The Liebherr CNef 4315 is a freestanding, bottom-freezer fridge-freezer with NoFrost, flexible VarioSpace freezer storage and a humidity-adjustable BioCool produce box. Its core features are documented by Liebherr, but the available public review listing does not show enough test results to support a performance verdict. CHOICE and Consumer NZ both identify it as discontinued, so availability and support depend on your market.
Is the Liebherr CNef 4315 any good?
It has a useful feature set on paper: NoFrost freezing, three removable freezer drawers, forced-air PowerCooling and an activated-charcoal FreshAir filter. Those features may suit households that want to avoid manual freezer defrosting and need flexible space for larger frozen items.
That is a specification-based assessment, not a conclusion from independent performance testing. CHOICE lists a 2020 test year, but its rating and detailed results—including temperature performance and noise—are restricted to members. The accessible Consumer NZ model page also does not expose a model-specific score. No public evidence here establishes how well this refrigerator holds temperature or how noisy it is in use.

| Specification | What the sources state |
|---|---|
| Freezer capacity | 120 L in both the Liebherr product sheet and CHOICE listing. |
| Total and refrigerator capacity | CHOICE lists 350 L total: 230 L refrigerator and 120 L freezer. Treat these as figures for CHOICE’s Australian listing, not as confirmed capacities for every regional variant. |
| Body dimensions | 185 × 60 × 66.5 cm (H × W × D), from Liebherr’s 2022 product sheet. |
| Recommended installation space | 190 × 70 × 72 cm (H × W × D), according to CHOICE’s model listing. |
| Energy use | Liebherr’s 2022 product sheet states 220 kWh per 365 days, or 0.602 kWh per 24 hours. CHOICE lists claimed use of 202 kWh/year. The sources do not explain the difference. |
| Controls and alerts | 2.4-inch monochrome TFT touch controls behind the door; visual and acoustic door and malfunction alarms. |
| Climate and electrical ratings | SN–T (+10°C to +43°C); 50/60 Hz, 220–240 V~, 1.4 A, 190 W. Confirm these details against the exact regional unit before installation. |
How do the cooling and storage features work?
NoFrost and VarioSpace
Liebherr lists NoFrost freezing and three freezer drawers. The drawers and toughened-glass shelves can be removed to create room for larger frozen items, which is the practical benefit of the VarioSpace layout. The product sheet also gives a 24-hour temperature-rise time and lists an ice cube tray.
BioCool produce box
The single BioCool box sits on roller tracks, and its humidity level can be regulated. Liebherr says it is intended to help keep fruit and vegetables fresher for longer; this is the manufacturer’s product description, not a result from an independent freshness test.

PowerCooling and FreshAir filter
Forced-air PowerCooling circulates cooled air, while the FreshAir system uses an activated-charcoal filter. If you need a replacement filter, the precise part number and compatibility are not established by the model sheet. Check the rating plate and confirm the correct part with an authorized parts source before buying.

Optional connectivity
A SmartDeviceBox is an optional accessory, not standard equipment. The product sheet does not establish regional compatibility or current stock, so confirm both for your specific appliance before purchasing one.
What space does installation require?
The appliance body measures 185 × 60 × 66.5 cm (H × W × D) according to Liebherr’s 2022 sheet. That is not the same as the installation envelope: CHOICE recommends 190 × 70 × 72 cm. Liebherr says the supplied wall spacers add about 1.5 cm to depth and are needed to achieve the indicated energy consumption. Allow for the spacers and the clearance guidance rather than sizing a gap from the body dimensions alone.
How much energy does it use?
The figures differ by source: Liebherr’s product sheet dated 2022 gives 220 kWh per 365 days (0.602 kWh per 24 hours), while CHOICE’s Australian listing reports claimed use of 202 kWh/year. Neither source explains the difference. Check the energy label on the exact unit and use the figure applicable to its market; do not assume either number applies to every regional version.

Is the CNef 4315 discontinued?
CHOICE labels its Australian listing “Discontinued model,” and Consumer NZ also marks the model discontinued. These listings do not prove that no new units remain in stock anywhere; availability varies by region. CHOICE’s page shows a price of A$4,118, but that is a figure displayed on its listing, not a verified current offer.
Before buying remaining stock or a used unit, confirm the model suffix, warranty coverage, local service support and parts availability with the seller or manufacturer. For a used appliance, also check its condition and the rating plate rather than relying on generic model specifications.
