Yes, you can have two LINE accounts, but LINE says each account needs different registration information and a separate device. You cannot use the same phone number, email address, Apple ID, or Google account for both at once: assigning one to a new account removes it from the previous account and may make that account inaccessible. If you only want to use your existing account on a computer or tablet, use LINE’s sub-device feature instead; it gives access to the same account, not a second one.
What LINE allows for two separate accounts
LINE’s guidance says one account is meant to be used per device. To have multiple accounts, register each with different information and use separate devices. That means two accounts are not the same as signing in to one account on several screens.
The registration information LINE identifies includes a phone number, email address, Apple ID, and Google account. Each can be registered to only one LINE account at a time. If you assign information already tied to an account to a new account, LINE removes it from the earlier one. LINE warns that removing all registered sign-in information can leave the earlier account inaccessible, and its friends, groups, and chat history may not be restorable. LINE’s documented guidance for multiple accounts calls for separate devices, so do not rely on one phone to host two accounts. The help pages cited here do not establish whether every app version or regional build offers additional account-switching or app-cloning features. If you need two distinct identities, use separate devices and distinct registration information rather than testing a new signup with credentials already in use.

Can you use the same phone number for two accounts?
No. A phone number cannot be registered to more than one LINE account at a time, and LINE says one mobile number can verify only one account. Registering a number associated with an existing account to another account can make the original account inaccessible. Phone-number registration is described as available in Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand; this is the availability stated in LINE’s help guidance, not a guarantee for every account setup path or future policy. Want one account on another device? Use a sub device
If your goal is to read and reply to the same LINE account from another screen, LINE’s main-device and sub-device arrangement is the relevant option. A sub device connects to your existing account; it does not create another account.

Support and available functions differ by device. To sign in on a sub device, enable Allow login on the main device: Home > Settings > Account. LINE’s device guide lists functions a sub device cannot perform, including managing account information such as the phone number, email, or password; transferring the account; changing Letter Sealing settings; backing up chat history; and purchasing items. Before you transfer an account to another device
An account transfer is different from creating a second account. Before transferring, check the registered account information and back up chat history. Android to Android
LINE describes QR-code transfer for Android-to-Android moves and recommends it because it can avoid entering a password or PIN in later steps. LINE warns that chat history cannot be transferred or restored without a chat backup. The screens and prompts may vary, so use the in-app instructions alongside LINE’s Android-to-Android QR-code transfer guide.

Choose the setup that matches your goal
- You need separate identities: Use separate devices and distinct registration information for each account. Confirm that you can retain access to the information already registered to your current account.
- You need your existing account on a computer or tablet: Sign in as a sub device, after enabling Allow login on the main device. This is one account across supported devices.
- You need to move your existing account: Prepare the account information and chat backup before transferring; do not register an in-use identifier to a new account as a test.
