Short answer: the official Switch 2 listings reviewed do not state a frame-rate target, docked or handheld resolution, or loading-time measurement for LEGO Harry Potter Collection. You should therefore treat 30/60 fps, pixel counts, frame-pacing quality, and faster loading as unconfirmed until independent testing produces results.
What is confirmed is the package: a remastered collection of LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1–4 and Years 5–7, with previously released DLC included. Nintendo lists TV, tabletop, and handheld play, with one-system support for one or two players. The announced digital release date is October 16, 2026; Sega separately confirms a Japanese packaged release on October 29.
What the Switch 2 edition actually includes
Nintendo describes this as a remastered Switch 2 collection containing both original games: LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1–4 and LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5–7. The publisher announcement also says all previously released downloadable-content packs are included. That establishes the game list and the advertised remaster status, but “remastered” is not a numerical performance specification.
The announcement credits Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games with the Switch 2 port. It reports a $49.99 suggested retail price; because that figure comes from a publisher announcement rather than a current local checkout, verify the price in your regional store before buying. Does it run at 60 fps?
There is no supported answer yet. The reviewed official pages do not give a 30-fps or 60-fps target, and they do not publish a measured average, minimum, or frame-time graph. That means it would be inaccurate to promise 60 fps, claim a locked frame rate, or describe the remaster as smoother than the earlier Switch release.
A frame-rate target and actual frame pacing are different things. A developer can target a number while a busy scene, split-screen effect, or heavy particle sequence causes drops. A useful post-release test would record frame times in representative situations: a quiet hub, a combat-heavy room, a spell effect with several characters, a level transition, and two-player local play. The result should identify whether the test was docked or handheld and whether the software was running from internal storage or a card.

Until such testing exists, the responsible conclusion is simply that the frame-rate specification has not been disclosed in the cited official material. Do not substitute the maximum capability of Switch 2 hardware or a result from another game for a measurement of this collection.

- LEGO Harry Potter Collection brings LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 to Nintendo Switch for the first time with both top-selling videogames remastered on one disc. LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 is based on the first four books and films-Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire -allowing fans to experience Harry's first four years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in full LEGO form. LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 transports players through the final three books and final four films-Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows-to experience Harry's last years at Hogwarts and his battle against Lord Voldemort in the ultimate fight between good and evil. This action-packed adventure also offers two previously released DLC packs, including a Character Pack featuring Godric Gryffindor, Harry (Yule Ball), Helga Hufflepuff, Lockhart (Straightjacket), Luna (Lion Head), Peeves, Hermione (Pink Dress), Ron Weasley (Ghoul), Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin, as well as a Spell Pack featuring Cantis, Densaugeo, Ducklifors, Melofors and Tentaclifors
What resolution does it use in docked and handheld modes?
Nintendo’s listings confirm TV, tabletop, and handheld modes, but they do not state an output resolution for either TV play or the built-in screen. There is no published docked pixel count, handheld pixel count, dynamic-resolution range, reconstruction method, or anti-aliasing description in those pages.
“Supports TV mode” only describes where you can play; it does not establish whether the game renders at 720p, 1080p, 4K, or a changing internal resolution. A TV may also upscale an image, so the console’s output signal would not necessarily equal the game’s internal render resolution. The same caution applies to handheld play: the screen’s native characteristics do not prove the game’s render resolution.
For a meaningful comparison with the earlier Switch version, testers would need to capture the same scene in both versions, record docked and handheld output separately, and check for changes in texture detail, shadow quality, geometry, and image reconstruction. None of those comparative results is established by the current listings.

No official loading-time result is provided. The sources do not state how long a level, hub, cutscene, save, or fast-travel transition takes, nor do they compare the Switch 2 edition with the previous Switch release. You should not describe loading as faster merely because this is a newer console or because the edition is marketed as remastered.

A fair comparison would use identical checkpoints and the same measurement rule—for example, from selecting a level until interactive control appears. Tests should repeat each transition, report the range rather than one unusually quick run, and identify whether both versions used comparable storage conditions. Menu animations and unskippable introductions should be counted consistently. Without that methodology and published results, “faster loading” remains an open question.
Release dates, formats, and regional caveats
Digital release
Nintendo of America lists the digital edition for October 16, 2026. Its page identifies WB Games as publisher and TT Games as developer and gives an estimated 13.7 GB download size. Nintendo explicitly warns that preorder information, including download size, may not be final, so check the listing again before downloading if storage space is tight.
Japanese package
Sega’s Japanese announcement schedules a digital release for October 16, 2026 and a packaged release for October 29, 2026. It gives a Japanese suggested retail price of ¥6,578 including tax. Those dates and that price apply to the Japanese announcement; they do not establish a physical SKU or price in the United States, the United Kingdom, or another market. Read the announcement at Sega Japan.

Local multiplayer and controller requirements
Both Nintendo listings describe one-system play for one to two people. The UK listing adds that multiplayer requires one compatible controller per player and that additional controllers may be required. This makes a second controller a conditional cost for a two-player household that does not already have suitable hardware; the listing does not identify one mandatory controller model.
The published modes are TV, tabletop, and handheld. They establish local, single-system play, not online co-op. No online multiplayer feature is stated in the cited product information, so do not buy on the assumption that a second player can join remotely.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to evaluate performance after release
If frame rate, image quality, or loading is your deciding factor, use a repeatable checklist rather than relying on a marketing label or an isolated video.
- Record the version and update state. Note the console system software, game version, and whether any day-one patch is installed. A result from an early build may change after an update.
- Test both display modes. Run the same scenes in docked and handheld modes. Record the TV output setting separately from the handheld result.
- Use repeatable scenes. Include a hub, an effects-heavy encounter, a level with many characters, a two-player session, and at least one transition between areas.
- Measure frame pacing, not just the headline number. A counter showing 60 briefly does not prove that delivery is stable. Look for sustained cadence and visible judder during movement or camera pans.
- Capture image detail at native output. Compare fixed screenshots from the same camera position. Check fine geometry, distant objects, shadows, texture filtering, and any obvious resolution changes during motion.
- Time loading consistently. Start the timer at the same menu or prompt and stop when control returns. Repeat each transition and report the spread of results.
- Compare like with like. Use the same chapter, save state, display mode, and storage conditions on the earlier Switch version if you are making a cross-generation claim.
This process can answer questions the official listings leave open, but it should not be presented as an official specification. Tests are measurements of a particular build and setup.

What buyers can decide now
Buy for the confirmed package
The strongest present-day reason to choose the Switch 2 edition is the combined content: both Harry Potter collections and the previously released DLC in one remastered package, with TV, tabletop, handheld, and one-system local play.
Wait if a specific performance number is essential
If you require a guaranteed frame rate, a particular resolution, or a documented loading improvement, the available official information cannot confirm that requirement. Wait for independent measurements or a later technical specification before treating any of those outcomes as assured.
Plan storage and local play
Reserve space for Nintendo’s current 13.7 GB estimate in the US listing, while allowing for a possible change. For two-player local play, check whether you already have one compatible controller per player before assuming no accessory purchase is needed.
Bottom line on Switch 2 performance
LEGO Harry Potter Collection is officially presented as a remastered two-game collection with DLC, but the reviewed sources stop short of publishing performance numbers. Frame rate, resolution, and loading times are therefore unanswered technical questions—not evidence of poor performance, and not proof of an upgrade. The announced release and regional format details are clear; the measurable quality of the port still requires post-release testing.
