The Logitech MX Master 3S is a 141 g, right-handed wireless productivity mouse best suited to people who want customizable controls, quieter clicks, fast vertical and horizontal scrolling, and the ability to switch between computers. Its main trade-offs are its weight, wireless-only design and package contents that vary by edition. It is not a natural fit for left-handed users or buyers seeking a gaming-first mouse.
What the MX Master 3S is designed to do
Logitech positions the MX Master 3S as a wireless productivity mouse. Its feature set combines a Darkfield high-precision sensor, a MagSpeed scroll wheel, a thumb wheel, a gesture button and seven customizable buttons. It supports Logi Bolt and Bluetooth Low Energy connections, with three Easy-Switch channels listed in Logitech’s 2022 business datasheet.
That combination is aimed at navigating documents, spreadsheets and other work across one or more computers—not at minimizing weight or maximizing competitive gaming performance. The main advantages
Quieter clicks, but not silent
Logitech says the left and right clicks have 90% less sound power than the MX Master 3, measured at one metre. That is a manufacturer comparison under a stated measurement condition, not a claim that the clicks make no sound. High-resolution tracking and a glass-surface claim
Logitech Support lists a selectable range of 200–8,000 DPI and a Darkfield high-precision sensor. Logitech also says the mouse tracks on glass at least 4 mm thick. Scrolling suited to long and wide work
The MagSpeed electromagnetic scroll wheel is marketed for rapid scrolling, with Logitech claiming up to 1,000 lines per second. Logitech Support also lists SmartShift scrolling and a thumb wheel. The main wheel is useful for moving through long documents; the thumb wheel can help navigate horizontally across wide spreadsheets or timelines. Customizable controls and device switching
Logitech lists seven customizable buttons, including back/forward and app-switch controls, as well as wheel mode-shift controls and a gesture button. Quick charging and a stated battery rating
Logitech Support says one minute of quick charging provides three hours of use. Its page cautions that battery life varies with the user and computing conditions. Logitech’s 2022 business datasheet rates the mouse for up to 70 days on a full charge; treat that as a manufacturer rating, not a guaranteed duration for every setup or pattern of use. The disadvantages and checks before buying
It is heavy and right-handed
Logitech Support lists a weight of 141 g, and Logitech’s business datasheet describes the design as right-handed. Consider both points against your own hand, grip and preferred mouse weight; the specifications alone cannot establish that it will feel comfortable to you. Wireless only, with USB-C used for charging
Logitech Support identifies the MX Master 3S as wireless. The specifications establish USB-C charging but do not establish a wired-use mode, so do not buy it expecting to use it as a USB mouse while plugged in. Logitech Support specifications

Box contents depend on the edition
Logitech Support lists a Logi Bolt USB receiver and USB-A-to-USB-C charging cable in the standard edition’s box. For the Bluetooth Edition, it lists the mouse and user documentation. Check the exact SKU and its box contents if you need a receiver or cable included. Logitech Support specifications
Not a gaming-first choice
PC Gamer’s review of the successor describes the 3S as a productivity mouse that can be used for some gaming, but not as a proper fast-paced gaming mouse. That is the publication’s comparative reviewer assessment, not a dedicated MX Master 3S test in the available evidence. Is the MX Master 3S worth it for you?
It makes the most sense if you will use the controls and scrolling often: for example, switching among computers, customizing buttons for work applications, navigating long documents, or scrolling sideways through wide layouts. Its quieter-click claim may also matter if mouse noise is a concern.
- Consider it if you want a right-handed productivity mouse with a thumb wheel, customizable controls and Logi Bolt or Bluetooth connectivity.
- Look elsewhere if you need a light mouse, a left-handed shape, a wired-use mode or a device designed primarily for fast-paced gaming.
- Check the listing carefully if the receiver or charging cable must be in the box, since package contents differ by edition.
Price and model details to verify
Logitech’s US product page showed $79.99, reduced from $99.99, when accessed on October 7, 2026; the page said the flash sale ended that day at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
