The Lenovo Pro 9i Gen 11 Aura Edition is a strong fit if you want a bright 16-inch OLED touchscreen, Nvidia graphics, and ports for cameras and external displays in one laptop. Its tradeoffs are meaningful: it is heavy, can get loud in performance mode, and its battery life is modest beside some competitors. Whether its premium price makes sense depends on whether you will use the discrete GPU and high-end OLED.
Lenovo’s current US product page drops “Yoga” from the name, calling it the Lenovo Pro 9i Aura Edition (16″ Intel) Laptop. The familiar Yoga name remains in some model references and regions, so this article uses “Pro 9i” for the Gen 11 machine. Lenovo product page Notebookcheck review
What configuration did Notebookcheck review?
Notebookcheck reviewed the Lenovo Pro 9 16IPH11, also described as the Pro 9i Aura Edition 16 G11. Its unit paired an Intel Core Ultra 9 386H processor with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU, 32 GB of LPDDR5X memory, a 1 TB SSD, and a 16-inch 3,200 × 2,000, 120 Hz Tandem OLED touchscreen. The tested RTX 5060 configuration is specified at 100 W TDP and has 8 GB of VRAM. These specifications describe the review unit, not every model sold. Notebookcheck review

Lower-end configurations use an RTX 5050 or a 2,880 × 1,800 OLED panel. Lenovo documents both display resolutions at 120 Hz, but availability of particular combinations can vary by country. Check the exact regional SKU rather than assuming that a retailer’s listing matches the review configuration. Lenovo user guide Notebookcheck review

How good is the OLED display?
The 3,200 × 2,000 Tandem OLED is the standout feature of the reviewed configuration. Lenovo specifies up to 1,000 nits in SDR and 1,600 nits in HDR for this panel. Notebookcheck measured a maximum center brightness of 931 nits in SDR and 1,480 nits in HDR on its test unit; those are independent test results, not guarantees for every panel or usage condition. Its measurements also found 100% sRGB, 98.8% Display P3, and 95.7% AdobeRGB coverage. Notebookcheck review
For photo and video work, the wide measured color coverage and high brightness make the premium panel attractive. The less expensive 2,880 × 1,800 OLED option still runs at 120 Hz, but Notebookcheck’s review does not establish that it shares the reviewed Tandem OLED’s brightness or color measurements. Choose by the actual panel specification, not just the “OLED” label.

How fast is it, and what are the tradeoffs?
The RTX 5060 gives the Pro 9i discrete graphics for GPU-accelerated creative applications and other workloads that can use Nvidia hardware. Its usefulness depends on the software and tasks you actually run; a discrete GPU is not automatically a benefit for every creator. Notebookcheck found the Core Ultra 9 386H performed almost the same as the prior-generation Core Ultra 9 285H in its comparison, so the newer model does not represent a major CPU leap over that predecessor. - Fan noise: Notebookcheck identifies noticeable fan noise in performance mode as a drawback, especially relevant if you work in quiet rooms.
- Weight and size: The chassis is approximately 360.6 mm wide and 247.9 mm deep, with thickness around 17.3–17.6 mm depending on configuration. Notebookcheck also considers it heavier than some alternatives, which matters for frequent travel. Lenovo user guide Notebookcheck review
- Keyboard: The review notes the removal of the numpad, a possible concern for buyers who enter numbers frequently.
How long does the battery last?
Notebookcheck updated its Wi-Fi web-surfing result after a retest published May 3, 2026: 9 hours 51 minutes with brightness set to 150 nits, refresh rate fixed at 60 Hz, and Nvidia graphics set to Automatic. That is a controlled review test, not a promise of a full workday; workload, brightness, refresh rate, and GPU use can change runtime. The publication’s comparison table lists 9.9 hours for this model, about 10.7 hours for the prior Yoga Pro 9i Gen 10, 10.3 hours for the Dell XPS 16, and 16.5 hours for the MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo under its test. Which ports and upgrades does it offer?
The port selection is useful for a creator workflow: Lenovo’s guide documents two USB-A ports, two multifunction USB-C ports with USB4/Thunderbolt 4, DisplayPort 2.1 and USB Power Delivery, HDMI, a full-size SD card reader, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. That can accommodate a camera card, peripherals, and an external display without relying on a separate hub. Actual data and display behavior depends on the connected device and cable. Lenovo user guide
Storage is more upgrade-friendly than memory. The guide lists two M.2 SSD slots: one for a 2242 drive and another that accepts 2280 or 2242 drives. System memory is soldered LPDDR5X with no memory slots, so it is not a user-upgradeable component. Confirm the exact machine and drive compatibility before purchasing an SSD. Lenovo user guide

Is the Pro 9i Gen 11 worth its price?
Notebookcheck’s April 29, 2026 review reported a review-era US starting price of about $2,800 for a base configuration with the 1,800p display and RTX 5050, and more than $3,100 for its reviewed 2,000p / RTX 5060 configuration. These are dated prices, not a confirmation of October 2026 pricing, stock, or current offers. The same review’s comparison table listed a prior-generation Yoga Pro 9i configuration at $1,800, illustrating how generation and configuration affect the apparent value. Check the current price for the precise regional SKU before deciding. Notebookcheck review
Notebookcheck reviewer Allen Ngo summed up the machine as “A high-end multimedia machine packed with lots of performance and a super-bright OLED touchscreen, but lacking in battery life.” That verdict fits buyers who will make use of the GPU, display, and broad built-in ports. If discrete graphics and the premium panel are not priorities, the extra cost, weight, fan noise, and shorter test battery life are harder to justify. Notebookcheck also names the Dell XPS 16, MSI Prestige 16, and Asus ProArt P16 among comparison models; a meaningful choice depends on matched configuration, current price, portability, ports, display, and workload rather than a universal winner.
