Short answer: Buy LEGO Pokémon Eevee 72151 if you want the lower-cost, compact display model. LEGO lists it at $59.99 in the United States, with 587 pieces and dimensions of more than 7.5 inches high, 6 inches wide and 8.5 inches deep. Choose LEGO Pokémon Pikachu and Poké Ball 72152 if Pikachu is the priority and you have room and budget for a substantially larger centerpiece. It costs $199.99 in the United States, contains 2,050 pieces and measures more than 13.5 by 10.5 by 15.5 inches.
Both sets are official 18+ display builds launched on February 27, 2026. The right choice depends less on piece count alone than on character preference, available display space, price and whether you want Eevee’s poseable figure or Pikachu’s integrated Poké Ball scene.

The dimensions are stated as “over” measurements, so treat them as minimum planning figures rather than a guarantee that every pose will fit inside those limits. The depth figures matter as much as height: Pikachu’s model extends considerably farther from the wall or rear edge of a shelf.

A smaller character-focused model
Eevee 72151 is the straightforward choice when you want one Pokémon figure without a large surrounding scene. Its 587 pieces make it a much smaller project than the Pikachu set, and its published dimensions suit a desk, narrow shelf or other display area where a 15.5-inch-deep model would be impractical.

Multiple adjustable body parts
LEGO says the Eevee model can be adjusted at the tail, head, legs, feet and ears. That gives the finished figure more than one presentation without requiring a second build. You can orient it toward the room, turn the head toward another display, or alter the stance when rearranging your shelf.
Why Eevee is the practical value pick
At the listed US launch price, Eevee costs $140 less than Pikachu and the Poké Ball. It also requires less display space and a smaller commitment of parts. Those advantages are independent of character preference: even a Pikachu fan may prefer Eevee if the model must fit on a shallow shelf or within a fixed budget.
What you get with Pikachu and Poké Ball 72152
A substantially larger centerpiece
Pikachu and Poké Ball 72152 is designed as a scene rather than only a character figure. LEGO lists 2,050 pieces and dimensions of more than 13.5 inches high, 10.5 inches wide and 15.5 inches deep. That makes it more than twice Eevee’s height and width and almost twice its depth, so it will dominate a display rather than simply occupy one spot on a shelf.
Two described display configurations
The product supports two arrangements. In one, Pikachu appears to launch from an open Poké Ball. In the other, Pikachu rests with the ball closed. The Poké Ball is therefore part of the display itself, not merely an accessory placed beside an otherwise unchanged figure.
Adjustable Pikachu
LEGO describes posable ears and limbs on Pikachu. The poseable character and the alternate ball arrangements let you change the visual emphasis between an energetic battle-style presentation and a more contained resting display.
Price and piece-count value
The cash difference
LEGO’s US launch prices are $59.99 for Eevee and $199.99 for Pikachu and the Poké Ball, a difference of $140. The Pikachu set therefore costs a little more than three times the Eevee set’s price. These figures come from LEGO’s January 12, 2026 announcement and the US product listings; prices and availability can change after launch.
What the piece counts do and do not tell you
Pikachu includes 2,050 pieces compared with Eevee’s 587, or about 3.5 times as many pieces. Dividing list price by pieces gives an approximate $0.10 per piece for Eevee and $0.098 per piece for Pikachu. That arithmetic can provide context, but it is not a quality score. Piece size, shaping, the Poké Ball structure and the intended scale all affect the part mix, so a lower or similar price-per-piece figure does not prove that one model is better built or more enjoyable.

