The Logitech MX Master 4 is no longer just a leak. Logitech officially unveiled the productivity mouse on September 30, 2025, confirming a $119.99 US list price, customizable haptic feedback, and the Actions Ring shortcut overlay. A design filing reported before launch indicated the mouse’s exterior direction, but it could not verify the final electronics, software, price, release date, or packaging.
When did the Logitech MX Master 4 launch?
Logitech announced the MX Master 4 on September 30, 2025. That announcement superseded the earlier leak coverage and is the authoritative source for the mouse’s final feature set. Logitech’s US shop subsequently listed the mouse at $119.99 and showed it in stock.
Regional pricing and availability differ. Logitech’s announcement gives a European price of €129.99. Logitech Japan announced a release on October 30, 2025, at ¥21,890 including tax. Those figures apply to the named regions and should not be treated as a single worldwide price.
What actually leaked before launch?
The June 2025 design filing
Secondary leak reports linked an EUIPO design filing from June 2025 to the next MX Master model. The filing was useful for identifying the likely exterior design direction, such as the shape and visible controls shown in the submitted design material. It was not a product specification sheet.

A design filing or leaked image cannot establish the mouse’s sensor, battery capacity, wireless standard, haptic hardware, software features, retail price, launch date, or box contents. Predictions about those details remained unconfirmed until Logitech published its announcement and support information.

What features does the MX Master 4 have?
Customizable haptic feedback
Logitech describes the MX Master 4 as the first MX mouse with customizable haptics. The tactile feedback is intended to make interactions feel more immediate while allowing users to adjust the experience. The announcement does not claim that haptics replace the normal click mechanism; it presents them as an additional, configurable layer.

Actions Ring shortcut overlay
Actions Ring is a software overlay that provides quick access to favorite tools and shortcuts. Its behavior is configurable through Logi Options+, so the useful outcome depends on how you map the commands to your applications and workflow. Logitech general manager Tolya Polyanker described the combination as delivering “next level immersion and speed” through tactile feedback and instant access to tools.

The official announcement retains Logitech’s MagSpeed scrolling system and supports pairing with multiple devices. That makes the MX Master 4 suited to a desk where one mouse moves between computers rather than remaining attached to a single machine. Logitech also highlights stronger connectivity, although the announcement does not provide a separate throughput or latency measurement.

Tracking and charging
The sensor tracks at resolutions from 200 to 8,000 DPI, and Logitech’s product listing says it can track on glass. USB-C charging supports quick top-ups. Logitech rates the rechargeable battery for up to 70 days, but “up to” is a maximum claim that varies with use, connection mode and haptic settings rather than a guaranteed runtime for every owner.

How to interpret the MX Master 4 against an older productivity mouse
The meaningful comparison is not the leak image but the confirmed capabilities. When deciding whether the MX Master 4 is a worthwhile upgrade from an earlier productivity mouse, check these points:
Rank #4
- Logitech MX Master 3S Bluetooth Edition is a Bluetooth only mouse, and does not come with any USB receiver / adapter or charging cable
- 8K DPI Any-surface tracking: Use MX Master 3S cordless computer mouse to work on any surface - even glass (1) - with an 8000 DPI sensor with customizable sensitivity
- Quiet Clicks: MX Master 3S Bluetooth mouse with Quiet Clicks - offering the same satisfying feel but with 90% less click noise (2)
- Magspeed scrolling: A computer mouse with remarkable speed, precision, and near silence - MagSpeed scrolling is 90% faster (3), 87% more precise (4), and ultra quiet.
- Ergonomic design: Work comfortably with a precision mouse featuring a silhouette crafted for a more natural wrist posture and optimally placed thumb controls
- Haptics and shortcuts: The MX Master 4 adds customizable haptic feedback and Actions Ring software, features that a model without those systems cannot provide.
- Tracking: Its maximum resolution is 8,000 DPI, with glass tracking highlighted by Logitech.
- Endurance: The 650 mAh battery is rated for up to 70 days and charges through USB-C.
- Ergonomics: At 150 g, it is a substantial mouse; users who prefer an ultralight design should account for that before buying.
- Workflow: Multi-device pairing is relevant if you regularly switch between computers.
- Price: The US list price is $119.99, while European and Japanese pricing is set separately by Logitech.
These are specification and workflow comparisons, not a claim that every owner of an earlier MX mouse will experience the same improvement. The strongest reason to choose the MX Master 4 is the combination of programmable haptics and shortcut access; the sensor, battery and multi-device features support that productivity focus.
What the leak got right—and what it could not predict
The pre-launch design material was directionally useful because it pointed to a new MX Master body before Logitech’s announcement. It was not sufficient to confirm the product’s identity as a finished retail device. The official launch filled in the important buyer questions: the September 30, 2025 announcement date, regional pricing, model number, sensor range, battery rating, wireless range and software features.

That distinction matters for future leak coverage. Exterior filings can show what a company may build, but only the manufacturer’s final announcement and support documentation establish what is actually being sold.
