Choose The Marvel Skyline (67006) if you want a shallow, horizontal microscale panorama that packs many Marvel locations into one scene. Choose Avengers Tower (76269) for the tallest and most substantial interior-focused display, Daily Bugle (76178) for a four-story Spider-Man setting, or The X-Mansion (76294) for an X-Men building designed to join LEGO’s Super Hero modular street.
These sets are not interchangeable versions of the same idea. The Skyline is a city composition viewed as a whole; the other three are large buildings with accessible interiors, or in The X-Mansion’s case, a two-level modular-style structure. The right choice depends on franchise focus, available shelf depth, preferred scale, and whether you want to open the model and stage scenes.
What is being compared?
The four sets represent two distinct display formats. The Marvel Skyline 67006 is an adult-oriented microscale scene. It compresses numerous Marvel landmarks into a single 21 cm-high, 40 cm-wide, 11 cm-deep composition. You look across the model as a panorama rather than entering one building.
Avengers Tower 76269, Daily Bugle 76178, and The X-Mansion 76294 are building displays. Their larger structures occupy more vertical or front-to-back space and are designed for interior viewing, character placement, or both. That difference matters more than piece count alone: a skyline can represent breadth, while a building can provide depth and room-by-room storytelling.

The Marvel Skyline 67006: many locations in one compact scene
What the model represents
The Skyline’s defining feature is variety. LEGO identifies Avengers Tower, the Daily Bugle, the Baxter Building, and the X-Men Mansion among the settings represented. The scene also includes Wakandan Embassy, Rand Enterprises, Pym Laboratories, Hammer Industries, Roxxon, Oscorp, and Fisk Tower. Instead of choosing one storyline, the set creates a visual map of Marvel locations.
Because these structures are rendered at microscale, they are designed to read as an urban composition rather than as minifigure-scale rooms. Windows, towers, signs, and silhouettes provide recognition from a distance, but the set is not intended to offer the same interior access as the three larger building displays.
Included figures and vehicles
The display includes a Galactus minifigure, plus Spider-Man and Human Torch trophy figures. LEGO also lists the X-Jet, a Fantastic Four rocket ship, and the Spider-Mobile. Those additions give the panorama recognizable character and vehicle accents without changing its overall microscale character.

Footprint and display behavior
At 40 cm wide and only 11 cm deep, the Skyline is the easiest of these four models to place on a shallow bookcase or narrow media console. Its 21 cm height also leaves substantially more vertical clearance than the tower-style sets. The trade-off is that it spreads sideways: you need a clear 40 cm run, and the model’s impact comes from viewing the whole skyline rather than opening a façade.
Building and app features
LEGO positions the 1,261-piece set as adult room décor and lists Build Together mode in the LEGO Builder app. Build Together can divide construction into shared tasks for multiple builders. The product description does not provide a minifigure count or describe removable building sections, so those should not be assumed when comparing it with the interior-focused sets.
Avengers Tower 76269: the vertical centerpiece
Scale and visual presence
Avengers Tower is the largest and tallest option in this comparison by published specifications. It contains 5,201 pieces and stands over 90 cm high. That height makes it a genuine centerpiece, but it also creates the strictest display requirements: measure the shelf, the space above it, and the route through which the completed model must be moved before building.
Interior access
A side of the building and the roof lift off to expose the interior. This opening method lets you view scenes inside the tower while retaining a tall exterior silhouette when the sections are in place. LEGO presents the set as a build-and-display project with scenes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so it is aimed at collectors who want both a recognizable skyscraper and an interior staging environment.

- GIFT IDEA FOR BOYS & GIRLS – Makes a standout birthday or holiday present for those who love superhero toys and challenging building projects
Who should choose it
Avengers Tower suits a reader whose priority is maximum scale, vertical impact, and MCU emphasis. It is less suitable when shelf depth or ceiling height is limited, or when the main interest is a horizontal overview of many comic-book locations rather than one dominant building.
Daily Bugle 76178: a four-story Spider-Man display
Structure and content
The Daily Bugle contains 3,789 pieces and stands over 82 cm high across four stories. LEGO lists 25 characters, giving this set a denser character focus than the Skyline’s published description. The subject is specifically the Spider-Verse setting, so its appeal is strongest for collectors who want a newspaper-office environment, street-level action, and Spider-Man-related scenes.
Opening the building
The floors, roof, and façades are removable or detachable. You can therefore expose broad sections of the building instead of trying to reach through a small window. That construction supports scene staging and makes the interior visible in a way a sealed skyline panorama cannot match.

Display implications
At more than 82 cm tall, the Daily Bugle needs nearly tower-level vertical clearance. Its four-story profile provides a strong city-building silhouette, but it is a single narrative location rather than a survey of Marvel landmarks. Choose it when the Spider-Man setting and accessible floors matter more than representing Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, and other franchises together.