- 2 POSABLE POKÉMON – Help the cute Eevee figure, with an adjustable tail and ears, and the large Lapras figure, with moving flippers, search for treasure, then add a SMART Brick (not included) to listen to music and battle with SMART Play interactivity
- HOW TO ACTIVATE YOUR SET – Add a LEGO SMART Brick from an All-in-One Set (each set sold separately) to enable interactive play functionality. SMART Bricks are not available to purchase as a stand-alone product
Use piece count as a rough indicator of project scale. It cannot establish build time, difficulty, structural stability or comparative enjoyment; no independent build test is established for these sets.
How much display space do they need?
Eevee’s footprint
LEGO gives Eevee’s dimensions as over 19 cm high, 15 cm wide and 21 cm deep. A shelf with at least those clearances should accommodate the published envelope, but allow additional room if you plan to rotate the head, ears, tail or limbs. Measure usable depth from the front edge to the back panel rather than relying on the shelf’s nominal size.
Pikachu’s footprint
The Pikachu set is listed at over 35 cm high, 26 cm wide and 39 cm deep. The 39-cm depth is the critical constraint for many bookcases and desks. Check for doors, adjacent objects, cable routes and the distance needed to view an open Poké Ball before ordering. A shelf that handles Eevee comfortably may still be unsuitable for 72152.
Planning for poses
Published measurements describe the model, not every possible pose. Leave clearance above Pikachu’s ears and in front of the Poké Ball, and leave side room for Eevee’s tail and ears. If the model will sit behind a monitor or inside a cabinet, measure the actual opening and not just the outer furniture dimensions.
Comparing the footprint numerically
Using LEGO’s minimum published measurements, Eevee’s rectangular envelope is roughly 19 × 15 × 21 cm, while Pikachu’s is roughly 35 × 26 × 39 cm. That is about 4.3 times as much bounding-box volume for Pikachu, although the models do not fill those boxes solidly. The comparison illustrates why a 72152 display needs deliberate placement rather than simply a slightly wider shelf.
Build commitment and audience
Both sets are labeled 18+
The age label is 18+ for both products. It identifies LEGO’s intended audience and presentation; it does not establish a comparative difficulty rating. Adults buying for a younger builder should follow the manufacturer’s age guidance and supervise according to their own judgment.
Eevee’s commitment
With 587 pieces, Eevee is the shorter, more contained project on paper. It is a sensible option when you want a character display without dedicating a large amount of time, table space or storage to an unfinished build. The piece count alone cannot predict exactly how long construction will take.

- COMPATIBLE WITH LEGO SMART BRICK (NOT INCLUDED) – The LEGO Pokémon SMART Play: Mewtwo’s Lab Break (72163) building toy is a LEGO SMART Play Compatible Set featuring a Legendary Pokémon, a SMART Tag and a buildable Master Ball
- POKÉMON BUILDING TOY – Turn the dial at the front of the chamber to capture the iconic moment where the posable Mewtwo figure breaks out of the tank and uses its psychic-type powers to escape
- YOU ARE THE TRAINER NOW – The buildable Mewtwo figure includes a hidden SMART Tag that can activate a SMART Brick (not included) to trigger unique sounds and lights as it senses the tag and reacts to kids' movements
- INTERACTIVE MEWTWO MODEL – Kids can have fun creating their own pretend play adventures as they pose the brick-built Mewtwo toy, or add a SMART Brick (not included) to the Legendary Pokémon to see how it responds to their movements with SMART Play interactions
- HOW TO ACTIVATE YOUR SET – Add a LEGO SMART Brick from an All-in-One Set (each set sold separately) to enable interactive play functionality. SMART Bricks are not available to purchase as a stand-alone product
Pikachu’s commitment
At 2,050 pieces, Pikachu and the Poké Ball is a much larger undertaking. You need a stable construction surface, somewhere to keep partially completed sections and a permanent display location that can support the completed dimensions. The number of pieces signals scale, not a tested difficulty level or guaranteed build duration.

