Lawn Mowing Simulator 2 launched on September 23, 2026, for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. It expands the original’s lawn-care routine with leaf blowing and collection, a redesigned grass system, and a US career setting. Those additions make the sequel sound broader on paper, but official feature descriptions and launch-period patch notes do not establish how enjoyable or stable the current game is. Treat it as a game to assess against your platform and the latest build rather than as a proven recommendation.
What kind of game is Lawn Mowing Simulator 2?
Skyhook Games presents the sequel as a professional lawn-care career in the United States. The central tasks include mowing and string trimming, then clearing leaves and grass clippings by blowing them onto a tarp and emptying the collected debris. The PlayStation listing also describes raking leaves from hard-to-reach areas.
That changes the work loop from mowing alone to a mix of cutting and cleanup. Whether the extra tasks feel meaningfully different—or become repetitive—is a question that requires time with the game, not something its feature list can settle.

A broader mix of yard work
Leaf blowing, debris collection, and raking join mowing and trimming. That gives contracts more potential steps, though the official descriptions do not show how frequently each activity appears or how varied it feels in play.

A redesigned grass system
Skyhook says it rebuilt the grass system to make cut and uncut areas easier to distinguish and to add variation in height, flowers, and weeds. The developer also said the original implementation used substantial resources and limited additions such as leaf blowing. These are design goals, not independent confirmation of visual clarity or performance.
More locations and changing gardens
The PlayStation Store description lists 11 suburban, commercial, and municipal locations, with multiple contracts at most locations. It also describes an explorable 3D business headquarters, character customization, and garden layouts that can change between visits. The listing does not establish how much those changing layouts affect contract variety over a longer playthrough.

Licensed equipment
The game represents selected equipment from Kubota, SCAG, and STIGA. These are in-game machines; owning real equipment is not a requirement to play. Skyhook’s equipment announcement notes that which machines appear depends on manufacturer permission.
Where can you play it?
The official listings give September 23, 2026 as the release date. The Xbox Store lists Xbox Series X|S and PC, as well as handheld play and Xbox Play Anywhere; it also identifies single-player, achievements, and cloud saves. The PlayStation Store lists a PS5 version. Store availability and metadata may change, so check the listing for your region and platform before buying.

What do the launch-period updates say about stability?
Skyhook documented several launch-period problems and fixes in announcements through September 30, 2026. On September 25, the developer said it had fixed a ZTA 26s collision issue and updated contract generation and console visuals. At that point, it said save-data problems and mower handling on slopes were still under investigation.
Later announcements described work addressing demo-to-full-game save compatibility, a black-screen progression blocker, memory and loading behavior, PS5 saves, console performance, screen tearing, and menu navigation. A September 30 Steam hotfix added D-pad navigation. This is a dated account of the developer’s updates, not proof that every issue is resolved on every platform or that the current build is trouble-free.

Is Lawn Mowing Simulator 2 worth buying?
There is not enough independent play evidence here to give a confident quality verdict. The sequel’s stated additions—leaf work, a redesigned grass system, more locations, and gardens that can change between visits—are relevant if you want a lawn-care simulator with more than mowing. But feature breadth alone cannot answer the practical questions: how precise the controls feel, how satisfying cleanup is, whether contracts stay varied, or how well the game runs on your platform.

A PlayStation Store snapshot showed 3.49 out of 5 from 167 ratings when accessed on October 7, 2026. That is a changing US storefront rating from verified-owner reviews, not a critics’ score or a stable measure of consensus. Use it as one limited signal alongside the latest platform-specific information, not as a substitute for a review based on testing the current build.
The official descriptions and update history support a clear summary of what Skyhook says the sequel offers and what the developer worked to fix. They do not establish whether the new activities make the routine compelling or whether the launch issues have been fully put to rest. Those are the deciding factors for a buyer who already knows the original or is choosing a simulator for the first time.
