Choose the Lenovo Yoga Tab Gen 2 if you want a lighter tablet, a sharper 3:2 high-refresh display, Wi-Fi 7, or direct DisplayPort output. Choose the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ if you want a larger AMOLED screen, an S Pen in the box, IP68 protection, or a 5G configuration. Neither is the universal winner: the better choice depends on whether portability and pixel density or screen size, cellular connectivity, and included accessories matter more.
The specifications below compare Lenovo’s published Yoga Tab Gen 2 information with Samsung’s detailed India 5G Galaxy Tab S10+ listing. Samsung configurations in other markets can differ, and Lenovo says accessory bundles vary by country.

These are manufacturer specifications and estimates, not the results of a controlled head-to-head test. The battery figures use different test descriptions, and no comparable independent performance benchmark is established here.
Display: sharper and faster Lenovo, larger AMOLED Samsung
Lenovo’s 3:2 IPS/LTPS panel
The Yoga Tab Gen 2 uses an unusually tall 3:2 aspect ratio. That shape is useful for documents, web pages, comics, sheet music and split-screen work because it gives you more vertical space than a typical widescreen tablet. It also makes the tablet feel closer to a small writing pad when used with a pen.
#1 Best Overall
- BUILT TO THINK FORWARD – The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 is built for smart, focused study with AI-powered tools that help you organize, visualize, and absorb more. It has a vivid 13” 3.5K display and is optimized for powerful performance everywhere you go.
- SMARTER READER, SMARTER NOTES – Read papers, mark notes in the margins, and organize PDFs with Smart Capture to stay ready for meetings and classes alike.
- SHARPER VIEWS AND BRIGHTER FOCUS – The 13” 3.5K LTPS display offers stunning detail and 800 nits brightness for impeccable viewing outside and in. The Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 is certified with TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light and Flicker Free technology to minimize eye fatigue and maximize visual splendor.
- NOTHING SLIPS, EVERYTHING STICKS – Lenovo AI Live Transcript takes continuous notes for you during meetings and class so you can stay present and study them later. They’re saved automatically to Notepad where you can create summaries and identify key takeaways to create structured notes that actually stick.
- LEARN VISUALLY – Long press on an image to activate Smart Capture and pull key visuals straight into Lenovo Notepad. Clean up hand-drawn ideas with Sketch to Image, or sharpen blurry details when clarity matters. From quick capture to classroom- ready notes, learning becomes easier to understand and simpler to share.
Its 3840 × 2560 resolution is substantially more detailed than the Samsung panel’s resolution. Fine text, technical diagrams and high-resolution photographs can look exceptionally crisp, provided the application and source content can take advantage of the pixels. The 144 Hz refresh rate can make scrolling and pen movement appear smoother than on a conventional 60 Hz panel. The panel covers a stated 98% of DCI-P3 and supports Dolby Vision, useful for wide-gamut creative work and compatible video.
Lenovo quotes 600 nits typical brightness and 1,100 nits peak brightness. Typical and peak figures are not interchangeable: peak brightness may be available only in limited portions of the screen or with specific content. Outdoor readability still depends on reflections, viewing angle and the surrounding light.
Samsung’s larger Dynamic AMOLED 2X display
The Galaxy Tab S10+ gives you more physical screen area. That is valuable for watching video, reading two pages side by side, drawing with room for a palm rest, or keeping a document and reference window visible together. Its 12.4-inch panel is easier to share across a table, but the larger body also takes more space in a bag.
Dynamic AMOLED 2X provides the characteristics associated with an emissive OLED display, including very deep blacks and strong contrast. Samsung also lists an anti-reflection coating, a practical advantage under overhead lighting or near windows. The cited specification lists 650 nits peak brightness. As with Lenovo’s peak figure, that is not a promise that the entire screen remains at that level in every application.
Which display suits your work?
- Choose Lenovo for text-heavy work, handwriting in portrait orientation, high-refresh scrolling and maximum detail in a smaller body.
- Choose Samsung for movies, games designed for a wide canvas, large illustrations and situations where OLED contrast and glare control are more important than pixel count.
- Check app behavior before buying. Some Android applications are optimized for phone-like or widescreen layouts and may leave unused space on either tablet. A 3:2 panel changes how split-screen windows and video letterboxing look; it is not automatically better or worse.
Portability and ergonomics
Lenovo’s published weight is about 480 g, while the cited Galaxy Tab S10+ model is 576 g. That difference is noticeable when holding a tablet one-handed, writing while standing, or carrying it alongside a laptop. Lenovo also has the smaller published footprint. The Samsung model is thinner on its listed specification and uses the extra size to provide the larger display.
For desk use, the Samsung’s additional screen area can outweigh its extra mass. For commuting, travel, reading in bed or frequent handheld note-taking, Lenovo’s lower weight reduces fatigue. A keyboard cover, pen and protective case add weight to either system, so compare the complete kit rather than the tablet alone.
Performance, memory and storage
What the listed hardware tells you
Lenovo specifies MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500s and offers 8 GB or 12 GB of soldered LPDDR5X memory. The Samsung listing identifies an octa-core processor and 12 GB of memory in the 256 GB 5G configuration, with CPU speeds of 3.4, 2.8 and 2.0 GHz.

