong to that repository and must not be applied automatically to the original pack. Third-party mods included in any pack retain their own licenses. Read the relevant project pages before publishing a mirror, modified pack or public redistribution.
The Reloaded licensing information is available in its README.
Should you use Modrinth tools?
General tools such as Modrinth Servers, mrpack-install and itzg/minecraft-server are documented for Modrinth-format packs. The available project information does not establish that Lucky World Invasion has an official Modrinth build. Do not substitute a Modrinth package or assume those tools can install this CurseForge project unless the pack author or tool documentation explicitly provides a compatible artifact.
Recommended installation path
For a first multiplayer session, install the official 2.7.2 client profile, create a test skyblock race world, and confirm the pack’s menus and combat systems work. If you want control over files and scripts, deploy the matching server-files ZIP on a machine you administer. If you want a simpler panel workflow, select Lucky World Invasion 2.7.2 through a managed provider that lists the pack and version. In both cases, keep every client on Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge and the identical pack release, and make a backup before changing or updating anything.
