Neither Lenovo nor Samsung is the universal winner. The better buy depends on the exact tablet, price in your country, included accessories and how you will use it. A Lenovo Idea Tab Pro is a compelling specification-led choice for a large, fast LCD and expandable storage, while a premium Samsung Galaxy Tab S model is the stronger fit if you want an AMOLED display and Samsung’s connected-device features. Samsung also sells less expensive FE, Lite and A-series tablets, so “Galaxy Tab” does not describe one level of hardware.
Use this guide to compare a specific Lenovo and Samsung model on the factors that change the buying decision: display, performance, software support, pen and keyboard costs, battery claims, storage expansion, connectivity and total price. The specifications below come from current US manufacturer pages; availability, configurations and prices can differ elsewhere.
The short answer: choose by model, not by logo
“Lenovo tablet versus Samsung Galaxy Tab” is a family comparison. Samsung’s US comparison catalog includes the premium Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, S12+, S11 Ultra and S11, along with the LCD-based S10 Lite, A11+, S10+, S10 FE+ and S10 FE. Lenovo’s current US pages identify the Idea Tab Pro, Idea Tab Plus and Tab Plus as distinct products. Their screens, processors, update commitments and accessories are not interchangeable.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFor a paper comparison, start with a similar class and price. The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro is a performance-oriented candidate with a 12.7-inch 3K 144 Hz LCD, Dimensity 8300, 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. A premium Galaxy Tab S model brings an AMOLED panel and an included S Pen on the models shown on Samsung’s comparison page. A Galaxy Tab FE or Lite is a different proposition, with LCD hardware and different specifications. Manufacturer specifications are not the same as an independent head-to-head test; no same-method Lenovo-versus-Samsung benchmark or battery study is established here.

What Lenovo currently offers
These are not three memory tiers of one device. They target different buyers and have different support statements, so compare the exact product number and configuration.
Lenovo Idea Tab Pro
The Idea Tab Pro is Lenovo’s strongest performance-oriented example in the supplied US lineup. Lenovo lists a 12.7-inch LCD with 2944 × 1840 resolution (3K) and a 144 Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor, 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. It has a 10,200 mAh typical battery, a microSD slot and quad JBL speakers. The cited configuration runs Android 14, with upgrades through Android 16 and four years of security patches. See the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro specification page for the configuration currently listed.
Lenovo lists the Tab Pen Plus as included in the cited configuration. The Idea Tab Pro Keyboard Pack is optional, so the tablet’s advertised price should not be treated as a complete laptop-style setup. Verify the SKU and box contents before ordering because bundles can change; Lenovo’s configuration and accessory listing is the relevant check.
Lenovo Idea Tab Plus
The Idea Tab Plus is a step down in display and platform specification but has a newer stated software baseline. Lenovo lists a 12.1-inch 2.5K display, up to 8 GB RAM, 128 GB storage, a 10,200 mAh battery and microSD expansion. The page states Android 15, upgrades through Android 17 and four years of security patches until 2029. Pen and folio-keyboard support depends on configuration or separate purchases. Lenovo specifies Wi-Fi 5 on the cited page; do not assume it has the Idea Tab Pro’s Wi-Fi 6E capability. The current details are on Lenovo’s Idea Tab Plus page.
Lenovo Tab Plus
The Tab Plus is aimed more at media consumption than demanding workloads. Lenovo lists an 11.5-inch 2K display with a 90 Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Helio G99, 8 GB memory, up to 256 GB storage and microSD support. It ships with Android 14 and is listed as upgradeable through Android 16, with security patches through January 2028 on the cited US listing. Lenovo names a compatible pen, sleeve, wireless keyboard and 68 W USB-C charger as separately sold options. Check the Lenovo Tab Plus product page for the exact package.
Lenovo support dates require the exact model
Lenovo’s Android Upgrade Matrix provides model-specific operating-system and security end dates. Use the tablet’s exact model number in the Android Upgrade Matrix rather than relying on a brand-wide promise. A support date for an Idea Tab Pro cannot be transferred to an Idea Tab Plus or Tab Plus.