- SMOOTH MOTION, MORE ROOM – Games and videos load buttery-smooth thanks to the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor and zippy 120Hz refresh rate.
- VISUALS BUILT TO PULL YOU IN – Watch your favorite scenes come to life with sharper detail and brighter contrast. The large 12.1” 2.5K display glitters with 800nits brightness, HDR10 support, and Dolby Vision that enhances media with more highlights and depth.
- FLEXES TO FIT YOUR MOMENT – The Tab Plus Gen 2 has a 360ᵒ spin kickstand that allows you to tilt and rotate freely so you can comfortably watch or scroll.

Those labels and clock speeds do not establish a reliable performance winner. Real results depend on the exact chip implementation, thermal limits, software scheduling, application version and sustained workload. There is no controlled independent benchmark here that would justify ranking one tablet for gaming, video editing or emulation.
Storage choices
Lenovo’s 128 GB option uses UFS 3.1, while its 256 GB option uses UFS 4.0. The cited Samsung model has 256 GB built in. Both support microSD cards, but their stated limits differ: Lenovo lists up to 2 TB and Samsung lists up to 1.5 TB for the India model.
Neither microSD limit means a card is included. Confirm the exact regional SKU, card format and maximum capacity before purchasing a card. If you keep large games, downloaded video or project files locally, start with 256 GB rather than assuming expandable storage will provide the same speed as internal storage.
How to choose memory and storage
- 8 GB Lenovo: reasonable for reading, streaming, note-taking and ordinary multitasking when the lower-cost configuration is the priority.
- 12 GB model: the safer choice for many browser tabs, split-screen work, large drawing files and a longer ownership period.
- 256 GB internal storage: preferable for offline media, games and creative projects. Use a microSD card for bulk files, not as a substitute for fast internal storage in every workload.
Battery life: do not declare a winner from these figures
Lenovo lists an 11,000 mAh typical battery and estimates 15.12 hours of YouTube streaming plus 12.88 hours of web browsing in its internal tests. Samsung lists a 10,090 mAh typical battery and estimates up to 16 hours of wireless video playback.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThese numbers were produced by different companies under different conditions. Lenovo reports separate streaming and browsing estimates; Samsung reports a wireless-video figure. Screen brightness, network conditions, codec, audio level, background processes and software versions can all change the result. Battery capacity also does not translate directly into runtime because displays and processors consume power differently.
Use the claims as an indication that both are designed for extended use, not as a controlled ranking. If your day is mostly local video, Samsung’s stated test is the more relevant reference; if it is browser-heavy, Lenovo provides a browsing-specific estimate. Neither figure guarantees a particular number of hours on your network or workload.
Connectivity and external displays
Lenovo: newer wireless standard and DisplayPort
The Yoga Tab Gen 2 specification includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. Its USB-C port supports USB 5 Gbps, charging and DisplayPort output. DisplayPort over USB-C gives you a documented path to a compatible monitor, dock or projector, subject to the adapter and display supporting the required mode.

- Combined Processor Core: Octa-core
- Processor Manufacturer: ARM
- Processor Type: Cortex A76
- Processor Speed: 2.40 GHz
- Processor Core: Dual-core (2 Core)
The cited Lenovo configuration has no WWAN modem. You will need Wi-Fi or a phone hotspot when away from a known network. Wi-Fi 7 benefits require a compatible router and environment; the tablet will still connect to older Wi-Fi generations.

Samsung: cellular option in the cited model
The detailed Samsung specification used for this comparison is an India 5G model. It lists support for 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3 and USB 3.2 Gen 1. A 5G tablet can be useful for commuters, field workers and anyone who does not want to tether a phone, but service requires a compatible carrier plan and supported bands.
Do not treat the India 5G configuration as universal for every Galaxy Tab S10+. Samsung sells regional variants, and modem bands, SIM capabilities, storage and included accessories can change. Check the model number and your carrier’s supported bands before ordering.
Pen and keyboard: what is actually included?
Samsung includes the S Pen
Samsung lists an S Pen in the box with the cited Galaxy Tab S10+ model. That lowers the cost and setup friction for handwriting, annotation and drawing. Samsung’s Book Cover Keyboard Slim is a separate purchase, so a laptop-like setup costs more than the tablet’s base price.
Lenovo lists a pen and keyboard path
Lenovo lists the Tab Pen Pro 2 and Yoga Tab Gen 2 Keyboard as compatible accessories. The important qualification is availability: Lenovo says the keyboard varies by country or region. A local listing may include the keyboard, offer it as a promotion, or omit it entirely.

