Yes—selected LinkedIn Premium Business subscribers in the United States can now charge for advice directly from their profiles. LinkedIn’s new Advice Sessions feature combines session setup, scheduling, Stripe payment, calendar invitations and LinkedIn video in one workflow. Hosts choose the format, recurring availability and price (up to $500), while clients book and pay without needing a Premium subscription. The rollout is invitation-only, so it is not yet a general monetization feature for every LinkedIn member.

What LinkedIn announced

In its October 15, 2026 announcement, LinkedIn presented Advice Sessions alongside a creator dashboard and tests of In-Stream Ads. The company says the goal is to help members turn professional expertise, audiences and relationships into opportunities and income. Its description of Advice Sessions is straightforward: “Share your expertise and offer 1:1 consultations directly from your LinkedIn profile. You can manage bookings, secure payments, and host video consultations all in one place.”

LinkedIn says more than 80% of its creators produce content while holding another role. The same announcement reports 70% growth in the number of founders on LinkedIn and a 26% increase since 2019 in the share of members reporting more than one ongoing position. Those are LinkedIn-reported figures; the announcement does not provide the underlying methodology, so they should not be treated as an independent labor-market study.

Who can host and who can book

Hosts

LinkedIn Help says hosting is currently limited to invited Premium Business subscribers in the United States. The May 12, 2026 small-business announcement described the initial rollout in the same market. LinkedIn may expand eligibility, but there is no published promise of a global launch or open access for all Premium members.

Clients

A client does not need Premium to book. The client must have a verified LinkedIn profile and be located in the United States. A visitor who cannot meet those conditions will not be able to complete a booking, even if a host’s profile is visible.

How Advice Sessions work

  1. Create the offer: An eligible host adds a paid advisory session from the profile and defines its meeting duration and price. The maximum price documented by LinkedIn Help is $500.
  2. Set recurring availability: Hosts publish recurring time windows rather than a single, one-off slot. Bookings can be accepted within a rolling 30-day window.
  3. Connect payments: The host completes Stripe identity verification and bank-account setup. The booking button does not appear until those requirements are complete.
  4. Book and pay: A qualified U.S. client chooses an available time and pays through Stripe Checkout. Apple Pay is supported as a payment option.
  5. Meet: LinkedIn supplies calendar invitations and video consultation hosting within the same flow, reducing the need to coordinate separate scheduling and meeting tools.
  6. Receive the payout: LinkedIn holds the proceeds for 30 days to allow issue resolution. After that period, Stripe pays the session amount minus the applicable platform fee, and Stripe also charges a processing fee on each transaction.

LinkedIn’s cited Help documentation does not state a separate LinkedIn commission. Hosts should therefore calculate net revenue using the Stripe platform and processing fees shown during setup, rather than assuming the listed session price is the eventual payout.

Why this can improve business relationships

Advice Sessions starts at the point where a prospect already discovers an expert: the LinkedIn profile. A visitor can move from reviewing a person’s work to selecting a time, paying and receiving a meeting invitation without exchanging multiple scheduling and payment links. That shorter path can be useful for consultants, coaches, independent specialists and founders whose expertise is already demonstrated through their posts or work history.

The feature also keeps the commercial interaction in the same professional context as the relationship. It does not, however, guarantee demand, bookings or repeat business. LinkedIn has not published an independent study, average conversion rate or earnings benchmark for Advice Sessions.

Advice Sessions versus LinkedIn’s other creator tools

Tool Revenue action Current access What the creator delivers Control and economics
Advice Sessions Charges for a scheduled one-to-one consultation Invited Premium Business subscribers in the U.S.; clients need verified profiles and must be in the U.S. Booking, payment and LinkedIn video consultation Host sets duration, recurring availability and a price up to $500; Stripe platform and processing fees apply; payout is delayed 30 days
Creator Marketplace Enables discovery for brand partnerships Selective access, currently in the U.S. and Canada Public profile and posts, contact email, content analytics and audience insights for participating brands Creators choose which content appears and can opt out; LinkedIn publishes no earnings benchmark in the cited Help information
In-Stream Ads Potential payment when pre-roll ads run with eligible videos Being tested with invited U.S. creators and advertisers Video content placed in an advertising environment Eligibility and earnings depend on the test; no public earnings benchmark is provided

Creator Marketplace is not a paid consultation product. It is a partnership-discovery and disclosure layer. In-Stream Ads are an advertising placement around video, not a way to sell time directly to a client.

Separate relationship features announced with it

LinkedIn also announced profile notes for Premium subscribers, a Network feed test, digital business cards and pinned comments. These may help members maintain relationships around their work, but they are separate features and are not required components of Advice Sessions.

Practical checks before enabling a session

  • Confirm that the profile shows an invitation to Advice Sessions and that the account is a U.S. Premium Business subscription.
  • Complete Stripe identity verification and bank setup before advertising availability; otherwise visitors will not see the booking button.
  • Price with both Stripe fees and the 30-day payout delay in mind.
  • Publish recurring availability you can reliably honor during the 30-day booking window.
  • Explain the consultation’s scope and duration clearly so a paid session is not mistaken for an open-ended coaching engagement.
  • Do not promise access to clients outside the U.S.; verified-profile and location requirements apply to bookers.

What the rollout does—and does not—promise

Advice Sessions gives a selected group of U.S. professionals a native way to sell expert time from a profile that already functions as a business identity. It does not make paid advice available to every LinkedIn member, establish worldwide coverage or guarantee income. Availability, eligibility thresholds and product limits can change as LinkedIn expands the pilot.