What Samsung’s Galaxy Tab range includes
Samsung’s current US comparison page spans multiple tiers: Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, S12+, S11 Ultra and S11; S10 Lite; A11+; S10+; S10 FE+; and S10 FE. The page reports model-level display type and size, refresh rate, battery playback estimate, memory and storage options, microSD capacity, IP rating, connectivity, pen compatibility, weight and Android version. It is a US catalog, not proof that every named configuration is sold in every country. Use Samsung’s Galaxy Tab comparison page to check the precise regional SKU.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Premium Galaxy Tab S models
The S models listed by Samsung use AMOLED displays and high refresh rates, and the comparison page marks an S Pen as included on the S and other indicated models. Those advantages apply to the specific models shown, not automatically to every Galaxy Tab. A premium S12 Ultra or S11 Ultra should therefore be compared with a high-end Lenovo candidate on screen technology, size, memory and price—not with the entry-level Tab Plus.
Galaxy Tab FE, Lite and A models
Samsung’s FE, Lite and A products broaden the price range with LCD-based hardware and model-specific feature sets. The comparison page marks S Pen as included on the listed S, FE and Lite models shown, while it says the pen is not compatible with the listed A11+. Check the exact model before assuming a pen will work or be in the box.
Galaxy Tab S10 FE and S10 FE+
Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab S10 FE series on April 2, 2025. The announcement describes a 13.1-inch FE+, a 10.9-inch FE, refresh rates up to 90 Hz, an up-to-800-nit high-brightness mode, IP68 protection and productivity features. US sales were announced for April 10, 2025. Starting prices were $499.99 for the S10 FE and $649.99 for the FE+; those are 2025 launch prices, not current asking prices. Samsung’s announcement also says the FE series has the same IP68 rating as the newest Galaxy Tab S10 series. That is a manufacturer product statement, not an independent durability test. Read the Samsung Newsroom announcement for the dated launch details.
Display: AMOLED versus large, fast LCD
Display technology is one of the clearest differences, but only after you identify the model. Samsung’s premium S tablets use AMOLED panels, which can provide the contrast and black levels buyers seek for films and photos. Samsung’s FE, Lite and A tablets use different, generally LCD-based specifications. Lenovo’s Idea Tab Pro uses a 12.7-inch 3K LCD at 144 Hz; the Idea Tab Plus has a 12.1-inch 2.5K display; and the Tab Plus has an 11.5-inch 2K 90 Hz panel.
A 144 Hz specification can make scrolling and supported games look smoother than a 90 Hz panel, but it does not establish performance in every app. Resolution, brightness, refresh rate and panel type should be compared within the same price class. Samsung’s FE announcement’s 800-nit figure is a high-brightness mode, not a statement that the screen runs at that level in every situation.

- BATTERY FOR LONG-LASTING ENTERTAINMENT: Enjoy long-lasting fun. Finish your favorite series or book with a battery that can last up to 16 hours.¹ Need energy quick? Get a full charge in about two hours with Super Fast Charging.²
- WRITE, DRAW, DO IT ALL: S Pen is mightier than your average writing tool. The responsive design and intuitive integration with intelligent features make drawing, jotting down notes and even doing math easier than ever
- SPACE TO KEEP WHAT MATTERS MOST: More storage means deleting less apps, photos, videos and files. Galaxy Tab S10 Lite comes with up to 256GB³ of storage. And if you need even more, you can add up to 2TB with a microSD card.⁹
- THE POWER OF ENHANCED PERFORMANCE: Galaxy Tab S10 Lite boasts an Exynos 1380 processor that lets you stream, scroll, note, search and even multitask with ease
For a fair shopping comparison, match LCD with LCD or AMOLED with AMOLED where possible, then check diagonal size and resolution. A large 12.7-inch Lenovo screen may be preferable for split-screen documents even if a smaller Samsung AMOLED has stronger contrast. Conversely, a premium Samsung can be the better choice for dark-room video if its price fits your budget.
Performance: published chips are clues, not benchmarks
On paper, the Idea Tab Pro’s Dimensity 8300 and 8 GB RAM place it in a more performance-oriented position than Lenovo’s Helio G99-based Tab Plus. The Idea Tab Plus is listed with up to 8 GB RAM, while the Pro is listed with 8 GB in the cited configuration. Samsung’s comparison page supplies model-specific memory and storage options, but a published processor name alone does not predict sustained performance, thermals or app optimization.
No independent, same-method Lenovo-versus-Samsung benchmark was established for this comparison. Treat the specifications as a way to narrow candidates, not proof that one brand beats every model from the other. For gaming or demanding editing, compare the exact chip, RAM tier, storage speed and cooling information for the two models you can actually buy, and look for return coverage in case real-world behavior does not meet expectations.

