For a reliable deal report, check that the record identifies the seller, quantity, execution price, the price used to calculate the discount, and the transaction date and time. A reported plan to sell is not the same as a completed block transaction.

Who is the likely seller?
The seller in the alleged 5.6%-discount transaction is not verified. The name associated with a separate earlier report is Platinum Jasmine, but that report described a possible sale, not confirmation of the transaction in today’s headline.
What the September 18 report said
The Economic Times reported on September 18, 2026 that Platinum Jasmine was reportedly likely to sell up to 3 crore shares, with an estimated value of ₹2,047.40 crore, at ₹682.45 per share. It described ₹682.45 as a discount of up to 3.42% to the then latest traded BSE price of ₹706.60.

The same report said Platinum Jasmine held 16,98,15,438 shares, or 9.77%, as of June 30, 2026, attributing that holding to an exchange filing. These were reported proposed-sale terms; they do not prove that the sale was completed, and they do not identify the seller in the unverified 5.6% claim.

The block.deal data explorer’s indexed profile shows a raw NSE close of ₹677.65 on October 9, 2026. That is a date-bounded historical figure, not a live price, and it does not verify a deal on October 12 or establish a 5.6% discount. A discount calculation depends on the transaction price and the specific reference price and timestamp used; neither is established for the alleged transaction.

What is known about the Q2 FY27 preview?
