Moto X, a completed Super Nintendo motocross game developed in 1994 but never commercially released, is now available digitally. Ratalaika Games launched the first modern-platform edition on October 16, 2026, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Xbox Play Anywhere. A separate physical SNES cartridge edition had already brought the lost game to original hardware in 2023.
Why Moto X was considered a lost SNES game
British studio Software Creations developed Moto X in 1994 for Trimark Interactive, a subdivision of Trimark Pictures. Contemporary accounts say Trimark abandoned conventional console publishing while shifting its attention toward interactive movies. Moto X was therefore completed but never received the planned retail release, leaving it as an unreleased SNES title for decades.
The 2026 edition is described by its publisher and platform stores as the first digital release. That distinction matters: the game was not newly developed for modern hardware, but preserved and reissued from its original SNES project.
The 2023 physical SNES cartridge
Piko Interactive revived Moto X for original Super Nintendo hardware in 2023. Its package contains the cartridge, a cardboard box, and a color manual, with NTSC and PAL region choices listed. The displayed price was €42.99 when the product page was retrieved; price, stock, and regional availability can change.

How Moto X plays
Moto X is an arcade-style motocross racer in the tradition of Excitebike, but its publisher describes it as “more extreme.” Six riders compete in each race, with only one winner. The game offers three motorcycle classes:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- 250cc: the entry-level class.
- 550cc: a faster intermediate class.
- 750cc: the highest listed engine class.
Races use obstacle-filled tracks and power-ups. Each skill level contains five tracks and a bonus level, giving players a structured progression rather than a single repeating course. Three skill levels are available, although the store descriptions do not provide separate names or difficulty rules for each one.