Storage and interruption planning
If you cannot finish in one sitting, separate loose parts from completed sections and keep the instructions with the set. The larger model occupies more temporary workspace, so confirm that a table can remain undisturbed between sessions. Eevee is easier to pause simply because fewer pieces and a smaller partially built figure take up less room; that is a logistical advantage, not a claim about construction difficulty.
Which set should you buy?
Choose Eevee 72151 when budget is the deciding factor
- You want to stay near a $60 US launch price.
- A $140 premium for the larger set would compete with other purchases.
- You prefer a compact model that is easier to place on a desk or narrow shelf.
- You want one poseable Pokémon figure rather than a larger scene.
Choose Pikachu and Poké Ball 72152 when Pikachu is the priority
- Pikachu is the character you specifically want to display.
- You can accommodate more than 35 cm of height and 39 cm of depth.
- You value the open-ball launch and closed-ball resting configurations.
- You want a centerpiece with substantially more visual scale and are comfortable paying $199.99 at the listed US launch price.
Choose based on display concept, not only character size
If you are deciding between a large Pikachu figure and a small Eevee figure solely by apparent value, the comparison will feel uneven because the products target different displays. Eevee is a poseable single character. Pikachu combines a poseable character with a Poké Ball and two stated presentation modes. The extra money buys a larger integrated scene, not simply a bigger version of Eevee.
Is the Pikachu set worth $140 more?
It is worth the difference for a buyer who will use the Poké Ball configurations, has the required space and considers Pikachu a must-have character. In that situation, Eevee’s lower price does not provide the feature the buyer actually wants.
It is not the practical choice when the model must fit a compact location, when $199.99 exceeds the budget or when the buyer mainly wants a poseable Pokémon figure. Eevee supplies adjustable body parts at a fraction of the outlay and with a much smaller published envelope.

Gift and collection considerations
For a gift, character certainty matters more than the price-per-piece calculation. A recipient who specifically collects Pikachu memorabilia may value the 72152 scene even if they already own other Pokémon models. Conversely, Eevee is easier to fit into a bedroom, office or dorm display and leaves more of a $200 gift budget available for other items. These are practical implications of the listed prices and dimensions, not guarantees about a recipient’s preferences.

Collectors planning a broader LEGO Pokémon display should consider visual scale. Eevee’s published height is over 19 cm, while Pikachu’s is over 35 cm, so placing them together will create a deliberately different-sized presentation. The sets launched on the same date, February 27, 2026, and both carry the 18+ label, making them coherent adult display products while still serving different shelf roles.
A simple buying checklist
- Set your ceiling. Compare your budget with the listed US prices of $59.99 and $199.99, remembering that current prices and stock may differ from launch listings.
- Measure the display location. Record usable height, width and depth. For 72152, check at least the published 35-cm height, 26-cm width and 39-cm depth, plus room for viewing and pose adjustments.
- Pick the character first. If Pikachu is the reason for buying, do not treat Eevee’s lower price as a substitute. If character preference is neutral, Eevee’s size and price become decisive advantages.
- Decide whether the scene matters. Pikachu’s open and closed Poké Ball configurations are central to its presentation. Eevee instead concentrates on repositioning the figure’s tail, head, legs, feet and ears.
- Plan construction and storage. The 2,050-piece model needs more temporary work area and a permanent location than the 587-piece model. Keep the box and instructions where they will not be damaged if you pause the build.
- Verify the listing before payment. Confirm the set number, current price, regional currency and availability on the LEGO store page. Do not convert a price shown for another country into a guaranteed US price.
Launch context and what is established
Both products were part of LEGO’s first Pokémon launch announcement on January 12, 2026, with a February 27, 2026 release date and an 18+ label. The announcement identifies the launch as including three sets and five Pokémon recreated in LEGO form. The product pages provide the model-specific features and US pricing used in this comparison.
The LEGO Group described the launch as giving builders the opportunity to bring their adventures to life “one brick at a time.” That is promotional language about the collection, not evidence of a measured difference in enjoyment between Eevee and Pikachu.
Availability is location-dependent. For example, a LEGO store page for Estonia displayed Pikachu and Poké Ball at €209.99 and marked it available for that locale. That regional listing should not be converted into a US price; the US comparison here uses LEGO’s $199.99 announcement and US product overview.
Bottom-line decision
For most buyers balancing cost and space, Eevee 72151 is the practical value choice: $59.99, 587 pieces and a compact poseable figure. Pikachu and Poké Ball 72152 is the enthusiast centerpiece: $199.99, 2,050 pieces, a much larger footprint and two Poké Ball-based displays. Buy Eevee when convenience and budget lead; buy Pikachu when the character and scene justify the space and premium.

LEGO says Eevee’s tail, head, legs, feet and ears can be adjusted for different poses.
Are both LEGO Pokémon sets for adults?
Both 72151 and 72152 carry LEGO’s 18+ age label. That label indicates the intended audience, not a verified comparison of difficulty or build time.
