LemonLink is a web service that wraps a URL in a shareable link and reports whether a human or AI opened it, and when. Its creator built it to answer a familiar question after sharing a pitch deck, demo, article, or video: “whether anyone actually opened them or if they used AI for it.” The project is presented as an experiment and a request for feedback—not as a validated way to identify every visitor.

What LemonLink is meant to do

Instead of sharing the original URL directly, the creator describes making a LemonLink share link for it. The service is intended to show whether a person or an AI opened the wrapped URL and when that happened. The project post names pitch decks, demos, articles, and videos as examples of things someone might share.

The underlying need is straightforward: sending a link does not tell you whether its recipient opened it, or whether the material was used by AI instead. LemonLink aims to make that activity visible for generic links, rather than only for a particular kind of document or media.

What the project description does—and does not—establish

The creator describes the intended result, but the available project description does not explain how LemonLink distinguishes a human visit from an AI visit. It does not define what counts as an AI opening, explain how browser previews or link-unfurling fetches are treated, or provide accuracy measurements. So the description is not enough to conclude that a reported visit reliably identifies a person or an AI agent.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

It also does not document what information the service collects, its privacy controls or retention practices, its security measures, pricing, or whether the service is currently available. Those details should be checked directly before relying on the service for sensitive links or consequential decisions.

Why the creator is asking for feedback

The creator invites people to try to break the project and suggest improvements. That makes LemonLink a build report and feedback request: the central question is whether a shareable link can help answer who—or what—opened shared material. The Hacker News project post repeats the creator’s description and links to a sample share URL, corroborating the project’s stated purpose and feedback-seeking context, but not independently verifying how well it works.

If you test it, useful feedback would focus on observable behavior: what the report shows after different kinds of link access, whether the labels are understandable, and what details you would need before trusting the result. Avoid treating an apparent human-versus-AI label as proof of identity unless the service explains and substantiates how it reached that conclusion.