X-Men: The X-Mansion 76294: a two-level modular-style building
Dimensions and layout
The X-Mansion measures 27 cm high, 40 cm wide, and 25 cm deep. It is therefore much shorter than Avengers Tower and Daily Bugle, but its 25 cm depth is more than twice the Skyline’s 11 cm. Its footprint is wider and substantially deeper than the panorama, so a shelf that accommodates the Skyline may not accommodate the mansion front to back.
LEGO lists 3,093 pieces, an 18+ age rating, and 10 minifigures. The two-level structure is intended for play or display, giving it a middle position between a compact decorative model and a very tall skyscraper.
Super Hero modular compatibility
LEGO describes The X-Mansion as part of its Super Hero modular line, alongside Sanctum Sanctorum, Daily Bugle, and Avengers Tower. Designer Justin Ramsden explained the intent: “We wanted to tie it into our Super Hero modular street.” That makes the mansion the clearest choice for someone planning a connected superhero-building arrangement rather than a standalone panorama.

Pick The X-Mansion when X-Men identity is the deciding factor, when you want a building that can participate in the named modular street, or when a 27 cm-high model is easier to display than an 80–90 cm tower. Its deeper footprint is the cost of that lower profile and interior-oriented design.

How the formats differ in everyday use
Microscale panorama versus accessible interiors
The Skyline is read from the outside. Its value is the number of recognizable places compressed into one composition. Avengers Tower, Daily Bugle, and The X-Mansion are buildings you can open, inspect, and use for scene placement. If you expect to move figures through rooms or regularly change displays, the building sets provide the appropriate architecture.
Horizontal space versus vertical space
The Skyline needs 40 cm of width but just 11 cm of depth and 21 cm of height. The X-Mansion keeps the same 40 cm width while increasing depth to 25 cm and height to 27 cm. The two towers reverse the problem: their published heights exceed 82 cm, so vertical clearance becomes the primary constraint.
Franchise breadth versus franchise focus
- Broad Marvel representation: The Skyline combines Avengers, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Wakandan, and corporate Marvel locations in one view.
- Marvel Cinematic Universe centerpiece: Avengers Tower concentrates on a tall MCU building and interior scenes.
- Spider-Verse setting: Daily Bugle focuses on a four-story newspaper building and its 25-character cast.
- X-Men environment: The X-Mansion centers on the school and connects to the Super Hero modular street.
Which LEGO Marvel display set should you choose?
Choose The Marvel Skyline when
- You want the greatest variety of Marvel locations in one model.
- Your shelf is shallow or has limited vertical clearance.
- You prefer room décor that reads as a complete city scene from the front.
- You are comfortable with microscale architecture rather than minifigure-scale rooms.
Choose Avengers Tower when
- You want the tallest and most piece-heavy set in this group.
- You have more than 90 cm of vertical clearance.
- Interior access through a removable side and roof is central to your display plan.
- Your collection is oriented toward MCU Avengers scenes.
Choose Daily Bugle when
- Spider-Man is the main reason you are buying a building display.
- You want four stories and a listed cast of 25 characters.
- You want removable floors, roof, and façades for interior viewing.
- You can accommodate a building taller than 82 cm.
Choose The X-Mansion when
- X-Men is your priority franchise.
- You want a two-level building at 27 cm high instead of a skyscraper.
- You are planning a Super Hero modular street with the named neighboring models.
- You have at least 25 cm of usable shelf depth.
Planning a display before you build
- Measure the shelf in three directions. Record usable width, depth, and clearance above the surface. Compare those measurements with the published dimensions, adding room to handle removable sections.
- Decide whether you need interior access. If the answer is no, the Skyline’s shallow panorama may be the cleanest solution. If the answer is yes, select among the three building formats.
- Choose a visual center. A Skyline works as a wide horizontal anchor; Avengers Tower or Daily Bugle creates a vertical focal point; The X-Mansion creates a lower, deeper block.
- Plan modular connections separately. LEGO explicitly places The X-Mansion in the Super Hero modular line with Sanctum Sanctorum, Daily Bugle, and Avengers Tower. Do not assume the Skyline shares those physical connection features merely because it depicts some of the same locations.
- Check handling access. A model more than 80 or 90 cm tall may be difficult to move through doorways or around shelving once complete. Build and display it near its final position when possible.
What is not established by the published specifications
The official specifications establish pieces, dimensions, figures where stated, opening features, and the intended display format. They do not establish current retail price, stock, resale value, or a guarantee that every set remains available in every region. Those details change by country and date, so check the current LEGO listing or local retailers before purchasing.

Shared names such as Avengers Tower, Daily Bugle, or X-Men Mansion refer to represented locations; the Skyline’s versions are microscale interpretations, while the larger sets are buildings designed around accessible interiors or modular display context.
Bottom-line decision
The Marvel Skyline 67006 is the best choice for breadth and compact placement: 1,261 pieces create a 21 × 40 × 11 cm Marvel panorama with many locations, vehicles, and display figures. Avengers Tower 76269 is the imposing vertical option at over 90 cm and 5,201 pieces. Daily Bugle 76178 is the Spider-Man-focused four-story building with 25 characters and removable sections. The X-Mansion 76294 is the X-Men-focused, two-level choice that occupies 27 × 40 × 25 cm and belongs to LEGO’s named Super Hero modular street. Match the set to the story and the shelf you actually have, rather than treating piece count as the deciding factor.