Software support and update life
Software support can outweigh a modest performance difference because it determines how long the tablet receives operating-system features and security fixes. Lenovo’s cited pages state different endpoints: the Idea Tab Pro is listed for upgrades through Android 16 with four years of security patches; the Idea Tab Plus is listed for Android 17 with four years of security patches until 2029; and the Tab Plus is listed for Android 16 with security patches through January 2028.
These dates and versions are model-specific and can change by region or SKU. Confirm the exact model in Lenovo’s Android Upgrade Matrix before purchase.
Samsung’s comparison page reports an Android version for each listed tablet, but the page’s catalog data should be checked against the regional product page and current support policy for the exact model. Do not infer that an S12, S11, S10 FE and A11+ share one update schedule simply because they appear in the same comparison tool. Compare written OS and security commitments, not a general reputation for either brand.

Pen, keyboard and accessory costs
Accessories can change the real price by hundreds of dollars and can determine whether a tablet works for handwritten notes or long typing sessions.
- Idea Tab Pro: Lenovo lists the Tab Pen Plus as included in the cited configuration. The Idea Tab Pro Keyboard Pack is optional.
- Idea Tab Plus: pen and folio-keyboard support is configuration dependent or separately sold.
- Tab Plus: Lenovo lists the pen, sleeve, wireless keyboard and 68 W USB-C charger as separate options.
- Samsung Galaxy Tab: Samsung’s comparison page marks an S Pen as included on the listed S, FE and Lite models shown, but says the listed A11+ is not S Pen compatible. Keyboard covers and protective accessories are model-specific.
“Supports a keyboard” does not mean the keyboard is in the box. Before paying, record the exact model number, storage and connectivity version, then open the manufacturer’s configuration section to confirm included items. Check that a keyboard cover’s connector and dimensions match that model; a cover for one Tab S generation is not automatically compatible with another.
Battery, storage and connectivity
Battery figures are not a head-to-head test
Samsung’s US comparison page lists maximum local video-playback estimates: up to 23 hours for Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, 21 hours for S12+, 23 hours for S11 Ultra, 18 hours for S11, 16 hours for S10 Lite, 15 hours for A11+, 16 hours for S10+, 21 hours for S10 FE+ and 20 hours for S10 FE. Samsung says the method uses local 720p playback in the default player, full screen, at 162 nits, earbud volume 7, with Wi-Fi and the mobile network off. It warns that settings, usage and other factors change results. These are vendor estimates, not independent battery-test results.
Lenovo lists a 10,200 mAh typical battery for both the Idea Tab Pro and Idea Tab Plus. The Tab Plus page also lists a 10,200 mAh battery, but battery capacity alone does not translate directly into hours because screen size, brightness, processor and software differ. Do not compare Lenovo’s capacity number with Samsung’s playback hours as if they were measured in the same test.
microSD and wireless versions
The Idea Tab Pro, Idea Tab Plus and Tab Plus pages list microSD expansion. Samsung’s comparison page reports microSD capacity by model, so check the exact row before assuming a card slot exists. Wireless standards also differ: Lenovo specifies Wi-Fi 6E for the cited Idea Tab Pro listing, while the Idea Tab Plus page specifies Wi-Fi 5. Cellular availability, SIM support and Wi-Fi variants are model and region dependent.
Quick wins for a faster PC:

Tablet prices move with storage, cellular radios, promotions and bundles. Compare the current transaction price for the same RAM and storage class in your country, then add the accessories required for your use. A Lenovo configuration that includes a pen may be cheaper than a seemingly similar tablet that requires a separate stylus, while a Samsung bundle with a keyboard cover can reverse that difference.

The $499.99 S10 FE and $649.99 S10 FE+ figures are the US launch prices announced in April 2025. They should not be presented as 2026 retail prices. Use the live product page or an authorized local retailer for today’s price, and verify whether the listing is Wi-Fi or cellular, how much storage it has and what is in the box.
Which tablet is better for each type of buyer?
Choose the Idea Tab Pro when the specification mix is the priority
The Idea Tab Pro is the logical shortlist candidate if you want a large 12.7-inch 3K screen, 144 Hz refresh, Dimensity 8300, microSD expansion and an included Tab Pen Plus in the cited US configuration. Its optional keyboard means you must budget separately for serious typing. Its Android 16 upgrade endpoint should also be compared with the support commitment of the Samsung model at the same price.
Choose an upper-tier Galaxy Tab S when display technology and Samsung integration matter
A specific Galaxy Tab S model is the better fit when you prioritize an AMOLED panel, high refresh rate, included S Pen on the listed models and integration with Samsung phones or other Galaxy devices. Confirm the exact S12 or S11 variant, because Ultra, Plus and standard models differ in size, memory, battery estimate and price.

