LEGO Insiders is a free loyalty program for adults 18 and older. You earn points from eligible LEGO purchases, selected activities and registering qualifying sets, then exchange those points for checkout discounts or rewards. In the United States, LEGO currently awards 6.5 points per US$1 and charges 650 points for a US$5 discount. Rates, participating stores, reward catalogs and stock vary by country and can change, so verify the terms shown in your local LEGO account before making a purchase or redeeming a reward.
What LEGO Insiders is and who can join
LEGO Insiders replaced the LEGO VIP program in 2023. LEGO’s corporate announcement dated August 21, 2023, says valid VIP points transferred to Insiders. Membership costs nothing, but the program is intended for adults aged 18 or older. Your account region determines the currency table, available rewards and many participating locations.
Insiders points are loyalty points, not cash. They have no single worldwide conversion rate, and you generally cannot transfer them to another person or exchange them for money. Use the Rewards Center in the same regional account where you earned the points.
How to earn LEGO Insiders points
Buy from LEGO’s eligible channels
LEGO lists points for eligible orders placed on LEGO.com and purchases at participating LEGO Stores. Some participating partner locations may also qualify. Eligibility is store- and region-specific: LEGO’s UK guidance, for example, says LEGO Certified Stores marked with a yellow flag do not allow members to earn or redeem points. A purchase on a third-party marketplace is not automatically eligible. Count it only when LEGO identifies that seller or location as a participating partner.

Check the store listing and the region attached to your Insiders account before you buy. A store can sell genuine LEGO products yet still be outside the Insiders earning and redemption network. If you are comparing an online price with a local shop, include the value of points only after confirming that the exact seller participates.
Complete selected activities
LEGO periodically offers engagement activities that award points. The activity types and amounts are shown in the relevant Insiders area and can change. Treat these as optional bonuses rather than a permanent earning schedule; an activity that appears in one country or month may not appear in another.
Register eligible sets with the instruction QR code
Qualifying building instructions include a QR code that lets an adult member register the set for 20 points. The same set can receive this registration award once. If you own additional copies of that set, each copy may be registered separately, provided its instructions have the qualifying QR code.

- Open the set-registration feature in your regional Insiders account.
- Scan the QR code printed in the eligible set’s building instructions.
- Confirm the set details and submit the registration.
- Check your points activity after submission; the registration reward should appear only once for that copy.
Sets without the qualifying QR code cannot earn this registration award. LEGO also limits points earning to adults, so a child’s account cannot be used to claim it. Keep the instructions available until registration is complete, especially if you own several copies and need to distinguish each eligible copy.
How many points you earn in the United States
LEGO’s current US table lists 6.5 points for every US$1 in eligible purchase value. This is a US example, not a universal rate. LEGO notes that when an order is sent to another country, it can be charged and accrue according to the destination currency’s rate.

For a simple illustration, an eligible US$100 purchase multiplied by 6.5 points per dollar equals 650 points, the current amount listed for a US$5 discount. This example explains the table; it does not establish that every line item, fee or transaction qualifies. Follow the exclusions and confirmation shown for your order.
For US online and in-store purchases, LEGO says points normally post within 24–48 hours. Keep the order confirmation until the points appear. If they are still missing after that window, verify that the store or partner participated, that you used the correct Insiders account and that the purchase was made in the matching regional site.

The value is set by each regional points table. LEGO’s current help pages, checked on October 13, 2026, list these examples:

Do not convert a US balance into a presumed worldwide cash value. The number of points required for the same-looking discount differs materially by currency, and LEGO can revise tables or regional terms. Your local account and current Rewards Center are the authoritative sources at checkout.
That regional distinction matters when traveling. A balance earned in one account region should be checked on the LEGO site where you intend to shop, rather than relying on a screenshot of another country’s table. Currency, participating stores and the rewards catalog can all differ.

What you can redeem
Checkout discounts
You can exchange points for a discount during checkout when the option is offered in your region. The US example is 650 points for US$5. A discount lowers the cost of a qualifying order; it is not a cash withdrawal.

Physical and promotional rewards
The catalog can include items such as LEGO sets, posters and keychains. A physical reward or promotional-code reward is added while placing an order. Availability is limited to the listed inventory, and LEGO says putting an item in your bag does not reserve it. Physical items can disappear before payment if stock runs out.
Digital rewards, sweepstakes, tickets and events
Where offered, points may also buy digital downloads, sweepstakes entries, tickets or event access. Digital downloads and similar items can be redeemed directly through the Rewards Center rather than being attached to a product order. The current catalog shows whether an item is available in your geography and its point cost.
How redemption works at checkout
- Sign in to the Insiders account that holds the points and shop on the matching regional LEGO site.
- Open the Rewards Center and select the discount or reward you want.
- Review the point cost, geographic eligibility and any stock notice before confirming.
- Add the reward to your order when the checkout flow requires an order. A coded reward cannot be redeemed without placing an order.
- Apply the reward code in checkout and confirm that the discount or item appears before paying.
LEGO’s help page says you can add up to three rewards to an order, but only one reward code can be used per order. Digital rewards that do not require shipment follow their own Rewards Center redemption flow. If you are using a code, leave enough time to complete checkout; claiming it starts a separate validity period.
Choosing the best use for your balance

Use a discount when you already plan a qualifying purchase and want a known value. Choose a catalog item when its practical or collectible value to you exceeds the discount you would otherwise take. Check both options before spending points because the catalog can change. A reward that looks attractive may also require an order, while a digital item may be available immediately without shipping.

When points and reward codes expire
Points: 18 months of account inactivity
LEGO says points expire only after 18 months without activity on the account. Earning points or redeeming points resets the timer for another 18 months. LEGO says it will email the address on the account as expiration approaches. Keep that email address current and sign in periodically if you want to preserve an unused balance. The inactivity rule concerns account activity, not a fixed calendar date printed on each individual point.
Reward codes: 60 days
A separate expiration applies after you claim a coded reward. LEGO’s US troubleshooting guidance says a reward code is valid for 60 days. Claiming a code does not give you unlimited time to use it; place the required order before the code expires. The 60-day code period and the 18-month points-inactivity period are different clocks.
Troubleshooting missing points or a rejected reward
- Points have not posted: Allow the stated 24–48 hours for a US online or in-store purchase, then confirm the transaction used the correct account and an eligible channel.
- The store did not award points: Check whether it is a participating LEGO Store or partner. In the UK, a Certified Store with a yellow flag is specifically excluded from earning and redeeming.
- The QR registration failed: Make sure the code is printed in the building instructions, the set is eligible and the registration has not already been claimed for that copy.
- A reward code is rejected: Check that you are signed in to the account that claimed it, are shopping in the matching region, have enough points and are using the code within 60 days.
- The reward disappeared: Physical rewards are available while supplies last and are not reserved in a shopping bag. Return to the live Rewards Center to see whether the item is still listed.
- The discount option is missing: Review regional eligibility and the current point balance. Redemption mechanics differ between countries and between online and in-store channels.
Practical rules for avoiding surprises
- Join and use an adult account; the program is for members aged 18 and older.
- Confirm the account’s country and currency before calculating what your balance can buy.
- Do not assume every retailer, marketplace seller or certified store participates.
- Save order confirmations until points have posted.
- Compare a checkout discount with the live catalog before redeeming.
- Use coded rewards within 60 days and monitor the 18-month inactivity clock on your points balance.
- Check the Rewards Center immediately before redeeming a physical item because inventory is not held in your bag.
LEGO’s rates, participating locations, reward types and inventory are changeable. The Rewards Center and local Insiders help pages should take precedence over older screenshots, saved links or advice from another country.