Before comparing totals, open the exact retailer or Lenovo regional listing and verify four things:
- Whether the pen is included or sold separately.
- Whether the keyboard is in the box, bundled for a limited promotion, or unavailable.
- Whether the advertised keyboard layout matches your language and operating habits.
- Whether the case leaves access to the USB-C port and any pen charging or storage feature.
If handwriting is central to your purchase, Samsung’s included S Pen is the simpler starting package. Lenovo can still be the better fit if its high-resolution 3:2 screen and lighter body matter more, but calculate the accessory cost for your country.

Durability and water resistance
Samsung states that the Galaxy Tab S10+ and included S Pen are IP68-rated under IEC 60529 laboratory conditions: up to 1.5 metres of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. Samsung also cautions against beach or pool use and notes that resistance can diminish with wear.
The Lenovo specification used here does not establish an IP rating. Do not assume the Yoga Tab Gen 2 is water-resistant simply because another tablet is. If the tablet will be used in a kitchen, workshop, outdoor job or around children, Samsung’s documented protection is a meaningful differentiator, while still not being permission to submerge the device or expose it to saltwater, chlorine or high-pressure spray.
Software support and ownership horizon
Lenovo’s announced schedule
Lenovo announced the Yoga Tab Gen 2 with Android 17 and said it will receive seven operating-system upgrades through Android 24, plus up to seven years of security updates through 2033. This is a manufacturer support statement; rollout timing and availability can depend on market and model configuration.
Samsung’s cited support date
Samsung’s India product page lists security-update validity through October 31, 2031 for the cited Galaxy Tab S10+ 5G model. That date applies to the referenced India SKU and should not be generalized automatically to every regional variant or future policy change.
For a long ownership period, compare the support statement for the exact model number you are buying. Also consider how quickly your preferred apps adopt newer Android releases: security-update coverage and major-version availability are related but not identical.
Price and availability: verify the listing, not an announcement estimate
Lenovo announced an estimated starting price of €649 including tax and described expected availability in September 2026. That is an announcement estimate, not a verified current street price. Regional taxes, storage, cellular options, promotions and accessories can all change the amount you actually pay.

Which tablet should you buy?
Buy the Lenovo Yoga Tab Gen 2 when these priorities lead
- You want the lighter, smaller tablet for travel, reading or handheld writing.
- You value a 3:2 layout for documents, split-screen work and portrait note-taking.
- You want the highest stated resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate.
- You need Wi-Fi 7 or documented DisplayPort output from USB-C.
- You are comfortable checking local availability for the keyboard and pen.
- You prefer a 128 GB or 256 GB configuration with microSD expansion up to Lenovo’s stated limit.
Buy the Galaxy Tab S10+ when these priorities lead
- You want the larger 12.4-inch AMOLED canvas for video, drawing or side-by-side documents.
- You want an S Pen included rather than budgeting for a separate stylus.
- You need a cellular-capable tablet and the India 5G specification, or your local equivalent, matches your carrier requirements.
- You value Samsung’s documented IP68 protection for the tablet and S Pen.
- You prefer anti-reflection treatment and OLED contrast over the Lenovo’s higher pixel count and faster stated refresh rate.
- You are willing to buy the keyboard separately if you need a laptop-style setup.
Choose based on the complete setup cost
Write down the configuration you actually need: storage, cellular connectivity, pen, keyboard, case and memory-card capacity. Then compare the complete totals for the same country and tax treatment. This prevents an included S Pen, a regional keyboard bundle or a 5G premium from being overlooked.
Pre-purchase checklist
- Confirm the exact model number and country. Samsung’s detailed figures here describe an India 5G model; Lenovo’s accessory availability varies by region.
- Check the box contents. Verify the pen and keyboard separately instead of assuming a product-family accessory is included.
- Match the screen to your main apps. Decide whether a 3:2 high-resolution canvas or a larger AMOLED panel better fits your documents, video and drawing workflow.
- Check network requirements. Confirm Wi-Fi generation, 5G bands, SIM support and carrier compatibility before relying on cellular service.
- Plan storage. Select 256 GB if you keep substantial offline media or creative files, and verify the supported microSD capacity for the exact SKU.
- Check external-display needs. If you intend to use a monitor or projector, confirm that your USB-C cable, adapter and display support the required DisplayPort path.
- Review support dates for your SKU. Manufacturer support statements can vary by market and may be revised over time.
- Compare the final price. Treat Lenovo’s €649 figure as an estimated announcement price and verify current local listings before making a decision.
Bottom line
The Lenovo Yoga Tab Gen 2 is the more compelling choice for a mobile, document-focused user who values low weight, a tall high-resolution 144 Hz display, Wi-Fi 7 and USB-C DisplayPort output. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ is the safer choice for a buyer who wants a larger AMOLED screen, an S Pen included, documented IP68 protection or a 5G tablet configuration. Battery and processor performance cannot be ranked fairly from the available manufacturer figures, so base the purchase on display format, connectivity, accessories and the exact regional SKU.