Choose the Idea Tab Plus when support dates and expandable storage balance the budget
The Idea Tab Plus combines a 12.1-inch 2.5K screen, microSD support and a stated Android 17 endpoint with security patches until 2029 on Lenovo’s cited page. It uses Wi-Fi 5 in that listing and does not universally include a pen or keyboard, so it suits buyers willing to trade some wireless and accessory convenience for the specified software plan.
Choose the Tab Plus for media-focused use
The Tab Plus makes sense for streaming, reading and casual games when an 11.5-inch 2K 90 Hz display and up to 256 GB plus microSD matter more than flagship processing. Its Helio G99 and separately sold accessories make it a different class from the Idea Tab Pro and premium Galaxy Tab S models.
Choose a Galaxy Tab FE when you want Samsung features below the flagship tier
The S10 FE and S10 FE+ offer a middle ground in Samsung’s range: up to 90 Hz, an announced high-brightness mode up to 800 nits, IP68 and an included S Pen on the listed FE models. Compare the current price, storage and keyboard cost with the Lenovo model you are considering rather than using the dated 2025 launch prices.
A practical buying procedure
- Name the two exact products. Write the complete model, screen size, RAM, storage, Wi-Fi or cellular version and country. “Galaxy Tab” and “Lenovo tablet” are not sufficient descriptions.
- Check the current local price. Use the same retailer currency and include delivery, tax where applicable and any promotional expiry.
- Match the display class. Record panel type, diagonal, resolution, refresh rate and stated brightness for both models. Avoid comparing a premium AMOLED tablet with an entry LCD model and calling the brand difference.
- Compare the platform. Record the processor, RAM and storage tier. Treat this as a published-spec comparison, not a benchmark result.
- Verify software promises. Look up the Lenovo model number in the Android Upgrade Matrix and check Samsung’s regional support information for the Galaxy Tab model.
- Calculate the working setup. Add the compatible pen, keyboard, charger, case and microSD card you actually need. Confirm each item is included or separately sold.
- Check expansion and networks. Confirm microSD capacity, Wi-Fi generation, cellular availability and regional bands for the exact SKU.
- Apply a use-case test. For handwriting, verify pen compatibility; for typing, verify keyboard layout and hinge; for travel, check weight and cellular options; for video, prioritize the panel and speakers you will use.
- Keep the listing evidence. Save the configuration page or order summary showing storage, connectivity and accessories so you can challenge a mismatched shipment.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
- Declaring a brand winner: Replace the brand question with a named model-to-model comparison.
- Assuming every Galaxy Tab has AMOLED: Samsung’s FE, Lite and A lines use different display hardware; confirm the model row.
- Assuming every Lenovo tablet has the Pro’s Wi-Fi or refresh rate: the Idea Tab Plus is listed with Wi-Fi 5, and the Tab Plus has a 90 Hz display.
- Counting an optional keyboard as included: verify the box contents for the exact SKU.
- Using the 2025 FE launch price as a current price: treat it as historical context and check today’s local transaction price.
- Turning battery estimates into promises: Samsung’s hours come from a specific 720p, 162-nit, offline playback method; everyday use varies.
- Relying on an old model guide: use current product and comparison pages. Lenovo’s older withdrawn base Tab specifications are not evidence for the current lineup.
- Assuming support is brand-wide: update endpoints are model- and region-dependent; use the exact model number.
Final decision
If you want one conditional recommendation, start with the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro for a large, high-refresh LCD, microSD expansion and a strong published processor specification, provided its current price and optional keyboard fit your budget. Choose a specific premium Galaxy Tab S when AMOLED, an included S Pen and Samsung-device integration are worth paying for. Consider the Idea Tab Plus, Tab Plus or Galaxy Tab FE only after checking that their lower-tier display, processor, wireless and accessory choices match your actual use.
