Yes. For personal, non-commercial use, Apple’s published license allows you to install and run one copy of Logic Pro on each Apple-branded Mac you own or control. To install it on another Mac, sign in to the Mac App Store with the Apple Account used for the purchase. That permission covers the app—not automatic access to, or synchronization of, your Logic projects.
Can you use Logic Pro on two Macs without buying it twice?
Apple’s current Logic Pro for Mac support page reproduces license terms permitting personal, non-commercial use of one copy on each Apple-branded Mac you own or control. The license describes this as a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license. Apple’s Pro Apps installation guidance says to use the Apple Account that purchased the app when installing it on another Mac.
Apple also identifies Family Sharing as a way to install Pro Apps on other Macs. Check the applicable Apple Account and Family Sharing terms for your situation rather than assuming that sharing access changes the underlying license.
How to install Logic Pro on a second Mac
- Check that the second Mac meets Logic Pro’s current requirements before downloading or updating.
- Open the Mac App Store on that Mac and sign in with the Apple Account used to purchase Logic Pro.
- Find Logic Pro in the App Store and download or install it. Apple also notes Family Sharing as an installation path for Pro Apps.
- After installation, open Logic Pro and check that any audio interface, plug-ins, and other tools you use are available and compatible on that Mac.
Apple currently offers Logic Pro for Mac as a one-time App Store purchase and through Apple Creator Studio. Apple says the features are the same in the subscription and one-time-purchase versions, but the cited license information does not establish subscription access after cancellation. Review the current subscription terms before relying on continued access.

Organization and education licenses
Apple’s reproduced license excerpt describes separate arrangements for commercial enterprises and educational institutions: one individual may use a copy on each Mac the organization owns or controls, or multiple individuals may use a copy on one shared Mac the organization owns or controls. Apple also mentions volume or maintenance licensing for organizations. Confirm the terms that apply to the organization’s purchase, particularly if it was made under one of those programs.
Installing Logic does not sync projects between Macs
The right to install the app on another computer is separate from moving song files. Apple’s current product page discusses moving projects between Mac and iPad, but the reviewed Apple pages do not establish an automatic Mac-to-Mac project-sync method. Installing Logic on a second Mac does not, by itself, make projects from the first Mac appear there.

To work on a project on both computers, choose a file-transfer or storage workflow and make sure the receiving Mac has the project’s referenced audio and other media, as well as any plug-ins or tools the session needs. Keep a separate, recoverable backup; a working copy on another device or storage location is not a substitute for a backup.

A portable external SSD is one optional way to carry or back up large project files. Apple’s cited pages do not prescribe an SSD as a Mac-to-Mac transfer method, so treat it as a practical option rather than a Logic requirement or an Apple-endorsed synchronization solution.

Check compatibility and storage on both Macs
Apple’s current Logic Pro product page says the Mac version requires an Apple silicon Mac running macOS 15.6 or later. A separate Apple technical-specifications page lists macOS Sonoma 14.4 or later, so Apple’s published pages conflict. Use the newer product-page requirement as the purchase check and verify Apple’s live compatibility information before buying or updating.

These figures are Apple’s published available-storage requirements; its specifications do not say whether the full Sound Library must be installed separately on each Mac or describe a shared-library setup. Check available space on each system for the installation you plan to use.

Logic Pro works with audio interfaces compatible with the installed macOS version. If an interface needs a driver, Apple advises checking with its manufacturer for an up-to-date driver. That is a recording-hardware consideration, not a prerequisite for installing Logic on two Macs.

Which setup makes sense?
- Personal use on two Macs you own or control: Apple’s license excerpt allows one copy on each for personal, non-commercial use; install on the second Mac through the Apple Account used to purchase Logic Pro.
- Subscription access: Apple offers Logic Pro through Apple Creator Studio as well as as a one-time purchase. Check the current subscription terms for what happens to access after cancellation.
- Shared or institutional computers: Check the organization’s applicable license arrangement, including any volume or maintenance terms, instead of assuming the personal-use terms apply.
- Moving a project between Macs: Plan project-file transfer separately from app installation, including associated media, needed plug-ins, and a recoverable backup.
